So if you could make a tmnt line
What would it be like
which characters would be in it ?
How many points of articulation?
different variants?

I'd make a mostly-villains assortment, probably based on the older video games. Off the top of my head, I'd throw in:

Chrome Dome (with go-go-gadget extendable arms/legs)
Aska
War
Armaggon
Roadkill Rodney (alternate drill head, opening chest panel to reveal laser, bendy tentacles)
Shogun (removable head)
Foot Soldier Factory boxed playset (comes with several foot soldiers, in various states of completion, that you can take apart and mix-and-match--some have all the android parts exposed, some parts are clothed, etc) Playset would consist of a robotics laboratory, possible with 'operating' table and arms, along with foot soldier 'birthing' chambers.

Articulation: At the very least, neck, shoulders, elbows, waist, hips, and knees, but preferably more.

No variants, I don't like them--they're mostly a sad ploy to get you to buy the same thing twice. 'Uncensored' Aska in a thong would be the most likely candidate though.

I would do the line I've always wanted and it would be called
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Universe"
And we could pull any character from any medium ever and made them into a highly detailed well articulated line of amazing characters.
We could have large figures come in box sets instead of box sets of characters who where never in any tmnt medium like that dinosuar and the yeti 2 pack.
I don't think playmates or peter liard realize the potential they're missing out on by doing a line like this.

Same idea as Putrescent:

mix of Mutanimals, General Archie Comics characters, Live action movies/Next Mutation, classic toon, 2k3 toon, FF.

I would prefer 5" scale, but 7" scale would be ok. I would like to see a good variety in each wave as well. And as for the larger figures, yes box sets would be good, but what about BUILD A FIGURE like they do for Marvel Legends? Wave 1 could be a Foot Clan Exo Suit like they used when they attacked the TMNT in season 4. Wave 2 can be Shokanabo from FF. This way, everybody wins. The FF fans can finally get the figures that exist but are in limbo (Biggles, Triple Threat, Inuwashi Gunjin) and those who don't like FF will have new characters to buy.

And a Ninja Tribunal box set. Collector's edition Mirage TMNT box set w/diorama base. Classic Villains box set featuring Krang, Shredder, Rocksteady and Bebop.

I would get a new company to handle the line... Fire playmates. They had the run for years. New blood better articulation. Branded by catagory:

Movie Line
Comic Line
Cartoon Line

Less variants, more multipacks.

Nuff said.

Id make every character from the original cartoon,2k3 series and every movie(except part 3 :P ),they would be large highly detailed figures, about as big as the "Masterpiece" line of Transformers and they would have the articulation of the recent movie figs and then some.

I would also include all the characters from the "Lost Season"....especially Demon Shredder and the Dragon Turtles(they'd have too be even bigger).

Heck,Id even include 'Fast Forward' in all this,as boring as it was,IMO alot of the character designs were pretty cool.

Might as well throw in a talking feature where each character says at least 3 diffrent phrases too.

Mirage Legends. Nuff said.
And then the line would only be for mirage characters gotta make a name for the line that would cover everything.
I think TMNT legends would work better on your same idea though :)or tmnt : mutant universe like I said before.

I'd rather see upscale collectables from the comics. Maybe monotone black white and grey figures as rare varients.

A line of TMNT Old school would be great too, provided they're new sculpts and look like the cartoon versions.

I agree with those ideas 100%

Upscale collectibles really are a must, IMO. It's a very typical evolution for a collector to go from spending money on lots of little things (like basic action figures) to spending the same amount of money on fewer, higher priced items. The upscale stuff also does a better job of holding its value (which makes it easier for me to spend the higher amount of money - I know that if I get in a bind I won't be forced to sell it for peanuts).

Unfortunately, TMNT has never really been marketed for an upscale buyer. The statues were an unfortunate situation in this regard, because they're awesome and had they been marketed well (or at all), they would have easily sold as many as they wanted to.

I hope someone takes another chance at it, as this is exactly the kind of thing I'd be all over.

I would hope not! Now we just need 1998 more peeps to convince a company to go for it.

I honestly don't think that would be that hard.
I wouldn't have sold off most of my tmnt collection during these hard times either if they where exactly the figures I've always wanted.
I wanted highly detailed posable figures who actully look like the characters many of us know and love.

They've barely scratched the surface as far as available characters go. Look at the huge Mirage, Archie, OT, and 2k3 universes. They would NEVER run out of characters!!!!

And I agree, higher priced items would rock. Imagine if we had a Sideshow style prop replica line!!! Shredder's Helmet, Ooze canister, etc. Maybe even a TIME SCEPTER FROM TMNT 3!!!! *ducks tomatoes* Or maybe just from the first two movies?

Sideshow doesn't do props. 8) Master Replicas does, though, and I think they'd do a fine job at a TMNT line.

And I think either Sideshow or Gentle Giant would be the ideal company to work on other upscale TMNT collectibles.

They do lifesize busts, but they don't do stuff like helmets.
