Over the course of the OT Towsend Coleman and Pat Fraley have provided many different (and I do mean different) voices.

To name just a few
Fraley: Krang, Casey Jones, Baxter Stockman, Burne Thompson, Slash, Napoleon, Zak,

Coleman: Michelangelo, Rat King, Shredder fill-in, Usagi Yojimbo, Hokum Hare, Screwloose

Who would you say is the more versatile VA?

I don't think I can answer this without being biased. :D

Coleman wins for not being absent so some horrid VA has to take his place alone.

And I hated Farely's Slash with a passion.

So true...

I know Old Toon Slash is not very popular around here (largely due to comparisons with his superior portrayal in the Archie comics, I expect). However, Fraley's voice was merely a reflection of the character design. He said as much in the recent DVD interview. Fred Wolf Films' Slash was a doofus (but a charming doofus, IMO) with big buck teeth, and Fraley played him as such.

I am smitten with his portrayal of Krang, especially in the first season. His inflection of high pitched squeels to baritone "burps" convinces me what a sentient brain would sound like.

And remember, Fraley was not originally going to be the voice of Krang, as the crew was already preparing to use a different actor until Fraley showed up and awed them. Can you imagine how we all would have been cheated out of the true Krang experience had Fraley not intervened?

That dosent mean he can't like his Slash voice, I hated his Casey Jones for the first 3 times or so that I watched CJ: Outlaw Hero. But this is for most versatile.

I put Townsend Coleman because it is amazing that somebody can do the voices of Michelangelo the goofball and Usagi the serious guy so well at the same time.

I went with Pat Fraley. I like the way he can come up with so many different voices that match the character design...so did Townsend Coleman, and it was a hard choice, but I can tell when it's Townsend doing a voice, whereas I found myself surprised to learn to Pat Fraley did the voices that he did throughout the show. They're both so awesome :)

Actually I liked his Casey after "Corporate Raiders" That scene where he's in the office building was one of the few times I actually laughed at the show. Usually I laugh because my roomie and I are making stoner comments.

they are both very versitale. I notice that actors choosen to voice Michaelangelo arec genrally very versital and have wide range with their voices and their performances. Townsend Coleman sounds very diffrent in just about every thing he does. In fact unless I already know it is him I can't tell him apart from one character he is playing from another. Unlifke the other turtle actors I can genrally pick them out when they are voiceing other characters even when they make their voice sound completely diffrent. But I with Townsend Coleman he just makes his voice sound so tottally diffrent I can never pick him out. Unless I listen very carefully, I can some times pick out some random characters that he voices in the show.

I like his performance as the Rat King, he did a very good job at sounding creepy and threatening but at the same time a bit comical. And is it me but does Townsend make Rat king sound like he is trying to be suductive every once in while when he is talking :-? especially when he speaks to April or his Rats :o. I also enjoyed his perfornce as Uasgi. He made Uasagi sound very serious and strong but at the same time calm and mellow and even innocent and niave. Great cobination for a Samurai Rabbit thrust into a modern world with things he isn't familar with. Now I know what Leonardo voiced by T. Coleman would sound like if he had been given the role as the fearless leader.

If I have a chance I'll post some clips of Townsend Coleman voiceing characters from other shows that are tottally diffrent from his role as Michaelangelo and you''ll see how range he has. ;)

It's a tough call since they're both very good voice actors, but I voted for Pat Fraley due to the fact that not only did he voice several significant characters, but he also voiced tons of side characters as well, and they often sounded very different from each other.

I don't think I can answer this without being biased. :D
Well, that might have had a little to do with my answer as well. ;)

here are a few videos of Townsend Coleman portraying diffrent characters from diffrent cartoon series. Each of the characters have different personalities from each other and he uses a diffrent voice.

here is a link to a clip from a Jem episode. Townsend Coleman is voicing a friendly optimistic guy named Cisco (the one with the black hair) who is blind and tries to encourage a character named Danse who is in a wheelchair:

and here is a clip from the old cartoon Teen Wolf where he voices the main character. A mopey down trodden high school boy who hates his transfermations:

and here is a clip from the cartoon the Tick where he voiced the main character the...tick LOL. This guy just sounds really diffrent here yikes:
