View Full Version : What collectible will you save?

A fire breaks out in your house and you, your family, and your pets make it out safe and sound. All your valuables are up in flames except all of your TMNT collectibles. A firefighter explains to you that he is willing to go in and rescue somethings but the only problem is that he can rescue two items before they all turn into turtle soup. Which two are getting out?

My Don the undercover turtle and my Skateboardin' Mike. (They've been with me since childhood and I couldn't bear to lose them) Then again what kind of firefighter would even recognise them? More likely he brings out two of the new turtles just as the roof caves in, the roar of the flames stifling my heartfelt wails as Mikey and Don perish, suddenly coming alive as more than just toys, to live for a few seconds, then die writhing in pain (their helmets/ hats preventing hem from safely tucking in their heads into their shells)

 At the moment my dvds and action figures (all 4 of them) are replaceable, so probably my vol 1 comics (would probably grab collected book 1,4&6 first - although if only one item is allowed, probably collected book 1).
However, I have a silly sentimental attachment to my Raphael action figure. If the movie figs weren't in shops anymore I'd probably save him. Although.... what about my Donatello plushie?????
Errm.... I don't like this question. Next please?

I'd tell him to just pull out my DVD drawer and grab my Mikey pez dispenser on his way out.
You suck for making me have to choose.
1) My soundtrack-related singles collection
2) My regular & platinum MOC Dark Horse Usagi figures (I'd never have heard of him if it weren't for TMNT, so there! :P )

Oh, this one is easy. Well, the first one at least.
Definitely my Mikey plushie (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v36/roseangelo/mike-plush.jpg).
For the second item I'd waiver on my box of magazine-sized comics (those would be the expensive ones) and my largest portfolio of original art.

Probably all of my old sketch pads full of tmnt art I drew as a kid. Irreplaceable 'n stuff.

I guess the comic box and the signed posters:| ..... but I would really feel a heart attack coming from all the old and new figs turned into plastic paste...

1. TMNT 2007 Movie Leonardo action figure.
2. The first Shredder action figure from the original toon.
I don't like thinking about such a sucky situation.

The collectable I will be saving is the very first comic issue. Or the original 1988 toy line with the four ninja turtles splinter, shredder and co.

I'd go in and rescue everything before the firefighter could even move. I'm ninja like that :p

1. my first edition copy of Raphael #1 (the one where Casey first appears, not the new Bad moon Rising mini) which I got on a trip to NYC years ago
2. my Coming Out of Their Shells tour cassette or my Shell Shock TPB - can't decide (either would be hard to replace)

The Coming Out of Our/Their (I can never remember which) Shells audiocassette is easily and cheaply replaceable if you know where to look. I found an online record store with a stock of over a hundred copies that is selling them factory sealed for $3 USD + shipping. So, you can scratch that from the list. ;)

With my hundreds of figures? Especially my Hundred Plus Foot Clan?
Christ, I'd go down with my men.

Ha ha, spoken like a true soldier. I don't think Krang or Shredder would ever go down with their foot soldiers.

My folder of original art and sketches (It'd be easier for the firefighter to pick the whole lot up than raid through it looking for just the one!! hehe)

Much like a captain, I go down with the ship!
Just kidding.
I'd probably save a lot of stuff, but I could replace most of my TMNT stuff. I don't have anything particularly irreplacable. I'd pretty much go for more sentimental items.
But I would try to save as many action figures as possible.
Sorry... they take a back seat to the Electric mayhem action figures, my Kid Goku plush, my Bean Bag of Inspector Gadget and my Darkwing Duck plush.

I'd want my big 22" old school Raph plushie and probably my copy of Kevin's Artobio :P cos he pretty much created Raphers...
My plushie Raph would be the hardest thing in my collection to replace, I haven't seen one on Ebay since I got him. The book is replaceable but, I'd want it..Kev signed it, he created Raph, Raph's his favorite. :D

I'd say my copy of the Artobiography and my Mikey pillow. That way I could have something to keep me busy while I have something to lay my head on.
