Shredder Question

In the Shredder Strikes Back did anyone notice Shredder's expression. When Splinter said something along the lines of “Attacking us with overwhelming numbers. It is not the way of a true warrior” Shredder was taken aback like he couldn’t believe he was being called a dishonorable warrior. With him being evil I find this a little strange. Any thoughts?

While Shredder is evil, he is also Foot. The Foot has a strong code of honor, and I've always thought the Shredder felt his specific tactical approach to battle was honorable, albeit in his own twisted way.

Being a leader of a strong force such as the Foot, Shredder probably thought in battle one should always send in the soldiers as a frontline offensive strike. He would keep some to aid him if his first lines failed, so they could act as a defensive barrier to him while he acted as an offensive last resort.

'Dude is a talking, man-sized rat in a dressing gown. What is his problem?'

That always bothered me too. I kinda thought it was going to foreshadow Saki fighting Leo without his armor ala in the comic book Return to New York. But guess not.
