Hey... Just wondering and thought it might be fun facts... I recently saw the episode "Samurai Tourists" and noticed that Gen was of course dressed as Rocksteady from the old toon, and in that episode where one of the Utroms is referred to as Krang hehe... any other similarities like this in the new toon ? :)

In "Secret Origins- Part 3", April wears a yellow jumpsuit, a Channel 6 badge, and pretends to be a reporter.
In "Future Shellshock", the bus driver looks just like Bebop.
There are two more thing I can remember. In the episode "Secret Origins" Pt. 3 April diguises herself as a TV newsreporter to get closer to the action
The sign on jumpsuit says 9, but when she is about to talk to someone it flips making it a 6, just like Channel 6 from the old toon :)
In the episode "Future Shellshock, the turtles run into a familair face in traffic. Bebop?

Hahaha, I LOVE all those references to the old toon. There's a random alien that looks like Bebop driving around New York in the very first Fast Forward episode before the Turtles get picked up by Serling. My other faves:
In the Secret Origins arc in Season 2 when there's a huge commotion around the TCRI building, and April and Casey want to know what's going on and if the Turtles are OK, April puts on a yellow suit to try to look like a reporter and Casey makes fun of her and says she looks like she'd about to clean up nuclear waste or something like that. I like how April wears a tag for Channel 9, but it turns down and then reads Channel 6 as she's trying to interview the officer.
There's also references in Season 1 when Michelangelo would keep saying Cowabunga, and Raph would be like "Mikey, I told you, no more Cowabunga!"
Edit: Sorry for the redundancies... A few people beat me to the punch.

LOL! Massive simultaneous post!
But is there any more, cause those 4 are well known and easy to spot

Wasn't there some reference to Shredder turning them into mutants or something in the clip show episode? Sort of a throwback to the old show.
Then of course in the Golden Puck, the villains were using laser guns. I thought that was pretty much a reference.

This thread inspired me to watch Secret Origins again. I love it when Leo sees April in her outfit and says, "So, you're a TV reporter now, huh?" and April replies, "Ha! Maybe in another lifetime!" That cracks me up every time.
This may be too subtle, but in "What a Croc" from season 2, the Turtles face that turtle machine that scans each turtle before it fights to program itself with all their moves. It immediately reminded me of Metalhead.

yeah, the Turtlebot was basically the 2003 version of Metalhead.

Not really, he was more like a video game boss they needed to find a way to put into the show. And to be honest the game character and toy were way better then his show appearance. He looked like crap in the show.
I just don't make the Metalhead comparison because TMNT is famous for having all sorts of robots.

Yeah, I love all the old toon references too. In the story arc where the Turtles meet the Fugitoid, they are in the sewers and see rats that are just like the Turtles while Splinter is a turtle (I think). Anyway, the one in the orange mask says, "Cowabunga" in his native language.

Not really, I think they were using lazer guns because of the recent alien invasino.

Probably not but I don´t know if we can count Baxter being robotic spider in "Secret Origins".

eh if it had been a fly robot instead of a spider, I'd say yes, but that's just me

I think it would've been a nod to the OT if Baxter had been a fly robot as odupianist said. I don't think Baxter was ever a spider in the OT.

Yeah, I know it was a long shot but I´ took it as a kind possible "reversed association".
