I am mad they cancelled nightmares recycled. couldnt they have rescripted it somehow!!!!!!!!! it did deal with conjoined twins as it had Hun and garbageman as conjoined twins. IT would have given us another Hun episode!!!!!!!!!! and more of a backstory to him!!!

isnt there a way for us to see it! I saw the other 12 episodes of the lost season on youtube.

I believe it was never finished. I have heard different things about that ep. I think it is only half finished. Watchable but no background music and little to no coloration. I cannon remember where I read this. I think maybe tortuga posted it. Anyway, chances are not good on seeing it but then again I never expected a fourth TMNT movie so everything's possible.

There is no way to see the ep unless 4kids releases it on a dvd which may or may not happen.

It was a filler episode of the lost season so there is no reason to worry about it, plus it seems like a dull concept anyways.

Garbageman has always been a garbage character. His garbagey lameness would be destroyed if this ep was ever even thought up. Since his only usefulness is to give us something to roll our eyes at, letting this episode be discussed is stupid and pointless.

It's a filler to give background to a character people didn't like simply because he had no background in the first place?

You people really can never make up your minds. You bitch about something and then you get it and you still bitch.

I liked the garbage man, he was a pretty cool filler baddie in my book. Reading the synopsis of this episode, it dosen't seem like something that is gonna haunt me. If Shredder Strikes Back had been cancelled during production.... now thats somthing that would piss me off in all kinds of ways.

I was just glad he was going to be given an origin he's sorta a loose end you know?

I mean they finally gave Nano a purpose. If you noticed Laird was going to do Nano and Garbage man in the Lost Season to give them closure and I believe that's because he knew fans hated those characters so he wanted to fix that.

I liked how Nano's story worked out so it worked on me. And Garbage mans sounds down right grim.

I liked Nano's ending too, And I'm sure Nightmares Recycled would have been good, I'm just saying it's no biggie. If you look at the way FF goes, one could argue the the lost season isn't even canon with the series (I personally consider it canon, but I'm just saying).

I know you agree with me in saying TLS is cannon but I'm curious how could you argue it isn't?

There's LS stuff in FF like Nano in the Justice Force and Mikey's new Turtle Titian Costume. Plus I count their lightheartedness as a result of how happy they are that they saved the world.

The question is, is Hun and Garbageman's relation canon or not for the series? :P It bugs me that they cancelled it, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I would have liked to see it though.

it would have been a good way to closure the garbageman thing. IT would have been a good story to have more hun action as he was only in a few episodes in season 4. i would love to have seen the turtles reaction. they could have found a way to make hun and garbageman's origin less bad and more acceptable.

HOW DO YOU THINK GARBAGEMAN'S BREATH SMELLS???? AND IF THE TURTLES SHRUNK AND GOT IN HIS MOUTH WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THEY BREATHED IN THE AIR?

the conjoined twins thing maybe a sensative issue (they had conjoined twins in an episode with killer croc once) and maybe they were going to have them chainsawed apart.

I love how you mention the Bone demon tell the turtles he will eat his soul, I actually found that funny. It would creep out kids.

I don't know if I'd have enjoyed a Hun centric episode since they changed the voice actor who plays him. It's the same reason we never see Leatherhead get any closure in the Lost Season, the voice actor was gone. Would have liked to see him get back to the Utrom Homeworld. And see the Turtles go there as well.

10-11-2007, 12:43 PM
No, sir. That was the same VA. They just forgot to run the process on his voice to pitch it down. As far as Leatherhead is concerned, Laird probably just didn't want LH taking any focus from the Turtles as he is the only exception to the 'no mutagen' rule. Though, why he hasn't been so much as mentioned since "Good Genes" Part Two is beyond me. :-?

Had Hun and Garbageman been just regular twins that were fully separated in the womb and the conjoinedness had not been an issue at all, would there still be controversy?

gobo
10-11-2007, 06:07 PM
Yes. The controversy stemmed from other themes. The conjoined twin thing was just a bit insensitive, and would have been alright on its own. But, with that, the use of back-alley medical treatment, the discarding of Hun's brother like garbage and people being scalded by acid, it was just too much.

I think it's a tribute to the Evil Dead. Swallowing their souls would have been too obvious. Although, the tribute to Evil Dead in "The People's Choice" was hilarious and well placed.

Okay, I keep hearing about this: will somebody tell me what the episode is like? People keep claiming to have read the script or whatnot--if you people have, will you PLEASE post some spoilers?

I've also heard it said that Case proposed to April at the end of the episode.

And as for the VA actor--get over it! Leatherhead didn't even have to say anything! They could have just had him shown in the background in "Enter the Dragons, Pt 1" where the TMNT gather all their buddies to go kick Shred butt.

Is it really that hard, 4Kids? One little scene? Agh, that just really ticks me off.

I'd be lying to say I didn't find it to be a slap in the face too, but let's remember that the Fast Forward ep he was in where the same problem was evident was available a while before the eps of TLS he was in. Well, from recent convention interviews in the general section, Garbageman's VA never even saw a script for Nightmares Recycled. So not only was the show not animated but I wonder if it even made it to the script stage at all. It sounds like this episode wasn't far along in development at all, just a summary idea they ran past the censors maybe, so it's not like there is much for us to miss. Still, a final Hun ep would have been nice.

Some people I had contact with that claimed to work on the show said they had some of it animated (as an animatic, I'd guess). But, if the VA never saw a script, it mustn't have gotten far at all.

BubblyShell22

Yeah, that makes sense. If the VA didn't see the script, it probably didn't make it past that stage where the VAs would've done recording.

odupianist

I had heard it was partially animated as well. And I found out why I thought that. This is directly from the main site...

"Synopsis:

Raph, Don, Casey, and April’s evening salvage operation lands them a one-way ticket to Recycle World – the Garbageman’s deadly realm of refuse! As if fighting for their lives in a world of lethal compactors and shredders wasn’t bad enough, they’ve got to do it all with Hun – who’s not thrilled to reveal that he and Garbageman have something in common – DNA!

NOTE: This episode was never completed. The script was finished and some animation had begun when 4Kids pulled the plug because it was deemed too controversial for a children's program (apparently Hun and the Garbageman were going to be conjoined twins that were surgically separated at birth). "

The VA's didn't know anything about the episode when asked recently at an event. I saw it on YouTube, but I can't remember the event right now.

I still wonder if Hun and GArbageman would fight with each other or against. and where garbageman would have gone in the end! In the end of his last episode he went down the earth's core (the episode was Junklantis). I agree with everyone that one more Hun episode would have been nice. I bet someone like Raph would make some remark of them being brothers.

Hmm. That's weird. Well, then obviously it had gotten to script stage and animation stage, but not voice acting stage.

That summary threw me off too. But there is no way it was animated first. North American cartoons always do the voice recording before animation to help with facial expression and such. It's why we have mouth movements that fit the dialouge exactly instead of just flapping mouths. it also allows the VA more freedom in their performance and to imporvise.

Now in Japan they do exactly the opposite - animate first then VAs and any dubbed show in the US would be done the same.

So was Nightmares Recyeled animated or not? Did the VA forget seeing the script or was that summary in error? The mystery deepens. But I'm inclined to go with what the VA said.

O_O That's something I've never considered. Since this ep was intended to be ep 6 of 13, the first adventure after their return to America, I really wonder how the writers were going to level the playing field so that Stinky-boy vs. two supercharged turtles, Hun, April AND Casey wouldn't be a joke of a challenge. I can figure that the Turtles may have been unwilling to focus their chi so as to hide their presence from The Shredder's Heralds. But, what's to stop them from using their new weapons that were forged by the gods?

CylonsKlingonsDaleksOhMy

BubblyShell22
10-24-2007, 08:02 AM
Yeah, we all know that Hun doesn't play nicely with anybody, so he wouldn't be nice to Garbageman even if they are related.

Also, as I have said before, I think that even though the medallions were destroyed, the Turtles could harness their chi without them. I think the medallions were more of a guidance for that, but they didn't do it in Fast Forward because it would've thrown us off if we hadn't seen The Lost Season.
