Season five was a much shorter season compared to the larger season four season. As a result I think the animation was of better quality and there less less stupid mistakes like turtles being colored wrong or turtles speaking with the wrong voice. But not so big on action or on going story arcs.
But one of season fives saving graces was its character centric episodes that focused on one turtle of the turtles. Even though this season didn'thave as many character centric episodes in it due to its shorter length each turtle got about two or three character centric seasons. Raphael in this season got two episodes dedicated to him. Hurry for him, finnaly he gets more attention when in most seasons he gets gyped in eighher not having any or have the least amount dedicated to him. :o So people same drill as the season four "best turtle episode" thread. Which of these two episodes about Raphael in this season showed him in his best light, or portrayed him at top form, or even which one was more entertaineing involving are favorite turtle in red?

I liked how Raph vs the volcano showed some character development. We saw that Raph turely wanted to make a difference in the world. Poor guy thought he was going to die.:(
Raph turtle of a thousand faces was good and funny as well though

vs Volcano probably featured the darkest theme of any OT episode, even though they didn't play off of it.

I put "Turtle of a Thousand Faces". It is a metaphor for Raph's complex personality. But "Raphael vs. the Volcano" is quite good as well. Two good episodes- considering that Raphael is my least favorite Turtle and season 5 is not all that hot.

No it isn't. The OT would never use an episode as a metphore.

Raph's personality in the OT isn't all that complex. He does little but spit wise cracks and fight.

Right, the title is a parody of that Cagney movie "Man of a Thousand Faces". It's like saying Plan 6 from Outer Space is symbolic of Rocksteady's broadcasting schedule.

I voted for Raphael, turtle of a thousand faces

But Raphael overall is very multifaceted. And by the time this episode aired, they had the Mirage comics, the OT, Archie, AND the movies. So people could see the various angles to Raphael's personality.

No, once again: this episodes name was a parody of a movie (Man of a Thousand faces, starring James Cagney) and the paraody some how tied into the premise of the episode, Raph was taking up disguise work... more than one face.
Other episodes have done this:
Inredible Shrinking Turltes, named after The Incredible Shrinking Man
It Came from Beneath the Sewers, named after It Came from Outer Space
Attack of the 50 Irma, named after Attack of the 50 foot woman
20,000 Leaks under the sea, need I say more?
Those are just a few, as well as many other episode titles that feature puns making use of other movie/show titles and common phrases and what ever might be going on in the episode. This as well as celebrity spoofs (Rondo=Rambo and McDonald Crump=Donald Trump) are just a thing the OT did, and it was funny, not metaphorical. ever.
The only episode of any TMNT series that I would call metaphorical would be Things Change. Letting everyone know that "change is good" and this won't be the OT.

But that is true about Raphael being multi-faceted, and a lot of universes had been introduced by that time to prove it.

Well, I'm not sure that was really referring to the OT...it was more about the storyline of that specific ep, the turtles being between homes. And change ain't always good, so I'd say what it let everyone know is "change happens".

Raph tries to fool his brothers into thinking he is someone else. He disguises himself as a criminal and fools the criminal's gang. Then the gang takes Raph, still disguised as the criminal and, and the turtles take the real criminal and massive sillyness breaks out. It's an ok ep, but just doesn't add much to character development IMO

Definitely the Valcano episode. It was kinda different from most OT episodes and I think even now seems fresh. The other one seems so typical and predictible, I suppose.
