The Terror of Death

If FF had better ratings than the last 2 seasons of tmnt why was season 2 canned?

VaughnMichael

because Peter Laird said so and that's that.

Yea, I'm sure Murphy told him how we were reacting here (even the little tards over at the 4kids website message board hated it) and didn't like that, I highly doubt he even liked it himself.

Scandia

Because they decided the regular 2k3 run is better. And that there are some things more important than ratings. And since the movie was so successful, they can return to the regular 2k3 time with many new viewers- starting with myself.

Interesting. How much control does he have over the show?

I'd imagine he can do whatever he wants.

Peter does the approving and can do as he wants really. I think they create something, present it to him and he gives it the go or no-go. I dunno.
Thank God he is in control too.
He wants FF gone and things back to normal now, and he means it. He really cares about how they're shown to the world it seems.
Kinda what I like about this situation is that there is a CREATOR behind the scenes here who cares what happens with HIS creations; unlike the run-o-the-mill stuff like Kirby, Bratz, etc....there's just some big company looking for profits behind those. I hope I made sense.

I think people over react allot it really wasn't as bad as people make it out to be if you sit and watch the entire series it's still not as bad as mirage volume 4.
And btw no one needs to tell peter anything isn't that right mr. lurker?

You don't know that for a fact scandia all we've been told thus far is that the new show is going to be more like the new movie which honestly has me more worried than Fast Forward which was corny while the new movie is a snooze fest.
I'd imagine he can do whatever he wants.
Actully like help come up with Fast Forward which everyone wants to seem to forget that he had his hand in the cookie jar as well.

I wouldn't say that Fast Forward was totally awful, but there were aspects of the show that were just not needed (The brightened and ever so 'pointy' character designs, Cody, etc.)

With comments like this, I'd find it easy to assume you're a gimmick poster, a corporate spin doctor, but evidence to the contrary suggests otherwise.

How can you stick up for certified crap on a stick in spite of a succesful, crtically acclaimed majority favourate like TMNT? You are a fine little guy with one hell of a bias, but Its comments like this that get me pissed at you at times, you just wont accept FF sucked, it tanked with the audience, and that its just not as good as you and Spit spin it to inexperianced or loyal viewers. Whats wrong with admitting you lost? FF is gone now, its over, its never coming back, and noone will miss it.

Because I know what I like and I know what I don't good enough for you?
I like things from each tmnt world I like the turtles period not because its cool or trendy to enjoy something.
No in fact when I first saw the movie I was gaga over it but frankly the movie world should stay just that the movie world.
I watch my 2 Fast Forward sets more than any of my 2k3 sets besides the halloween monsters one.
I enjoy chreatures and monsters and crazy looking characters you can blame the 70's & 80's for that one.
The only dvd's of the turtles I watch more are the old toon one's because I grew up with those episodes and they got me through allot of hard times as a teen I was also pretty much devistated when the series ended because I was there right along with it that's why I hold into the dregg episode so tightly and enjoy red sky so much.
I enjoy Fast Forward, I enjoy parts of 2k3, I enjoy Archie, The Old Toon, The Next Mutation, the Movies, Mirage, Image, & the toy world.
I'm a TMNT fan for life and nothing can change how I feel about any of this stuff or the memories that come along with each one.
I don't say things for you or anyone else Zarius I say them for me.
Scandia was saying something as if it was a fact and it's not why don't we just all wait untill murphy says something or Mirage releases an offical press release before we start claiming facts to people asking questions.

There's being a "lifelong fan", and there's being an idiot. TMNT was infinietly superior to FF in every aspect. Corny aspects such as the PIXAR rip-offs for monsters, but compelling story, darker Manhatten setting, characters moving on with thier lives, and learning new experiances and settling long open wounds. It's an emotional masterpeice.

You calling it a "snooze fest" essentially serves to crush almost every argument you have ever made for FF and proves you only like the lighter side of TMNT. In short, I dont think you're a "fan" at all of the franchise, you're just a fan of what made it intially succesful., and everything else is just an interesting bonus.

You know like many others on this site state I believe you just like posting to start arguments with people.
Just because a movie is dark doesn't make it good. And just because I said it's a "snooz fest" didn't mean I didn't enjoy the first time I saw it.
Did you even see the review I gave the stupid movie? I praised it up and down unlike the cartoons for me the new movie for me does not have that life long I want to watch it over and over again on a rainy day feeling to it.
I don't have arguments for anything I like what I like and i know what I don't it's as simple as that.
Fans can actully believe it or not watch something and have a mind of their own and judge what they like and they don't.
Many people bashed Fast Forward or even other things like the image series before even reading or watching and after they went out bought a dvd or a comic book they made up their own minds and either liked it or they didn't.
And as you saw with all the annoying questions about things being wrapped up with I agree I don't care about not everyone hates the show and they did care to see what happens to Darius and the dark turtles.
I'm just a fan flat out plain and simple theres nothing special to it man.
Stop trying to make things all deep when they're not.
Snooze Fest is how I feel about the movie at this point it feels rushed and incomplete you've even said things like this yourself before and even did just now in what you typed about the monsters. I just happen to like the old live action movies allot more but like I voted in the other thread in general discussion the movie world is my least favorite and thats why I made my comment about them turning the show into the movies world I like all of the universes to be seperated.
I happen to prefer the older movies right now and what you just said about my enjoying only the lighter side of tmnt is bull since I happen to prefer Red sky and the first seasons darker tone of the old show more than anything else from that series.
And I happen to prefer the orignal mirage comics and image comics series more than the toons all put together.
Also you need to get something straight here and I think it's you. You run around this site yelling about things when it seems you don't even know what you really like.
You're yelling at me thinking I only like the light hearted TMNT when that's not true at all I like a nice smooth blend of both and they've been failing at that with these new shows 2k3 is action packed why dry as hell and FF while funny is not action packed untill the last few episodes.
Then in the same sentance you go to me about how dark the movie is and how great it is yet you defend the old toon for being so silly quick witted and colorfull.
So I gues you're the only person on this site who can enjoy all sides of the tmnt universe right?
Oh and you know I've been half tempted to buy the dvd since it came out even though I don't care for the movie that much even though the animation is amazing but with how you're acting about it I think you just made my decision for me since you want to think for me.
So before you state what I think know or do why don't you ask me like a person first instead of prancing around this site like you own it.

So liking FF makes you an idiot? Or liking FF better then the movie makes you an idiot? Honestly I fell asleep last time I watched TMNT. When I watched it before I almost did as well. I thought maybe it was because I had gotten up early to see it, or because I watched it after work. But after 5 times of that happening I think it's safe to say I agree with Putrescent.

I like the film don't get me wrong it's just about half way into it I start to get bored for some reason and the movie doesn't pick back up for me again until the Leo and Raph stand off. I figured out why though, it's paced terribly. It's paced really slow and feels like a 2 hour movie even though it's only 80 minutes. Turtles is supposed to be fast paced not slow. I sit down to watch turtles and expected to get a rush not catch up on sleep.

As for FF you keep preaching about how dark something is yet you refuse to look past the animation style and Cody and see what FF really is.

I won't call you an idiot but I will call you blind.

Where the hell were you when I said Day of Awakening was good? Or that the show had improved in small ways? Try reading some more, because you're wrong. FF has had "dark" episodes, but there overrated at best and dont really come close to season four or TLS

I won't call you an idiot but I will call you blind.

Yes, I'm "blind" because you and Puter overrate the hell out of some episodes as if you have an unhealthy obsession with this cruddy season. I'm "blind" because I dont see what you two see in the show and dont ram it down peoples throats like loving FF is a neccessity around here. I'm "blind" for preferring REAL modern TMNT over this backwards step in its evolution in terms of roughly every aspect of production, where as you two do just to keep the show alive. That is the definition of blind fanboyism.

Sorry corporate Spin Doctor, but I've heard it all before from you and Mr. "FF Infomercial". You want to get paid for supporting this s*it, try job applications. I stand by my assumption you two simply try to make FF more than what it was when in a few years nobody-will-give-a-damn-about-it. So move on.

Sorry don't know what you're talking about since I never watched that show.
And it's funny zarius if you looked at what I said to Jo you would know I'm sick and F45cking tired of talking about Fast Forward good or bad.
You say lets forget it but you keep bringing it up.
You shove your opinions down peoples throats so why the hell can't anyone state an opinion they believe in eh?
I know the shows not the friggin best but I happend to enjoy the entire story in whole allot better than the new movie whats so wrong with that?
And I said all I need to say in the other post above that you chose to ignore.

Thank you, tOkKa, well said. Arguments like this just end up going nowhere since neither side is ever going to convince the other that they're wrong. Let's please just agree to disagree and move on.

There's being a "lifelong fan", and there's being an idiot.
It's fine to disagree and to post your opinions, but resorting to personal attacks like this is taking things way too far. Quit it now before you end up with another warning. If you can't disagree with people without attacking them, I recommend just ignoring them instead.

You know like many others on this site state I believe you just like posting to start arguments with people.
Please don't make generalizations like that. Normally I would let comments like this slide, but I've seen you generalize about the forums several times before. It's unfair to blame the whole forums over the actions of a single person.

Done. Puter's on ignore for now (not the first time either, as we've disagreed venomously before on this issue), but I really felt TMNT was an acheivment for the franchise and as a return to form, and to have it called a "snooze fest" in favour of this tripe just irked me beyond belief as a fan.

And I chose to ignore your post Puter because I slapped you ON ignore afterwards. As for "posting just to flame", I could care less what you think or what others assume. I saw something that pissed me off, and I reacted to it. Deal with it.

I answered some ones question and as usual he comes around and makes a flame war about it.
I'm sick of being attacked for my personal opinions about a show.
And I've made comments about this forum before because any time I post something people don't agree with they bite my head off over it.

And obviously you didn't because you made another snarky comment at me after I made the comment.

Why can't we all just get along? I try to stay out of things like this, but attacking someone because they have a different opinion than you seems kind of childish.

And although I disagree with Puter about the TMNT movie, it's his opinion, and he's entitled to it. It's just something that we don't see eye to eye on. That doesn't make my opinion any more valid than his.

OK, sorry for butting in guys, but I had to say something.

can you guys please stop calling me puter.:P
And exactly I just don't want the new show to be a part of the movie world and that's it end of story I have no problems with the movie being it's own world but when you start mixing everything it becomes all screwy that was the point I was trying to make amongst other points.
I mean really so what if I find the new movie to be boring at this point?
It doesn't mean I don't like it at all it's just not my favorite thing and yet some how I always find things in each TMNT universe that I enjoy.
I balance everything out looking at the good and bad sides of things because I enjoy turtles that much.
infact here my personal myspace review of the movie.

For the record, there is zero indication right now what the new series actually will be. There was a guess a LONG time ago (before a proposal was ever made to Mirage) that it MIGHT be like the movie, but that never got any sort of confirmation (or denial).

I could have sworn murphy or Dan said the new show was going to be in the direction of the new movie or more like it or something.
That's where my concern came from since such reliable sorces said it.
I'm really honestly not that worried though 2008 is some time away still and they could change their minds on things at any time.
I just pray to the gods that it's now a low grade cgi tv show now.:ohwell:

Being like the movie doesnt mean CGI, I doubt anybody thinks it will go that route at all. Being like the movie also doesnt mean a whole lot, given the movie was virtually a vauge introduction of the modern series into the movie canon. At best it'd be exotic locations, broader mythological driven storylines, and tons of Leo/Raph conflicts.

You know...all that "snooze fest" darker stuff:roll:

I bet you'd love the show if it was just a black screen and all you heard was dialog. Maybe you should watch FF with the TV off and the sound on, you might love it!

I'd love to see David Griffin Blyth's idea of a good TV series, because I've seen this

Sorry about that, I was skimming the posts in this thread since I was in a hurry and must have missed that. Still, I saw that you were just defending your position and not attacking anyone, so I should have acknowledged that in my post as well.

Very sorry, I misread your post. I thought you were saying that there were many people on these forums that liked starting arguments, but that was not the case. My mistake.

And I've made comments about this forum before because any time I post something people don't agree with they bite my head off over it.
My point is, when something like that happens, please don't look at it as the whole forums being against you, because that's obviously not true. The vast majority of the members here have the decency to either agree with you, disagree with you politely, or say nothing at all.
