I heard a rumor back when “Return of Savanti Romero” was airing that the Turtles were going to be tied into the origin of the Triceratons.

I think it was when Don sneezed into the face of that raptor. The mutagen was probably supposed to spread to a triceratops, mutate it to intelligence, and create a spaceship or something.

Did anything ever come of that rumor?

Now that you brought up that episode, it reminds me that the show needs to adapt issues 46 and 47 with Savanti Romero and Shogun Chote in ancient Japan, I really hope that happens next season.

Nah, nothing like that ever happened. The triceratons are just aliens.

Sounds more like someone's speculation or opinion. TheCure is right though

It wouldn't even work. Say they did turn into Triceratons, how do they get into outer space and what not?

Anyone ever hear of alternate planetary development?

God, I love Triceritons so much. They're my favorite characters besides the Turtles themselves. Too bad I only got one of the three toys they made.

Hey, it was a rumor I heard. It's not one I thought was particurly likely, and for that exact reason. How would they get in space?

Now, if the raptor had just mutated eventually or something, that would be kinda neat. Jurassic Park meets TMNT, maybe?

And as for being full of questions, I merely seek to expand the limited frontiers of my mind... doncha know.

It's also a prevalent concept in Star Trek. For all I know, that was the show that even came up with the idea.

Actually, something similar happens here on Earth, too. It's convergent evolution (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convergent_evolution). On Earth you can basically explain it as similar traits resulting from similar conditions, even though the two organisms might not be related or even on the same continent. If you expand the distance to different worlds, it sounds like what happened with the dinosaurs and Triceratons.
