What about the rest of the seasons of 2k3?
Any news on them or release date news?

I really hope they finish releasing the remaining 3 seasons. I fear that they won't because I can't imagine these half-season releases selling very well.
Who else loves the box-art we've been getting? Here's what I'm thinking will be on the coming releases:
Season 2 Part 1 - Turtles Cornered by Triceratons
Season 2 Part 2 - TMNT vs. Foot vs. Mob... or TMNT & Usagi vs. Drako and Shadow dudes
Season 3 Part 1 - TMNT vs. Bishop
Season 3 Part 2 - TMNT and Splinter vs. Mega Shredder
Season 4 Part 1 - TMNT vs. Ratking?
Season 4 Part 2 - TMNT vs. Mutant creatures
One more thing... if they keep releasing these 5 months apart season 4 part 2 will be released around March 2010 :dead:

They should release two sets at a time.
I hope Season 2 part 1 and hopefully Season 5 (since it will be airing on TV at the time) are released in Spring '08.

I'm really suprised about this. Even before Season 1, Part 1 came out, we had a ballpark date for Season 1, Part 2.
I'm hoping they continue releasing these as I really don't want to track down the individual DVDs.

Ugh...that's insane! :o
Hopefully all the many places that took preorders of Season 1 Part 2 and couldn't deliver when they were supposed to don't have to pay for the mixup. If anything would kill the chances of the entire season being reissued in this new format, that just might do it. :ohwell:

I like the idea of the covers keeping the same comic book feel as the first two, like the cover ideas for season 2 sets.

Season One part two lists "To Be Continued...." on the inside of the case...so it's probable they'll continue.
I would think these would sell better as season sets than as individual dvds. However, many people who already bought the individuals are probably not going to double dip.
I was one of the few who held out for season sets...and it was worth the wait. No bumpers, no glitch in the first episode, and all the intro scenes are intact.

It would be great if the last seasons were released in proper full season sets.
Personally, I hope they only have the episodes from s4 they didn't already release on DVD in the "season 4" set.

I have all the single TMNT DVD's, but I'm getting the Season sets as well. I prefer the way they're doing them now. It would be nice to have the entire season in one set, but this is the next best thing.

I hope they go with seasons sets, because finding the single DVD's in Canada was such a pain in the ass when they first started getting released, so I have a random assortment of them throughout seasons 1 and by the time the 8th or 9th one came out I had missed too many, so I quit. The season sets are the only way I'm ever going to be getting the entire series.

Maybe this'll end up like the the OT DVDs where sometime down the line they'll be smart enough to release whole seasons.

Only difference is that there is a relative demand for the OT DVD's. I'm buying these re-releases because I held out, then we have a few double-dippers here. But who else is actually buying these?

I am, because I jumped on the series relatively late after the first season was starting to leave shelves. Even afterward I only bought discs that had specific episodes I wanted, and the season 4 disc.

I remember when the NT was first coming to DVD they would normally come two at a time and everyother month. That's no wait at all.

What really annoys me is that they took out the interviews with Peter Laird in the new releases. I guess they do this to balance out their rights and wrongs since it's not like 4kids do get things completely right.

I'm going to pick these up eventually.
I stopped buying the previous editions after season two was done because I just couldn't stand buying them in that format anymore, they took up too much room and the episodes were starting to be released out of order and I can't stand that... it was hard enough for me to continue buying them when they were cutting off the recaps for a while.
I'm looking forward to getting seasons 3+, but I'll also be picking up seasons 1-2 either next year or in 2009. I know, it's ridiculous, but there are so many things on dvd that I want (shows that are getting it right the FIRST time) that it'll have to wait.

I chucked my individual dvds in favor of these. So right now I have the two sets of season 1 and all the other individual dvds that I'll discard when the other sets come out. There just isn't room for these individual dvds when I have Batman, Nightwing, and Robin books to consider:lol:

They took them out because their totally pointless now that the series has gone past the stuff he hints at in the interviews. He mostly just talks about what's going to happen and then he summarizes the episodes dropping hints that Shredder will surprise us and stuff about Utroms.
This is why I kept all my DVDs, their different enough to be worth it. I like the spines, the interviews, and the green cases are nifty. It's cool to have a whole shelf in my stand that's the turtles faces. Plus now that these are out I know that the DVDs will be worth even more. Their already pretty rare.

I'M going to be one of those "guilty" of double-dipping, too. Mainly because I, like a lot of folks, like the spine-art on the original DVDs and VHS tapes (and yes, I've been collecting those, too. They were CHEAPER than the DVDs when I started getting them. Plus which, at the time, I didn't have a DVD-player.;p), the extras on the DVDs; etc. Admittedly, I'm missing a few of the original DVDs and tapes, but I'm going to get them so my collection will be complete.
(And yes, I'm an obsessive completist. So sue me.:P  ;p )

Double dipping is a stupid thing for people to complain about anyones don't feel guilty. Especially now with all the HD stuff coming out.
Honestly this DVD looks WAY better then any of the first releases. The picture doesn't look stretched like the old disks do, yeah I watch them in widescreen, and the edges aren't so noticeably pixelated. I think they did these new releases in upconvert, meaning they can be viewed in HD. Awesome stuff really. The only downside is it makes the CGI stuff they do look even worse.
Roseangelo
09-24-2007, 10:25 PM
I'm also double dipping with no intention of getting rid of the original DVDs. Since each season is only going to be $20 each, it's really not that big of a deal.

I'll have to disagree with that. I felt those extras were pretty cool.
What I've been doing with the old releases is backing up the featurettes that the new DVDs don't have, like the interviews and the character bios and whatnot, and after I'm done that I'm gonna see if I can give them to the children's hospital.

That's because this year they were juggling the two FF releases in the schedule as well, which also add up to another completed season. If they can put out another 4 releases in 08, we'll be in good shape.

Sure thing. I don't have all the DVDs, though - I was never able to find the first two volumes, and I skipped "Notes from the Underground", so I don't have everything. But of that I do have, I've put a few up already, and I'll do the rest shortly.
Alright, I've got them all uploaded now, and gobo has offered to provide the featurette videos for the season one DVDs I don't have. So all the original DVD bonus features will be preserved for posterity. Here's what's available so far:

Here's the rundown
Fast Forward Vol. 1 - Feb. 6
Season 1 part 1 - May 22 (over 3 months)
Fast Forward Vol. 2 - Aug. 7 (less than 3 months)
Season 1 part 2 - Sep. 18 (little over a month)
So this means we should get season 2 part 1 before Christmas :D

Awesome.
I might be crazy, but I think I remember "Meet Casey Jones" having a different sneak peek (my cousin got it for Christmas, I got "Attack of the Mousers) It was 4 years ago and I was listening to it in a very loud room, but I remember Mike Sinterniklass talking about how he wanted to be Mikey. Am I wrong or right?

I read something about that somewhere. I'm glad he didn't get Mikey -- I am *so* in love with his Leo voice. Watching Return to NY, I think Mikey (?) had the first intro. Me: "OK, gotta share the wealth on intros." Part 2 - Raph. "OK." Part 3. "This had better be Leo" *Leo's voice* Me: :tlove:

Yeah I notice it the most when I see it in widescreen. Cause the old ones really did look pretty horrid. And even on a normal TV I saw jagged pixels. They probably used better codecs this time around.
