Simply astonishing. They also have the Animatrix dvd trailer online. I submit that trailer and the just released Animatrix short of unrefutable proof anime is anything but cheap kiddy garbage as some say.

But wow...between The Matrix Reloaded, Revolutions, Animatrix dvd, and Enter the Matrix PS23 game...this is definately the year of The Matrix!

I posted about Animatrix a week back but no one replied... Well So episode 1 is out now? It is a must get for All Matrix fans...

EDIT: Damn the largest file is a 140mb *.mov file... If there is intrest I could encode it to DIVX. Let me know.

There's a matrix anime? :teek: OMFG!
I didn't knew that :p i'll try get the encode of the 1st ep since it's already out, to check it out....i loved the movie, the anime can't be bad.
Edit: Ahhhhhhhhhh you're supposed to watch it online :embarass: i thought it was on tv or something :P Well in that case i'll just wait for the dvd-rips instead of getting either the mov version or the divx conversion :D i'll post my thoughts on it when it's done loading.

You don't need to watch it online, you can download the mov. But the largest is 140mb... Just put your cursor on the movie and you will see the link. Or if you want I can PM it to to you...

Thanks karpo, but it seems i already have it...see when i watched it online it saved it in the cache of my browser (a 141 mb file called opr003Q8.mov) so i guess i'll just move it from there.
:D i loved this short, i can't wait for the next one...needless to say the animation was top-notch as it's usually the case in anime movies/ovas/shorts, and i love cgi animation so it's a plus...ya, to put it simple animation is gorgeous :P they made a wise decision in hiring japanese animators to animate this.
Plot was also good, tho the music was louder than voices/sounds and i didnt wanted to turn all the volume up, so i didnt understand all that much, but basically it's a story about man creating robots in the future and robots betraying them, then riots start...pretty neat  i was expecting it to be more or less like the live action movie but they seemed to do a whole new plot

I haven't watched it yet, Quiktime doesn't do full screen and I want to watch it wth my TV... So either il need to convert it to divx or find a player wich supports *mov files and full screen.

Indeed! Just look at Season One TMNT;) heh

Seriously though, I cannot see how any of the anime detractors on here or elsewhere can even say anime sucks with a straight face after seeing this. I mean you'd only be kidding yourself to think anime sucks once youve taken a gander at this thing...and its only ONE of NINE breathtaking and astonishing anime Matrix shorts to come!

Anime DOES suck. And don't even go off saying that the new turtles show is animated by japanese people. That's probably the most ignorant thing I've ever heard for a good while. Anime is pretty much CRAP. The big eyes, the off colored hair, the annoying voice overs, it's all firggin stupid. But that's my opinion.

One: the new cartoon ISN'T being done by Japanese people.

And two: the annoying voiceover problem isn't with the anime itself, but the people who dub it. Anime rarely gets a good dubbing job when brought over to America-which is why I stick to subs. Your other two problems are simply refusals to accept another kind of art style. The hair, sure, you might hate it, but look what people are dieing their hairs to nowadays! And the eyes... I must be the only person who likes the eyes. Allows for more expression (and makes anime chicks all the cuter for it :D )

Oh and BTW, Anime does NOT suck!!!

WTF, yeah ok so I dont agree with you so I'm automatically wrong. Yeah why don't you get off your high horse and shut up. I could care less if I was the only person that dislikes anime, that doesn't mean I'm wrong. I stick to my opinion, ANIME STILL SUCKS.

Kali

Please don't turn this into an Anime arguement. It's alright for people not to like what you like. But that also does NOT give them the right to say it sucks.

And the eyes... I must be the only person who likes the eyes. Allows for more expression (and makes anime chicks all the cuter for it :D )
I agree with the expressions part. Human eyes are very expressive, but subtly. Sometimes those exaggerated expressions and reactions and features help get the point across better.

Of course, there are other techniques. And if you don't like the style, that's your thing, but please don't bash it.

I'll respect your opinion as long as your respect mine. By saying I'm wrong, how does that make right? ALRIGHT THEN, so lets just leave it to personal preferences and forget about it.

ANIME STILL SUCKS.

LOL! Guess someone didnt see the Animatrix trailer or new short! Well when you can get quicktime working for the link, come back and tell us anime sucks. Also be sure to close your eyes at all the anime influenced parts of the new TMNT show...wouldnt want 'anime sucking' thoughts to ruin the show for ya;)

Btw, people do know Transformers *is* anime right? Just feel bad for kids these days who only know of crappy kiddy garbage when it comes to anime on tv.

The new turtles AREN'T ANIME YOU MORON. Sorry, but I'm tired of you telling us it's animated by the japanese and that it's all anime. Get off your high horse and realize that the new show IS NOT ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM ANIME. UNDERSTAND THIS NOW. Oh and by the way, Bebop and Rocksteady are still cool.

It isn't anime, but it does has some influences.
I would download the AniMatrix movie, but my PC is already too full to handle a 30 MB file. Looks like I have to wait till the DVD comes out.

Here are some screen grabs from what I see as,"Anime Touches":

dude, were saying its anime influenced. c'mon now. Then again even if it was Japanese animated...does that mean ya wouldnt watch it? WHAT?? WHAT? Yeah...I feel bad for folks who have been so polluted and weened on the kiddy anime crap shown on American tv you wouldnt know kickass anime if it bit you on the behind.
Did you even see that Animatrix trailer or short? One really cant take 'anime sucks' comments seriously from someone who didnt even see those.

And yeah, Rocksteady and Bebop had their time, but thanks gosh their not in this new one.

Finally I will say that anime TMNT show from what I saw sucks ass.
So there is some validity to *some* anime sucking.

The new turtles AREN'T ANIME YOU MORON.
:sweatdro: i can't believe this guy...well first of all he was saying the tmnt is INFLUENCED by anime, not that it was anime, and obviously it is influenced by it indeed, just look at the speedlines and stuff.Gee.
Oh and "the annoying voiceovers" are called dubbed anime, one way for america to cut anime, edit its scripts, change its music, pay the dubbers 3 bucks each to do their job, then sell it to you, and you're just generalizing saying anime sucks, anime is everything animated made in japan, not just pokemon, so it'd mean you dont like the first season of tmnt aswell and that's just sad because that season rocked imo, get a clue and watch subbed anime, i'll get off my high horse when you get a brain.
Please don't turn this into an Anime arguement. It's alright for people not to like what you like. But that also does NOT give them the right to say it sucks.
I don't have an issue with people that says they dont like anime, but saying it 'sucks' then proceed to call everyone a moron is very different for me, so if he wants to flame something fine, but i'll obviously fire back, it's my right as much as donatello02's right to flame something, if he can't handle the consequences that's not my problem :p
Going back on-topic...hopefully :sweatdro: heh...anyone knows when the dvds are coming out?

TMNT has as much "anime influence" as the old TMNT show. There isn't any. Period. Get over it.

Nickokapo

 Sorry but speedlines are mostly used in anime series, only recently they've been used in cartoons to try copy the anime style.
Sorry to burst your denial bubble.

Kali
02-09-2003, 12:58 PM
Yeah, the speed lines are definitely an anime-style element. While I'd say this show takes inspiration from anime-style, it's not totally anime. They're NOT trying to make the show look like anime, they just went, "That a cool trick, let's try it!"

I don't consider any of my personal art atyle anime (excluding the drawings in which I'm trying to draw anime/manga style) yet I admit I take inspiration from anime and mangas I read. I take inspiration from American comic books too. An important part of creativity is being able to know a good thing when you see it.

Donatello02

Well I don't see the turtles with big eyes, blue hair, and small mouths. So no, not one bit of anime.

Kali
02-09-2003, 01:09 PM
Okay, have it your way. (Though a couple of the Purple Dragon gang members did have blue hair. :P )
