I hope Slash would be in the new show. That woiuld be so cool. It makes me sad that all the characters i know and love from my childhood and the cartoon would be gone forever with this new show. Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Slash, The Frogs, Mondo Gecko, Baxter as a fly, April being a reporter.
I really hope they have mutants. People or animals turning into mutants was the best. I always loved the origin story's i think that was one of my fav parts seeing how all the mutants become how they are and how they got mutated. It be kind of sad for me if was just the Turtles and Splinter.

I remember all those characters from my childhood, but even growing up I got a little tired of seeing the bad guys loose all the time. I would have liked to see Bebop & Rocksteady have been a little more dangerous & a little less stupid (intilectually that is). I honestly think they had the combined IQ of a slice of toast. I think the only time the two of them actually posed a temporary threat was one of the earlier episodes when Rocksteady always wore his helmet & goggles. All those characters were cool, but basically exist in an alternate universe then the one that is currently be constructed out of the new show.
I really hope they have mutants. People or animals turning into mutants was the best. I always loved the origin story's i think that was one of my fav parts seeing how all the mutants become how they are and how they got mutated. It be kind of sad for me if was just the Turtles and Splinter.
YEAH, mutants kick ass. If not on the cartoon, then in the toyline. I mean, the old toyline had a whole crapload of non-cartoon characters made into action figures & they sold well. If they hadn't have sold well, then Playmates would have stopped making them at the start.
I always enjoyed the origin story's too, they kicked ass. I was disapointed one time, when Shredder mutated some bugs into giant bugs & none of them were Needlenose or Killer Bee. :X
This new show is more like the original comic book stuff, which isn't a bad thing. Lots of cool, crazy crap happened in the original comics. In this new show, since mutagen doesn't exist & thus isn't the stuff that can magically make a mutant in seconds, I think we'd see more once-animal-now-humanoid mutants in the show.
Like, the turtles weren't the only mutant animals in the comic book- Leatherhead was created by the Utroms aswell, so it's possible the toyline could make up some story to have other animals the utroms mutated.
Hey, if they can make variant figures fit into the story, they should have no problem with new characters.
Basically, I wanna see mutant animal action figures, alien action figures, robot action figures & ninja action figures in this new line. If it's going to be like the 80's comic book, then it should have alla that stuff in the toyline too.
Or at least a new in-scale Leatherhead figure. If we can get that, I'll be able to die a quasi-happy snailman. :D

The origin of the First cartoon was changed only beacuse the original origin was too violent for TV. I wonder how they are going to do it this time.

Well karpo, I think that the parents are as strongly opinionated as they once were, I mean with shows like simpsons and south park.
And if you check out cartoon network, I think they can get away with a lot, there seems to be blood in powerpuff girls, and once i even heard butter cup swear... I think there was another show were they would swear and i was totally confused that they woudl do it in a cartoon.
Anyways, times have changed, and i think tmnt will be let by with a little more this time around.

Yeah? Oh... from Shredder murdering Hamato Yoshi and his love with the swipe of a sword. I think that is kinda violent... but isn't that what the kids want nowadays? It's not like families can sue for making the ninja turtles violent.

You say it like it's a bad thing?
I always liked mutant toys, but having a whole crap load of them in the new toon wouldn't fit with the storyline. But that doesn't mean we can't get aliens & robot stuff instead!
The cartoon shows are always my second concern, the toylines are always #1 priority on my list. All I want is cool toys, a decent blend of human/non-human figures. Playmates, just go to Peter Laird's "Blast from the Past" site, he's got a cripe-load of good ideas for stuff. :D
That & I'd like to see that Snailman figure be made. Hey, it wouldn't even have to be a mutant- that thing could easily pass for a Snail-like Alien.

Exactly. Maybe they could just do sewer-related mutant animals, but I think Rats are the only real things down there, with the exception of Leatherhead. OH! Idea!: A Goldfish that was flushed down the toliet, found by the TCRI aliens & experimented on alla Leatherhead & mutated into a mutant Goldfish!
I'm so smart sometimes it's scary...:D
Maybe if they start running out of ideas by like Season 4 or somethin', they might add in some mutant teasers once and awhile to have us think to ourselves:
"Did I just see what I thought I just saw?"
That'd be cool, like the turtles find out that who made them, also made other mutants before them or something. I think it'd make sense if they, at first anyways, stuck to animals indigenous to the sewers. Roaches, rats & any pet that got flushed & wasn't dead (goldfish, baby aligators, etc?).
In my humble opinion, that's a GOOD thing!!!
Very true..waitaminute: a good thing that Playmates will make mutant animal toys, or that there won't be endless amounts of mutant animals on the show? :-?
Snailman i thought the same about the Bug episode i thought i'd see Needlenose and Killer Bee. One of the bugs was a bee maybe it was a nod to the toy.
Might've been. The characters were always cool to me though. Killer Bee was a psychotic ex-con mutated into his present form of a giant bee. At least I think he was human once- unless was a normal bee, mutated & then he stole all the prison-themed paraphernalia & dressed himself up. What most people really don't know, is that both of them WERE characters, not vehicles or dumb mutant animals. They could talk & stuff, but were just large enough to be used as trasnport. That's how I'd make a mutant horse if I had a TMNT-like toyline to make. The mutant horse would have hoves for hands & feet & walk around like a gorilla (but not on the knuckles) & someone else could ride 'em around. He could still sit down & stuff, but he really wouldn't be able to grab anything. Or maybe I'd give him digits with hoof glove things to ware so he could "gallop" around if need be.
Yeah, well aren't they different things anyway? That not so logical mutate-into-whatever-animal-you-touched-thingie... :-?
That was always interesting to me. It'd have to be some pretty advanced glop to be able to alter the genetic structure of a organism, simply by exposing it to contact with another organsim. Hey, if a mouse touched a bug, then touched mutagen: would it mutate into a rat-bug? :-?
I guess bein' mutated would be kinda cool, provided it was something cool & still a mamal, like maybe a bat or something. YEAH, bein' a mutant bat would kick ass. Flyin' & stuff, sure make gettin'' to places easier then normal....but then again you'd be a mutant animal, so you wouldn't just be able to walk into a place anymore. D'OH!

Lemme see...ah, here's there file-card origin info. Maybe it'll explain the darker side of mutagen & why to never become a sewer worker in TMNT land. I just cut 'n' pasted the information that explains the origins, the rest of the goofy stuff I left out (as best I could):
Mutagen Man-
"Victim of Krang's insidious experiments, Seymour Gutz woke up from a lab table only to find himself hideously transformed into Mutagen Man - a pathetic, dripping, ever-changing mutating monster. Confined to a mechanical life support system that holds his mutating body together, Mutagen Man is now dependent on Ooze to replenish his deteriorating form. Forced to do Shredder's bidding in exchange for Retromutagen Ooze, Mutagen Man reluctantly performs dastardly deeds to get the substance his body so desperately craves. "
Muckman:
"Mutated with muck and transformed with trash, this fuming, former sewer worker oozes mysteriously through the city's sewer system, searching for morsels of muck, sludge and slime. "
Basically with Muchman: Sewer Worker + Lotsa Garbage + Mutagen = Guy who wishes he was dead on a daily basis.
I'd rather have mutagen then just ooze mutagen not only sounds cooler its just so cool, ooze just sounds boring.
Mutagen does have a certain ring to it, but if not called mutagen in the new show, then no big loss to me it will be.
Snailman you almost read my mind. I always thought a goldfish mutant would be cool. That and a leech mutant (Yeah i know there's Bloodsucker in Mirage), Beaver mutant and a Porcupine.
::nods:: Aye, that wouldbe kinda cool. We did kinda get a Bever mutant, although he was a side-kick figure & came with Monty Moose. There weren't many aquatic mutants though. Ray Fillet was one, then there was Merdude, but he wasn't a mutant- just some weird mer man type of fellow.
A mutant leech would kick ass, although we did get the Wyrm figure, so I guess thats kind of a leech? :-?
Hey, maybe they should just make a figure of Bloodsucker from the Mirage books?
A mutant porcupine would be a little hard to pull off with the spins & all. They could make the spines of a soft plastic so they wouldn't have to worry about hurting any kids with it.

Slash could work if done properly. As stated before, the Foot seems to have access to some sort of ooze with mutagenic properties. The Foot also have licensed geneticists. The Shredder also had some pretty messed up, deformed mutant clones. Slash came across to me, appearance-wise, as a cross between a Ninja Turtle on crack and the Shredder. What if the Shredder, in his quest to eliminate the Turtles, decided that the only way to beat the Turtles is to create one of his own. By crossing a sample of the Turtles DNA with a sample of his own, and inserting his own knowledge of the martial arts into this creatures mind, we have Slash, a highly effective TMNT exterminator with theirs and Shredder's physical attributes, and Shredder's far superior martial arts skills.

I don't know...but he brings up a good point. Bishop's been taking samples of mutant animal DNA, there is a posibility that he could clone Turtles, LH and Splinter. If he did clone a turtle it could very well be Slash...the 5th turtle we all know and loathe!

That'd be rad if Bishop creates a mutant similar to Slash. He'd totally wanna fight the TMNT. He'd be quite a challenge and he wouldn't go down easily. I would like to see a Slash on the show but I don't think it'll happen. Bishop might create a mutant simiar to Slash.

it could happen, Cowabunga. I could see evil clones, not sure if those count as mutants....:P We honestly don't know what Bishop has planed for that DNA but it can't be good.
I'm not sure where "Ther Shredder is Splintered" and the retro-mutagen ray has to do with it. The origen of the TMNT in the new toon is that they a mutated by an ooze. The mutagen in the old toon is diffrent in that it cross mutates speices, Turtle and Human, Human and rat...u know...:P

Since this Bishop character came into the mix, there's a possibility to have an evil, rampaging turtle, or turtles, in the show. Not exactly Slash, but a Slash-type character.

hi. this is my first time back on the forum for almost a year. Anyway, I'm reading a lot of anger in this topic, so I hope I don't tick anybody off by putting my two cents in.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Strangely enough, I'm actually trying to write a story involving Slash (but it's going slowly because quite frankly, I suck as a writer). The thing that very much interests me (and although it will never happen, I still think it would be ultra cool) about Slash is that he would almost be like a dark mirror reflection of a certain turtle. That being my all time favorite, RAPHAEL. I think if Slash, or any evil mutant turtle, were to ever come to pass, then him and Raph would have an interesting relationship. At least I think it COULD be an interesting one. Slash would kind of be the "what if" of Raphael. What I mean by that is, if Raph didn't have his family like Mikey, etc., then wouldn't he and this evil turtle be creepily similiar? Then Slash would/could sense that anger and frustration that he himself would probably feel (being alone, almost a Frankenstein quality to him). It would also give Raph an inner look into himself, on who/what he could have/might become. And the kid at heart in me would basically love to see these two fight, Raphael vs. Slash. It would be one bad ass fight between two turtles. But it could be much more than that, whether it's head games or even a fight within their souls (at least that's how I'm gonna try to get through in my writing). Maybe I'm just thinking too much, but I think it would be VERY, VERY COOL.

I had a similar idea not to long ago. I started to think about what Ralph would be like if he never meet Casey, certainly his rivalry with Leo would intensify...Perhaps he never pulled back and seriously hurt Mikey in Meet Casey Jones...What if Saki had contacted Ralph instead of Leo in "The Shredder Strikes" Part One. I started to think what would happen if he left the turtles and trained with Shredder, started to feel loyalty towards the Shredder. How would the events unfold in the Shredder Strikes Back and Return To New York with no April or Casey and Ralph at Shredder's side? What if that after Saki's death he becomes the leader of the foot, and is no longer Raph, not quite Shredder...he would be Slash. And what if he discovered a way to our world, what kind of trouble would he make for the green teens? after all, the Foot are going to need a new leader next season :)

I doubt they'd even consider bringing Slash. This show really takes after the Mirage comics, and Slash was introduced in the Archie comics, and this series is having absolutely nothing to do with Archie. Otherwise, we'd be seeing a lot of Archie characters: such as Ninjara, the Mighty Mutanimals, etc.
It's a nice thought, and Slash actually could fit in as being a creation of Bishop's from our green team's DNA. But I'm seeing no signs of Archie life in this series.

I have a feeling that the show would be more comedic and wacky if it had Archie characters on it. The new's show's too serious to put a lot of humor in it. It would make it look like a kids show when its for ages seven and up. It wouldn't really make sense for Archie characters to be on the new show. It would be weird if Ray Fillet was on the new show. That'd be weird. He wouldn't fit in.

I think Slash could work. He is sort of the darker reflection of the TMNT. Especialy of Leo and Raph. But he he's a bit more than that..He was a villian that became a sort of antihero, a comrade of the TMNT(in the Archie books), His charachter was only "goofystupid" on the old toon that I didn't care for. He could work out well in the new series. Sort of the TMNT's Venom or Sabertooth. Or Bane, or Hush...Or Lobo...Regardless, he or anoughter could work.
