who is your fav alternate of voice of shredder?

There was Dorian harewood (1989), Jim Cummings (1991 and most europeon midseason), Townsend Coleman (1993), William E Martin (1994 and 1996). I loved james avery voicing him and why did James stop voicing Shredder?

I've heard a lot of stuff about it hurting his throat.

Dorian Harewood did an admirable job as a fill in, every one else sucked pretty bad... but Jim Cummings blew the big one, I really can't stand his Shredder.

I was so sad that Jim Cummings sucked the most :cry: I loved him Darkwing Duck. His voice for Nega Duck was great, but when he applied the same type of voice to Shredder, it was so awful...I would have to say William E. Martin was my favourite alternative for Shredder.

Yeah, the worst thing about it is I've heard him do a decent job on bad guys before, but he pretty much sounded like Tigger on his man-period.

That's why Jim Cummings didn't like doing the Shredder's voice. That's probably why he wasn't that good... he just wasn't having any fun. Look at Darkwing Duck and Don Karnage. He must have had ENDLESS fun voicing those two especially. You can really tell. But I recal in an interview, Jim Cummings said something to the extent of "If I have to do the voice of something like the Shredder, I say, can I do it Friday so I can have the weekend to heel?" or something of that nature.

Still my #1 favorite voice actor, though.

I would have to say William E. Martin was my favourite alternative for Shredder.

He was pretty good, but Harewood actually tried to sound like Avery, and I'm sure he fooled a bunch of kids back in the day.

I liked dorian and Cummings!!! I liked Martin the least and Coleman 2nd least. I thought none were as good as Avery.

James Avery ruled. It was hard to pick a fave alternative, but I found Martin the least distracting of the alternatives.
