Enjoy.

Pretty crummy review, the dude says that the fighting is some of the best in the series... uh, there wasn't a single real fight in the whole season. A couple of other things he said made me wonder if he even watched the whole thing.

The lowpoint Muckman Messes up? HA! Worst episode is definitely by far Michelangelo the Sacred Turtle, that episode was so lame.

The worst were Donatello's Badd Time, Welcome Back Polarizoids, and Raphael: Turtle of a thousand faces.

But they weren't that bad.

I think it's all a matter of opinions....because I like the last 2 you listed.
And Muckman really is a bad episode because the episode has waaaaay to many flaws in it...like how shredder and krang should now be mutants.

They gave it a pretty good review for a non-hardcore Turtle reviewer. IGN pretty much trashed Season 4 (you can find it in their review section), so it seems like they liked Season 5 a bit more.

Decent enough review, and yes "My Brother, The Bad Guy", is one of the best episodes of the series period, and something much of the fifth season does'nt quite match even with some of its best offerings.

Ha, i watched it a few days ago and asked me exactly that. I mean krang makes sense, he is inside his robotic body, but shredder?
Still i think it was a good episode, flaws aside (i generally have my problems with the style of the episodes where krang has purple colored eyes...blöh).

Season five definitely has some iffy, but it's still fun to watch even in the worst of them. The series just doesn't feel as fresh and original as before. For example, the introduction of new characters like Napoleon Bonafrog and Mondo Gecko (a pretty cool character in his own right) wreaks of the kind of self-awareness that can make any show jump the shark.

Dudes.... uhhhhh didn't Napoleon Bonafrog appear in season 2 or 3?

The episodes are all presented in 1.33:1 fullscreen format. The video quality, while not shockingly bad, is certainly lacking. There's clearly been no attempt made at retouching anything. Dirt, bleed and another visual flaws are all fairly noticeable throughout the entire set. It's unfortunate that nothing has been done to preserve the series which is destined for classic status.

Did this guy pick up any of the OTHER releases? The ones that look like they came off of bad source tapes?

No it wasn't. I mean, it was a good episode and all, one of season 5's better ones. But the animation wasn't all that great, the fight was nothing, and they got the japanese name order mixed up.

Was still great and I don't see why we really agrue about things people are just posting their opinions.
What you believe to be true about an episode everyone may agree with or dissagree with like I'm saying it's all a matter of opinion.
I love the Mutagen Man episode the most but it's a really messed up episode.
I'd say my top 3 are "The Ice Creature Cometh", "Mutagen Man", & "My Brother the bad guy".

I'm not arguing with him, I'm just talking turtles. That's why I come here, to talk about TMNT with everyone. By the way, nice new avatar :D

It's all good man I know you do we've never had beaf before I just didn't want to see any rants about other peoples opinions starting up.
I'm sure it's bound to happen anyways.
And thank you just made it hehe.

It's cool, I try to avoid ranting.

Anyways, I wonder why IGN never did reviews for volumes 1-6.

The original series was always half about the fighting (which I loved) The episode had the show's best strength, quality comedy, and you should know better than to attack the show for poor animation when that was almost a mandate.

I admit, I almost completely agree word for word. Though for me, OT was stronger about comedy than action in most episodes. I can take poor animation (as long as it isn't as bad as SMB 3 was half the time) with a good script over good animation with a poor script. The one thing I always say is to compare Bullwinkle with Disney's Pocahauntus. One has superior animation and a terrible script and the other has terrible animation and a superior script.

I do find it funny that the animation changes from time to time depending on what studio animated it. Much the same I can say for any cartoon Warner's did in the early 90's. Sometimes it was great, sometimes it was off.

Mutagen Man was a Season 5 episode? I'd forgotten that!

(Huggles his MIP Mutagen Man figure and goes off to buy the set)

I didn't "attack" the show for poor animation, I was just stating that the animation on My Brother The Bad Guy wasn't any where near the best of the series.

the episodes were ok. I bought the dvd last week and the dvd cover is neat. why dont they include the 2 parter???????????????????????? some episodes may have been weak. its better than season 6. I realize this is when the series was gradually starting to loose popularity (1989 season was the hight of the popularity). the episode of the Turtles going into the future in the syndicated season is NOT IN THIS!!!!! my fav one was my brother the bad guy.
