Hello everyone. Im new here so i thought i would introduce myself.
Im Patrick/20/Chicago. New to this forum but not new to tmnt. Grew up on the
show, toys, games, misc related. For the past few years I have been back
tracking and have been trying to retrived the figures i trashed during my child-
hood in there MOC/NIB forms. But lacking some technical collectors knowledge.
I have no clue what c9 means or the actual worth of certain figures.
Unpunched, moc/nib, factory sealed is the extent of my knowledge.

Anyhow..a couple of questions.

How do you tell between the hard/soft heads of the first 88 series?
(other than feel because obviously i wont be able to if i seek MOC)

Personal preference of yours but which do you prefer..punched/unpunched?
(I dont really care how it effects the value but un just looks cleaner to me)

I think thats it for now..finally starting to feel tired.

Welcome to the Drome!!!!!! Anyways, good questions all around. I have no idea how to tell the soft/hard heads apart, but as for your c9 question, it goes like this. C9 is part of a universal scale that collectors use to determine the condition of a figure. it numbers from 1-9, with 'c' meaning 'condition'. c9 is the best. it basically means brand new.

I prefer unpunched but I'm not upset if it is punched because then I can hang it on the wall.

As for the soft heads, I really dunno either. I think if you have it infront of you and look at it yourself you can tell but if it is a pic online there is no way of telling.

It's pretty easy to tell if their soft or hard heads in the package. Just look at each figures head. If you see a "line" going across it from production, then it's a hard head. If you look at the head and it has no line, then it's a soft head. You definetly can't miss the "line." A well lit room or flashlight will help too. Another way to tell, which may work and may not work, look at the back of the package where it has the made in information. If it's in lower case letters, then it might be a soft head. If it has all upper case letters then it probably a hard head. like i said before, sometimes this works, becuase I have 1 or 2 where it doesn't met that criteria. And of course I'm pretty sure if it comes with one of those FCF "white paper" inside the package that it's a soft head. For mine they are at least.
