I did. I remember it like it was just yesterday. It was the first movie I seen in theaters.

I didn't watch the first one in the theater but I watched the second one:D
And no I don't remember it like it was yesterday, only fragments of it because I was just 5 years old at that time. But I remember I love them very much back then, and still do now.;)

Not in the theatres. Why? Because it was either watch it or go to Toys R Us. I do not know why it was this choice- and I do not remember if it was me or my brother who could not wait on the Toys R Us. So after we came back from our European vacation, we rented it and watched it many times.
The second and third and fourth ones I DID watch on the theatre.

I did. I only remember watching certain parts though: the turtles mutating, Raphael getting jumped, Splinter's story, and the turtles fighting the Foot and then Shredder.
I remmeber the first time I saw the trailer on television as well. I was in Maryland at my Aunt's house when it came on. I went running to find my parents to tell them.

i didn't get a chance to see it in theaters; however, when I saw it on VHS, i rented it over and over (never bought it though for some reason). Anyways, as I got into the Turtles as my favorite heroes, the movie was always there for me to watch.
I saw all three in theaters. :D Not discounts either. Go, me!

I also saw the three of them in theatres, I went to secret of the ooze three times I was driving my mom crazy I also made her take me to TMNT 3 while we where on vacation:P

It makes me feel old that everyone can't answer, "But of course I saw it in the theater!" I suppose one day it'll be a badge of honor kinda like it is with Star Wars, since a lot of Star Wars fans weren't yet born in 1977 (myself included).

I was 12 when the movie came out. We went opening day. The theater was in a shopping center and the line went out of the theater and around the shopping center. It was so insane. Needless to say, we came back another day. There was an annoying little kid in front of me the whole time screaming the turtles' lines.

I didn't see the other 2 in the theatres but saw TMNT 3 I rember my Grandpa was going to take me to see Jurassic Park but instead I wanted to see Turtles instead. My Granny bought me TMNT 2 On VHS and I taped the first movie when it was shhown on TV possibly on Christmas Day or something like that.

Yes I saw the first film in the theaters twice actually because I loved it so much and I saw 2 and 3 in the theaters as well but was dissapointed in 3.

I have seen all the TMNT movies in the theater. The first two I saw twice, the 3rd one I only saw once & the 4th one I saw 3 times...I was 12 or 13 at the time the 1st movie came out & it was all I could talk about for months! I was so pumped about the 1st one...ah, good times, good times indeed :D
I also saw all 4 movies in theatres. I remember the first one so well. I was 10I went with my mom back then. I loved it. When we walk out of the theatre I jump down the stairs skipping all the steps, feeling very ninja-esque :lol:
I saw the first and second films in the theaters and the third on PPV... I think. I definitely remember seeing the second film in theaters because it was the only movie my father took me to see. Ever. The first one I think my mother took me to. As for the third... I dunno... there's a blank there.

I remember going to see TMNT 1, I can remember, they were passing out pizza boxes that had pizza inside, that we can eat and watch at the same time, it was pretty cool :D. I didn't see TMNT 2 or 3 in theaters, but my mom rented them for me.

Hmmm it always strikes me as weird and puzzling that there are actually fans who love the turtles as much as us mid 20's people who are too young to have seen the turtles in 1990. But i guess that just shows the true awesomeness of the property as compared to say power rangers...
anyway I was not there on opening night for the 1990 film....I actually saw it a week early at a special sneak preview for what i believe was the fan club. I went to meet Raph at some furniture store (it was a guy dressed up in a suit. Yeah i don't know why he was at the furniture store either). But we went and my mom entered me in a drawing for tickets to the advanced screening and i actually won! It was awesome. Everyone got animal crackers shaped like the turtles and the box was shaped like the turtle van. And then just like someone earlier said they were also handing out pizza. Before the movie there were alot of games and prizes and raffles and such in the theatre....I didn't win anything:cry:
I also saw secret of the ooze on opening day and turtles 3 on opening day and TMNT at the midnight premiere. I also saw the turtles on the coming out of their shells tour and almost went and saw them when they were on oprah.

I saw 1, 2 and 4 in the theaters at least 2 times each.
I never saw the thrid one in the theaters, kind of wish I did so I could say I saw them all.. but it doesn't really matter to me all that much since the third one was bad... real bad... :dead:

I was born the same year SotO was released (almost 2 months after). The only movie I saw in theaters was TMNT (the new flick).

My nephews love the Power Rangers movie. :( I've banned that program from my house, just in case.

Well the turtles were still a pretty strong property until the mid 90s so that is why you still see younger fans.
And not to bring bad news but power rangers have proven to be more of a staying property. It has been on the air for the past 15 years and the toys sell a lot.

I was maybe four years old or so and I saw it with my dad. I don't remember much, except that I thought it was awesome, and I remember eating TMNT cereal that morning. :)

I badgered my folks to let me see the first one on tape. I was a hardcore TMNT head by the time Secret of the Ooze came out. That one we went to see in the theater as a family.

I was the only kid in my 2nd grade class who didn't see it. I lied and said I did, but of course when they asked questions about it, I got busted.:sick: Mom finally bought it for us on vhs.:D (she thought it was too violent...:roll: )

yes but i don't think it has quite the mass age appeal as TMNT does. people from 4-40 still enjoy tmnt i don't think Power Rangers has quite that range...at least i hope not. that show is awful.
anyway...anyone else go to the coming out of their shells tour?

I've seen all four Turtles movies at the cinema. The first one was my first cinematic experience. I was 5 and the whole atmosphere was fantastic. Popcorn in hand and Mum (yes 'Mum', I'm Australian) and Dad sitting next to me (they also took me to the next two). When it was over they bought me the soundtrack on cassette that same day and about a year or two ago I found it at a second-hand store on CD and, of course, bought it. They bought me the video for my birthday (I've obviously upgraded to DVD since)and I remember the actual video was green (I got a real kick out of that as the only videos I'd seen were the standard black). And this year I took my girlfriend to TMNT and I was almost as excited as I was back when I was five. My love of film, cinema and the Turtles hasn't changed!

I was lucky enough to have seen all four movies in theaters, though I was only 5 or 6 when the first one came out. I remember wondering why they changed Splinter's origin in the movie and why the Foot Soldiers were human instead of robots.
It wasn't until I actually read the original comics years later that I realized that it was actually the OT that changed everything.

You're wrong. PR has that mass appeal, take one look at the Tokastu and Rangerboard communites
And "thatz sghowz is awfulz" is a typical casual audience response. It's like assuming TMNT began with the original cartoon. Why don't you watch Power Rangers In Space, with the assisted suicide of Zordon and mind-rape as storylines, and get back to me?

I think I did, but I don't remember if it was this one or a different one.
I'm positve I saw the third one in theaters and I know I watched one of the others. I'm pretty sure it was the first one though.

I saw the original in the theater. It was a great birthday present for me, since I'm born in March.
And I agree with Buslady. I was a fan of Raph in the old toon, but the movie pretty much cemented him as my favorite!

Seen all 4 in theatres. Thankfully my mom's a fan too (a major Mikey fan) so she took me to see the first 3. I was 10 when the first one came out and saw it as soon as it was available in Germany at the military theatres (which I think was in like June or July of that year).

I was taken to the first one so I would shut up for my 9th birthday. I remember being so shocked that Casey Jones ACTUALLY took off his mask! ZOMG! Then he kissed April! I was like...THAT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN! :lol:

I saw the first 2 and the last one in theaters. And all things considered, I'm disappointed I didn't see TMNT 3 in theaters. It was enjoyable, jut not in the same league as the first one.

I saw the first one possibly on opening day, maybe a few weeks later, I cant remember because I had the flu anyway. I do remember thinking it was awesome, that two old ass comic book fans were next to us and I thought they were cool and weird for being there. I saw it again in the following weeks when I was conscious.
I saw SotO once and liked it, and TMNT III once and thought it was pretty dopestyle. This was when I was 7-9. When I watched them again years later, I found SotO to be insulting at best, vomit inducing at worst, while I discovered TMNT III to be the marvelous example of bold cinematic storytelling that it is. Truly, it is the greatest movie ever made.

I was shocked there was a Casey Jones period.
As was I. I remember yelling, "YEAH!" to myself when he dropped from that tree. Quite an enjoyable surprise for me.

I once stood up and screamed at a row of teenagers behind me who were making a lot of noise. They didn't make another peep the rest of the film, and I got an applause from the rest of the audience. People generally try to avoid confrontation, but sometimes you just gotta have the balls to speak up.

my mom went to see the first one but didn't get to because she said there was a line coming out of the movie theaters 2 blocks down!!!!!
my dad snuck into the movie theaters to see the first second and third movies!!!!!! he saw the first one 2 time, the second one 3 time, and the third one 1 time. all in the theaters!!!!! he didnt see the new one cuz he hadda go to work. my uncle is a crazed tmnt fan. he went to see the first second and third movies in the theaters. heres the list:
tmnt 1. 11 times
tmnt 2. 7 times
tmnt 3. 3 times
tmnt 4. 6 times
he snuck in the theaters to see all of them but the 4th one!!!!
he hopes to see the 5th one in the theaters for the record of 100 times!!!! i mean, it is the 5th....

I remember my mom paying for the tickets...dunno if it was a regular theater or a dollar theater.. anyways what i remember was staring at the poster where theyre looking out from the manhole...i was...thinking....'Theyre real??!' of course with being a kid sometimes when you see real things like that you think things are real i dunno i was confused....the ooze i think i saw it in theaters....the 3'red yes but i didnt like it as much.

I've seen all of them in theatres except the third. I knew it was going to be a stinker from the moment i looked at the trailer. Boy, was i right.
I had to beg my mom so many times to let me see the turtles on the big screen and growing up with Chinese parents, you oughta know this was an extremely difficult task to do. My mom was really shocked when I didn't bother asking to see the third one and that i said i'll wait for the video. Neither of my parents liked the turtles and neither of them bought anything TMNT related for me. that's why i had my grandpa to harrass for TMNT stuff.
