This is a new er uh event starting in 2008 after the Messiah Complex. There's 2 new books: X-Force aka Wolverine and Friends (do we really need another book with Wolverine in it? ) and a new Cable series (well that didn't take long for him to come back to life). Unfortunatly the new Cable series means Cable & Deadpool is cancelled.

I havent read any of the X-Titles since "Phoenix Endsong" and "Here Comes Tommorow", with Morrison's interpretation of Magneto being retconned in favour of more "Magneto the good guy". I just pretend thats another Joseph, a clone Charles created to keep the X-Men convinced his drug-addicted friend hadnt proved that Xavier always underestimated him until it was too late. Xavier is a proven manipulator in the comics, he's one of the Illumanati for crying out loud.

I lost track of Magneto after all that stuff.

X-Men Dissasembled? You know you do too many of these supposedly epic events when you have to recycle a name after only three years. And weren't they kind of already dissasembled when a bunch of people were depowered?

We stopped reading at the same time it seems and with good reason. I think I've come to similar conclusions about Magneto "clones" too.;)

As for Cable & Deadpool, I'm of two minds. On the one hand, I'm thrilled Cable will be getting his own solo series again without having to share the spotlight with anyone. But on the other hand, I wonder who will write it? I've loved Cable & Deadpool! This has been one of the few Marvel books I was still reading. I've always loved Nicieza's writing and credit him with making me love Cable as a character in the first place as well as restoring the character to greatness after all that Soldier X crap (curse you Quesada and what you did to Weinberg!). And while I never cared about Deadpool before this title, I have to admit, Wade has definately grown on me. He's so funny! I think I'm going to actually miss him (and him pet minion Bob too, Bob is so awesome). So while I greatly look forward to Cable's coming back from the dead, I'm definatlely going to miss Cable & Deadpool. Any chance it will at least make it to issue #50?
