View Full Version : How Do The Turtles Go To....

How do they go to the bathroom?
thesreddude
02-20-2002, 04:34 PM
I don't know and I don't want to know.
tkukoc2200
02-20-2002, 04:35 PM
I just think it's a funny question..
I don't think we really need to know, do we? (Why do I have the feeling someone is going to give a textbook answer to this question?)
tkukoc2200
02-20-2002, 04:39 PM
no we don't really need to know.. it's just a funny question to ask
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 04:40 PM
Hmm....being an azure turtle, all I can say is....we go to the bathroom very carefully.
It's one of those "The world may never know" questions. It's not even fun to debate about, unlike other "How do they..." questions.
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 04:48 PM
Ya, the world will never know. And I don't know if anyone wants to hear the actual details of the answer....it's kind of disgusting
Aye. Maybe we should ask different "How do the Turtles..." questions! Like how do they keep their leather pads in good condition in the damp sewers?
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 05:05 PM
Ya, how exactly is that possible? Those crazy turtles! They've probably got some sort of secret magical powers....
Magical ninja powers! Yes, that's how. Okay, next question...
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 05:11 PM
LOL!
How do the Turtles make/get their weapons? Do they steal them? Make them from scratch? Where do they get the tools?
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 05:38 PM
Now that question is a toughie....I don't know how they got their weapons. I always assumed Splinter had them ever since he moved in to the sewers.
*shrugs*
I always liked the "stole them from the bad guys theory" but it doesn't work in all cases. There are instrution books for making your own weapons. I don't think it would be that hard to make them from scratch.
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 05:51 PM
Hmm....wouldn't they need some sort of oven to be able to shape metal into swords (or sais)? I could see Don easily getting his weapon, and Mikey just needs to strong pieces of wood and a chain to make his. Leonardo and Raphael have their work cut out for them. Poor dudes.
Okay, next question... how do the Turtles get their money for pizza?
RaphRockz
02-20-2002, 07:00 PM
excellent question, hmm..... how would the turtles get the moolah for pizza?
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 07:03 PM
Uh....maybe you could apply the "getting it from bad guys" theory for this question.
RaphRockz
02-20-2002, 07:05 PM
Ahh Yes, in the first movie, they whip those guys trying to rob April's stone age van. Maybe after they tied them they snatched some cash.
coolmike1586
02-20-2002, 07:05 PM
yea well how do they..... JUS KIDDING!!!!
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 07:14 PM
Heh. Yup, I think they take a little bit of dough from the baddies so they can pig out on pizza.
RaphRockz
02-20-2002, 07:16 PM
after all, they can't live without pizza.
coolmike1586
02-20-2002, 08:14 PM
or as they say on Turtles in Time: Pizza Time
RaphRockz
02-20-2002, 08:21 PM
Did you notice on the first movie when mike was ordering, he said double cheese, ham, pepperoni. When they got the pizza, it didn't look like it has any of that stuff on there.
Of course it did, look closer. There was just a lot of cheese covering the other toppings.
coolmike1586
02-20-2002, 08:42 PM
yea they wouldnt of done sumthin that obvious i dont think
Not that it matters, pizza is pizza. Personally, I'd get sick of eating it day after day. I am getting sick of eating it week after week.
Hey, ever notice how in the first movie, Mike says, "No anchovies" yet in the first episode of the cartoon, he eats a pizza with anchovies.
RaphRockz
02-20-2002, 09:51 PM
You're right Kali, I noticed that.
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 10:57 PM
During the long weekend, I was able to watch first movie and the first 'toon episode. I never noticed that difference 'til you pointed it out, Kali. Very observant
Just something that struck me as odd. Of course, the movie Turtles wouldn't like a LOT of the things the cartoon Turtles ate. What was it, anchovies and... peanut butter? Ice cream? Something like that.
Skeletoncrew
02-20-2002, 11:15 PM
Back to the money issue...People drop stuff all the time. I could picture them finding money, jewelry, etc. Of course, I'm sure that if they found a wallet they'd find a way to return it to the owner.
Yeah, but enough to buy pizza for four growing teenage mutant ninja turtles? And sushi for Splinter? Everyday? Pizza may be cheap someplaces, but I've yet to see a cheap sushi platter.
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 11:20 PM
Hmmm....maybe. They're good turtles, after all.
Skeletoncrew
02-20-2002, 11:30 PM
Okay, maybe they're selling their bodies on the streetcorners.
*glazed-over look*
*runs to check her bank account*
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 11:33 PM
 LOL!!!
Seriously, SC, how much would you pay?
Skeletoncrew
02-20-2002, 11:37 PM
Hah hah hah! I was expecting to get beaten for that flippant little comment!
Beaten? It was a damn good idea. It would make a sick fan fic. Oh, perfect title... Desperation. *demented giggle*
Skeletoncrew
02-20-2002, 11:40 PM
How much would I pay for a night with one of the Turtles? Hmmmm...I've never had to pay, so I'm not sure what the going rate is for that sort of thing.
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 11:41 PM
Sounds like this thread is going towards the hentai direction
I don't know either. Maybe just a large pizza.

Okay, then for your sake, we'll stop. Or in the very least, won't sink any deeper if we can help it.
Skeletoncrew
02-20-2002, 11:44 PM
Hey! We're being good!
I do pay $40 for full body massages. But I'm sure what I'm thinking about would cost a good deal more than that.
*nods* Of course, we're kinda staying on topic. We're trying to answer another "How do the Turtles..." question.
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 11:48 PM
LOL! I don't mind if people go hentai, as long as this blue turtle isn't involved
Oh man, we've strayed way off topic!
*runs away to avoid the off-topic police*
Skeletoncrew
02-20-2002, 11:50 PM
I agree though, it would cost a lot to feed all of them. Of course, many of the fanfics have them dumpster diving and scavenging...and I think thats fairly realistic. Depressing, but realistic.
That said, its time for me to go eat pizza! Goodnight!
We have off-topic police?!? Are you SURE? 'Cause we've gone off topic worse than this before and never got busted.
azure turtle
02-20-2002, 11:58 PM

Gee, I don't know....I just hope they don't exist in this forum!
Have fun, Skeletoncrew! Bring us back some leftovers
Uh, what were we talking about here?
azure turtle
02-21-2002, 12:27 AM
I completely forgot. Hentai????
Oh yeah! How do the Turtles... *snicker* No, I shouldn't finish that in my current state of mind.

Heh heh. I bet you were about to say something naughty

You can always consider that Yoshi might have had a bank account, maybe they used a lot of the money left in there after Yoshi's death?
Good point.
Were there ATM's back then, because I doubt they could have gone into a bank to withdrawl it. Maybe Yoshi had cash in the house. Cartoon Yoshi definitly didn't have any money.
I think they mostly scavenged stuff. I mean, you wouldn't believe what people throw away (from an amature dump diver.)
HorseTechie
02-21-2002, 09:27 AM
why.. they make like Robin Hood and steal from the rich!
Or as I pondered in my first fanfic, they...
1. Used Hamattao Yoshi life savings (like, Don hacked into his account at the ATM like in T2) No...?
2. They played the ponies! Played the lottery, placed bets on sporting events...?
3. But my fav.. they found jewelry to pawn, or collected loose change and the occasional dollar bill in the sewer... and least but not last, just plain begged people to donate to help em out of their horrible misfortunate skin desease. ;p
...who simply believes the TMNT go to the bathroom the same way we do!
azure turtle
02-21-2002, 06:01 PM
Hmm....all good suggestions! I guess we have a lot of theories now as to how the turtles get money. But one thing always bothered me about the cartoon. How did Splinter find ingredients to make sushi? It boggles the mind :???:
You can order take-out sushi, just like pizza. Problem is, it's a lot more expensive. Or maybe he did make it himself, though fishing in the sewers does not sound appetizing.
azure turtle
02-21-2002, 06:36 PM
Fishing in the sewers?! Yuck!!! I'd rather battle the Rat King then eat sewer sushi......
Skeletoncrew
02-21-2002, 06:38 PM
Maybe he's a magickal rat. All he has to do is wiggle his nose and *bam!* sushi on the table!
Or maybe whatever it is that I'm coming down with is rotting my brain.
azure turtle
02-21-2002, 06:40 PM
LOL! Ya, just like Samantha from Bewitched! He's a radical rat, after all. Maybe that implies that he's magical?
Yes, it's the return of the Magical Ninja Powers!

Or something to that effect. To the tune of Mr. Mistopholies from Cats of course...
My brain is definately rotting.
azure turtle
02-21-2002, 06:54 PM
Mr. Mistopholies! Yes! Cats! Ummm.....I don't how you came up with that, Skeletoncrew. I'm very worried...
*feels her forehead*
Do you feel okay? Are you coming down with something?
Skeletoncrew
02-21-2002, 06:57 PM
I AM coming down with something. My throat has that irritated feel, my head feels icky, and you know those glands near your jaw that swell up when you're sick? They're swollen and aching. I don't feel like I have a temperature, but I'm definately low energy.
Of course, today is my day off. I'll probably get well in time for work Saturday.
I'll take care of you! I hardly ever get sick, so I wouldn't have to worry about catching anything.
azure turtle
02-21-2002, 07:00 PM
Poor Skeletoncrew.
*gives her some tynenol cold*
Have some of this! Drugs make people feel better. Somehow, I think this had a double meaning.....
Anyway, I really hope you feel better, Skeletoncrew! Being sick sucks, so get well soon!
Skeletoncrew
02-21-2002, 07:04 PM
Thanks, but I'll have to refuse the tylenol...I avoid meds when I can. And its best to avoid fever suppressents unless you have a major fever. Not sure whether I have one or not.
I did go ahead and get my favorite "sick" food...pizza! Don't ask me why, but I tend to crave it when I'm unwell. I guess its comfort food.
I can't eat a thing when I'm sick. Come to think of it, I don't eat much when I'm well, either.
Skeletoncrew
02-21-2002, 07:14 PM
I'm a foodie. I love good food. I'm not eatting much right now...but when I'm like this I'm very picky about what I will eat.
Just looking at food makes me sick sometimes. I'm not really sick or anything, just the thought of eating makes my stomach do flips. Except chocolate, although sometimes I refuse to eat even that.
Skeletoncrew
02-21-2002, 07:20 PM
I have some sort of a blood sugar issue...I have to eat a little every two hours or so. Otherwise I become evil or ill feeling.
Otherwise you become evil? Wow, must be some condition. I just eat whenever I'm hungry. Unfortunatly my mom still feeds me like I'm going through puberty. I've stopped growing! I don't need that much food!
Skeletoncrew
02-21-2002, 07:27 PM
Heh heh heh...yeah I can get nasty if I'm not fed on time. Fortunately, I've been losing weight, not gaining...so I must not be doing anything wrong.
Losing is good, but not too much. I need to drop about five pounds, myself.
Skeletoncrew
02-21-2002, 07:48 PM
I've still got some extra to lose. I'd never let myself get too thin. I don't think its attractive.
azure turtle
02-21-2002, 07:57 PM
Oy! Skeletoncrew, I think you're fine the way you are, dudette. If you don't wanna take any medication, then I shall offer a prayer for you to the great turtle gods. And I hope the pizza you ordered will soothe your illness

azure turtle
02-22-2002, 12:58 AM
Yep, I know the feeling. I got sick the first week of my first quarter in college, and no one was around to give me chicken soup, or bring me some food. Hell, no one really cared  But I got better, and I'm doing fine now (except for the stress and work part). I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better, Skeletoncrew!

It probably helps that I got some good news today too...I'm going on a two-week trip to Italy, Sicily, and Malta in May! Its a historical tour/lecture through Purdue University (where my dad is currently a student in their Masters program, as well as a teaching assistant). My dad decided that he wanted to go, and we've barely seen each other for about 3 years, so he's taking me with him!
azure turtle
02-22-2002, 01:13 AM
Dudette! That is SO awesome! I have always wanted to do a European vacation! Is this your first time going to Europe?? Man, almost everyone I know has been to Europe. Friends, family, etc. Everyone except me! I'm sure the Europeans would enjoy seeing a blue turtle grace their respective countries....
And oh! My friend said Italian food (authentic) is some of the best food he's ever had!
*drools*
I hope my parents decide to go to Europe sometime soon!
Skeletoncrew
02-22-2002, 01:18 AM
I went to Vienna, Austria when I was much younger. It was WONDERFUL. I also went to England in 1996. I love the age of things over there. American architecture just doesn't tend to have any soul as far as I'm concerned.

02-22-2002, 01:28 AM
You know whats funny? I understand the Turtles visited Paris. (In the cartoon? My memory is fuzzy.) Personally, I don't think they'd want to go anywhere near Paris because they don't wear shoes.
I read that Paris has a serious dog poop problem. There's something like 3 dogs per person there, and people don't clean up after them well. There's also a certain amount of people who are injured on a daily basis by dog poo slip and falls! How embarassing/gross would that be?!
azure turtle
02-22-2002, 01:36 AM
EWWWW! That's disgusting!

Here's one: How does Mikey sell his poems and stories? If he's getting checks made out to Mr. Michael Angelo he can't exactly give them to April to cash.
azure turtle
02-22-2002, 02:03 AM
Hey, that's true! I never thought of that. Maybe April has connections with the bank? Y'know, she's got a cousin who's the bank manager, who accepts the check. I really don't know any other explanation...

Purdue U? ohh.. that's cool! Since I live in Indiana, that college had been on my list of possiblities. I ended up going to Findlay U in Ohio instead.
But, whoa... you're going abroad in May?
Okay, I go back on topic now... (good question!) Well, I think Mike could be using April name as a pen name or something, so then she can cash them...?
First, I think it's so cool that you're going to Europe!
Okay, as for the question. I know! I did this with my parents! Before I got my bank account set up, I used to sign my pay checks over to my parents, then they could cash them, and give me the money.

No. I don't want a pet turtle. I was at the book store and decided to see if they had any books on them. There are surprisingly few. Turtles just aren't terribly popular reptiles. I guess they're not as sexy as snakes, nor cute as lizards. Or some such nonsense.
If I were to get another pet, I want a rat again! They rock!

So no one has any idea what species of turtle the TMNT are?
azure turtle
02-23-2002, 09:05 PM
I've got no idea. I'm assuming that they're the most common species of turtle, probably those box turtles you mentioned earlier. I don't think this was ever discussed in the cartoon and definitely not in the movies. Were there any hints in the comics or TNM?
Skeletoncrew
02-23-2002, 09:10 PM
Not that I've seen. But box turtles have rather distinctive red and yello facial markings. Though come to think of it...I may have read something where Splinter mentions their markings fading as they grew. But that may have been a fan-fic. I don't remember.
azure turtle
02-23-2002, 09:12 PM
Huh. I can't really help in the comic area, since I've just started collecting those. As for TNM, I didn't get to see as many episodes as I had wanted. Maybe HorseTechie or Kali can shed some light on this topic.
I don't think we'll ever know what species the Turtles are, unless you want to ask Peter or Kevin. I can't recall any canon hints, but people have mentioned red-eared something or other, and maybe box turtles.
azure turtle
02-23-2002, 11:48 PM
Box turtles seem to be the most mentioned type of turtle. Maybe they really were box turtles. I don't think this question will ever be answered, unless Eastman or Laird spill their guts.

SPEEd
02-24-2002, 08:44 PM
Ok I think I seen zits on the turtles in TMNT: 3 on Leo and Don. Like big dots.
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 01:17 AM
Well, they ARE (or rather were) teenagers. Teens and zits go hand in hand!
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 01:20 AM
Okay, you've got a point there, Skeletoncrew. Hmmm....it's kinda weird, since only human teens get zits, but they're turtle teens. Wait a minute, is this an oxymoron? I'm so confused :???:
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 01:21 AM
I guess it all depends on how human they are. They seem to be more or less turtle in different incarnations. For instance, they didn't have tails in the movies (I haven't seen the third), or the cartoon. That indicates slightly more human anatomy to me.
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 01:26 AM
Hey! That's true! I've noticed that too. They only seem to have tails in the comic books. I always thought they left the tails off in the cartoon just for simplicity, but the movie doesn't have them with tails either. That's odd.....
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 01:29 AM
Maybe that was for simplicity too. Perhaps the tails would have gotten in the way and broken off.
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 01:31 AM
*grabs his tail*
The horror!! I don't want anything like that happening to my precious lil' tail!
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 01:33 AM
Especially considering how important the tale is to male turtles!
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 01:37 AM
*sweat drop*
Eh, heh heh....of course! It's very important!
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 01:39 AM
I read all about it Friday night...I had no idea just how imporant that portion of turtle anatomy is!
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 01:44 AM
*quickly pulls out a book on turtle anatomy*
Now, lemme see.....why exactly is my tail so important to me?
*starts thumbing through the pages*
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 01:47 AM
*laughs at Azure*
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 01:54 AM
*finds the info. he's looking for under the chapter about mating*
Great oogly moogly! So that's why it's so important! I better keep a closer eye on my tail....
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 01:57 AM
Indeed! And that information is also what makes the tailess turtle incarnations just a little strange.
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 01:59 AM
Tail-less turtles?
*shudders*
I guess the movie and cartoon versions of the TMNT are more human than their comic book counterparts.
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 02:01 AM
Guess so. So does that mean they're wearing green BVDs under their shells in the cartoons?
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 02:03 AM
Huh. I wouldn't know. I've never tried looking up their shells.
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 02:07 AM
We'll have to ask Kali. That sounds like something she'd do!
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 02:10 AM
 It'll be interesting to see what Kali's response to this is. Hopefully, she'll feel a lot better tomorrow when she gives us her input.
Skeletoncrew
02-25-2002, 02:28 AM
Hope she doesn't beat us soundly for suggesting that she'd be peering up turtle shells!
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 02:29 AM
Ah! I hope not!

*lol* gee... I miss out on a LOT in a day!
But yeah, ever since doing a full-out report on normal turtles for Biology -- I also forbid the notion of tail-less TMNT!
I also think the TMNT are three-toed box turtles. Cause the other turtles with bright red and yellow markings on the head are water sliders (or painted turtles). Those type also have webbed feet.
Yeah... I spent my childhood watching PBS and the Discovery channel to become the science nut that I am.
nonethess... I was ROTFL the first time when they showed how the Galapagos tortoises get it on...
Machias Banshee
02-25-2002, 02:06 PM
oy, the memories...
With the cartoon turtles, i thought their tails were just curled up or something.
Strange question alert---
If the turtles are part turtle/part human, how would they mate? I dont think reptiles have the exact same equipment as mammals. I dont know, never exactly ever got that far... um i mean, i just wondered.
*hopes Kali doesnt see this reply*

Heh heh, too late. Though if we are going to debate that particular question, we should make a new thread, to warn people.
But I don't know either. I always thought they were human enough to mate with humans, if not reproduce.

Dudette, you are seriously hardcore....
I don't think I can last one turn on the rack.
Don't worry, I won't ask you to try. Seriously though, I need to look into getting something like this IRL. Something that'll help me stretch, though I think I'll do yoga instead of springing for a rack.
azure turtle
02-25-2002, 10:29 PM
Yep, I think Yoga is a safer bet than buying a rack. Then you'll be able to bend your body into all kinds of strange shapes. Won't that be fun?
 Yes, that would be loads of fun. Although the rack has its advantages too.
SeaThreePeeO
02-26-2002, 05:42 AM

Bendy bendy!

Problems sratching your back? PA! a thing of the past!

HorseTechie
02-26-2002, 09:54 AM
Nah... you don' need a rack. Just a willing participant to pull at your limbs!
Lessee... hubby as walked on my spine, pulled on my arms and legs and neck till I was pleading mercy, and then breaks out the oil... *ahem* ;p
Oh, speaking of 'correct turtles' I do know that the back flipping Leo and Raph DO have tails!
azure turtle
02-26-2002, 11:39 AM
Woah, calm down there, Kali and HT!
So some action figs do have tails? This whole "tail" issue is rather mysterious....
HorseTechie
02-26-2002, 01:29 PM
*looks innocent*
Yeah... another reason why I've wanted one of those back flipping figures. They're so illusive now...
But the Mike and Don figures don't have tails? Did they make a back-flipping Mike and Don?

Speaking of at home teachers My daughter's Play Therapist (Spell?) loves to read my fanfics and look at my art when she comes.
Or maybe it's bacuse I lock her in the house until she looks at them

Pa! teenagers! Nothing! You should try raising an ADHD toddler with the strength of ten men and an attitude to match. It's like living with a mini Raph, I have to be careful what I say to her.
