View Full Version : The NECA Wishlist

Alright, I'm sure pretty much everyone here has been following Murph's blog, and I know just about everyone has a wishlist of figures they'd like to see made , so I figured let's just make one big post of it all right here. Surely someone from NECA is likely to see what we've posted and I'm positive someone at Mirage will see this, so here's our chance for some creative fan input!
Personally, I'd love to see a City At War style Rat King. I think Jim's iteration of the character there is perfect.
Here's the rest of my list (in no particular order):
1. Baxter with Mousers
2. Shredder's Elite
3. Karai
3. Casey Jones with Hockey Mask and sports gear/weapons.
4. Casey Jones without Hockey Mask and maybe some other accessories (a motorbike maybe?)
5. The Shredder
6. Oroku Saki (the worm version)
7. Leatherhead
8. Utroms with Human disguises
9. Utroms without Human disguises (just the exoskeleton)
10. The Justice Squad (both in casual gear and costumes)
11. Complete Carnage
12. Radical
13. Savanti Romero
14. Renet
15. Nobody
16. The Thief God
17. The Baxter Robot
18. Zog
19. The Mutant Shredders
I should probably stop, otherwise I'll be here a while

I'd love (but I doubt they'd ever get made) show accurate versions of the old toon characters.
The Boys and Splinter of course (maybe even Hamato Yoshi.)
April, Burne, Vernon, Irma
Shredder, Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady, Tragg, Baxter (human and fly)
But again...yeah...right.

My wishlist is heavy with Turtle variants with the assumption that all of the obvious secondary characters that I'd be interested in are already on "the list."
Basic Turtles (from Leo Solo + 10-11)
Mike in Winter Gear w/ Klunk (from Mike Solo)
Pre-TMNTs (from #9)
Leo in Hunting Gear (from #11)
The Unmentionables (from #14)
Mike in Travel Gear (from #17)
#50 Turtles
And I really can't beg for these enough: Turtles in the styles of the different Mirage artists! Dooney, Farley, Lawson, Berger, Brown, Lavigne, Talbot .. Zulli, Bode, and Allan, too. Anyone else - It's all good!
And to put some secondary characters on the record, just in case:
Elite Foot Soldier
Gizmo & Fluffy ... maybe?!
Chet w/ Turtle Bowl (Ok, so I don't *need* this one, but it would be pretty neat!)

Mike in Winter Gear w/ Klunk (from Mike Solo)
That's cute overload right there!
Personally I just want them to hit the big staples
1 ) The Four Turtles
2 ) Generic Foot Soldier
3 ) Shredder w/armor
4 ) Splinter
5 ) April
6 ) Baxter
7 ) Casey with removable accessories
8 ) Savanti Romero
9 ) Renet
10 ) Karai
11 ) Foot Elite
12 ) The #&$%ing Rat King!
OH a Miyamoto Usagi would be awesome! But I don't know if they'd be able to do that...Someone tell NECA to talk to Stan's people!

Yeah, that's pretty much the list of characters I expect them to cover.
Usagi would also be good, although the Dark Horse figure is pretty nice.

I like what everyone else in this topic wants.
My most wanted:
1. 4 TMNT
2. Shredder
3. Splinter
4. Baxter Stockman with Mousers
5. April O'Neil
6. Leatherhead
7. Usagi Yojimbo (if you are able to)
8. Foot soldier
9. Foot elite
10. Oroku Saki not in armor
11. Casey Jones
12. Karai
From the original 80s toon:
1. Krang
2. Shredder
3. Rocksteady
4. Bebop
5. 4 TMNT
6. April O'Neil
7. Foot soldier
All of those figures would be awesome!:)
I know this is off topic, but while I am at this topic I might as well list what I would like to see for Gears of War series 1 (because you are going to make figures):
1. Marcus Fenix
2. Baird
3. Raam
4. Locust Sniper
5. Caramine
StealthNinjaScyther
09-20-2007, 11:25 PM
The Fugitoid perhaps?
I'd also like to see a movie line. The four turtles, Splinter, Shredder, Casey, April, foot soldier, and maybe Tatsu. But before that I want to see a good set of comic figures. So hopefully the line will be successful enough to warrant such a set.
Drtooth

The 4 Turtles as they appeared in the first issue....
The turtles as drawn by Hedden /McWeinie
I'll just cut to the chace.... all the turtles drawn in the style of the different guest artists that drew for them.
Shredder
Baxter
Casey Jones
Renet
Savanti
Hildagaurd Rail (no chance in hell, but I'll give it a shot)
Plus a very small line of ones based on the cartoon series and Jim Henson company Movie suits.
Vegita-San

Of course, since I got introduced too the Turtles in the original toon, all my wish lists are from there.
ACCURATE Versions of all the main characters, in a decent size. Maybe 7" statues.
A Channel 6 gang interlocking one like the four $125 turtle statues.
A Villain interlocking one with a Technodrome backdrop.
Dimension X backdrop with Creatures.
Bebop and Rocksteady in Battle action post with Blasters.
7" Mouser (static statued)
7" Technodrome(Static, maybe moveable wheels)
But the most important thing too me is accurate detail and scale.

Altho a Mirage style Nobody and Savanti Romero would be nice...well I already have the current series figs of em....but of course that wouldn't stop me from buying the Mirage varients!
Klunk (ATM I have this small orange cat toy I baught at Michaels. Closest I have to a Klunk figure. And yes it's standing at the base of my movie Mike figure)
Shadow Jones
Gabrielle Jones
Robyn (and possably her son. Even tho he hasn't been seen since CAW)
The 4 Turtles
Renet
Savanti Juliet
The Justice Force
Raptarr
Radical
Karai ( I currently have the movie style and the 2K3 style. But a Mirage style would be cool too)
Zog
Splinter (I'd love to see a Mirage style variant of him. Course he'd be standing next to my 2K3 and Movie variants)
Casey Jones
April (vol 4 style with the shortened hair)
Chet (dude..that would be awesome to get a Chet! )
Hamato Yoshi (Just as long as he's not wearing a fricken hat like the 2K3 version...:ohwell: )
Teng Shien
Shrunken Don with the robot he made to fight in
The Regenta/Seri
Gameraph :D
And how about some Archie figs too? I know they're making a Jagwar but a Ninjara would be really nice....I mean come on.. Ninjara's gonna be in the Forever War book that mirage is so ever nicely doing...so she'll TECHNICALLY become a Mirage character....kinda...sorta...kinda...um....yea... :P
I'd also like an Ancient One figure please...and the Ninja Tribunal...and the human Acolytes....

This topic is too similar to the "What would you do?" thead on page 2.
I'll just copy and paste my reply from that below:
Id make every character from the original cartoon,2k3 series and every movie(except part 3 ),they would be large highly detailed figures, about as big as the "Masterpiece" line of Transformers and they would have the articulation of the recent movie figs and then some.
I would also include all the characters from the "Lost Season"....especially Demon Shredder and the Dragon Turtles(they'd have too be even bigger).
Heck,Id even include 'Fast Forward' in all this,as boring as it was,IMO alot of the character designs were pretty cool.
Might as well throw in a talking feature where each character says at least 3 diffrent phrases too.
I mentioned that Id make them as big as the Masterpiece Transformers, but I doubt the NECA figs will be that big also I doubt they would include that talking feature I said Id add..... but everything else I said applies too this wishlist though.

NECA didn't buy a magic wand to make all of the figures Playmates has been unallowed to make and they're not replacing Playmates. Anything they produce still has to be approved by Peter, which means that all old toon stuff is out.
From Murphy's blog:
2. Current/initial plans/waves only include figures based on characters from the early Mirage comics.
While I hope that the line is successful enough to eventually expand, it's kinda wasted effort to ask for characters from universes other than Mirage Vol. 1 right now.

I am excited about these, I always wanted playmates to do a Mirage style, I quit buying the playmates toys a whiles ago, had to get the movie ones tho :P I wish they were more realistic looking tho.
TMNT Vol 1:
4 turtles issue one style would be sweet.
Shredder issue one style.
The ealier Leo one shot book style art would be great that and issue 10 I think where where Eastman and Lairds newer style really came together imo.
Those would be the styles I'd like the sepia toned style of the first book from First Books would be nice to have turtles in color and not just black and white. I'd like to have both black and white as well as color versions.

Yeah, I think a lot of people still need to realize that. Everything still goes through Peter, so I wouldn't expect much outside the Mirage universe.

Well I can think of a million figures I'd like to see, but only one I can't live without. I want an early Mirage styled Casey Jones. The poor guy has never had a figure that makes him look half as mean as he should.
I'm praying to the toy gods that NECA will find it in their hearts to give it to me.

Since the title of this thread is "NECA Wishlist"-- I see nothing wrong with people suggesting whatever they want. True, it's not gonna happen, but what the heck?

Since the title of this thread is "NECA Wishlist"-- I see nothing wrong with people suggesting whatever they want. True, it's not gonna happen, but what the heck?
Making a wishlist full of things that you hope for knowing the chances are slim to none of them coming true is one thing, but that wasn't how this thread was setup. And I never got the impression that the people asking for old toon toys knew that it would never happen.
We were told specific information of what to expect from NECA. To create a wishlist with the intention of it being seen by the people in charge, yet completely ignoring the provided information, is, IMO, more than a waste of time, but also a bad representation of fandom.
We're already facing an extreme uphill climb as fans. If we can provide TPTB with good, realistic ideas now, perhaps there will be a chance of those hopeful, farfetched wishes actually coming true in the future.
At least that's how I see it. Of course, you're always free to do what you want.

My apologies. I had no idea it was that serious.
I don't think it's a bad representation of fandom for anyone to say what they really would like to see, when Murphy has said that Laird IS interested in what fans have to say regarding what they might like. Personally I have NO real memories/fondness for the original toon, NOR the Archie series (what I do remember of THEM is through reading recaps/synops-- I was not a huge fan myself). Murphy has the wishlist going at his blog. Despite what I've heard, I doubt that anyone posting here at the Drome have to worry that Laird is gonna hunt them down and take them out.
And so, I want to see a LOT of different Splinters, please-- except the Lawson version of the recent series, where he looks like a caricature of Fu Manchu.
And I still hold out a desperate hope for "The Sliver"!!!!!!

Great lists...
But I'd like to add in:
A two pack of, "Raph VS Lucindra." Training equipment accessories. http://www.ninjaturtles.com/comics/mirage/volume01/44/44.htm
I think that this two pack would show an intimate (but not romantic) side of Raph. Being that he is always seen as the loner, it would be nice to see him have a forgotten side.
Dr. Dome with Domebots as a basic package, however a Domeoid vehicle with him, and possibly something to make it an exclusive; IE extra Domebots and some promo piece. Or the the Domeoid mech could be a build-a-figure?
Or perhaps come with a PVC Captain Deadbolt... ;)
Bloodsucker with a tiny turtle, and a red cloth bandana.
An exclusive "Kirby" figure. Perhaps proceeds could go to a charity of Kirby's family's choice.
DARPA Soldiers?
"Pete and Kevin" from TMNT Volume 2, Issue #13, with their signs.
Random street gang/punks. Easily could be 2-3 molds but varients in the clothing/skin/hair colors. Also reusable for gift sets, two packs, mailaways, etc.
Zulli Shredder with Zulli Splinter, comes with the raven as well. All Zulli turtles, the two pack, etc, could come with BAF Zulli Foot Soldier?
The Jackal. Molly. April. http://www.ninjaturtles.com/comics/mirage/volume01/32/32.htm <ok, so I'm a fanboy for that request.>
Loki. Various mythological monsters/characters. http://www.ninjaturtles.com/comics/mirage/volume01/43/43.htm

For starters, I never said minor characters. Nightwatcher, as cool as it was for the movie, was a single shot use. Granted, it was used in the video game as well, but overall, it's not as imperative that we get that considering it's from the movie, not the Mirage, time line, and that figure set is just a peg warmer. It's sitting at every store I've checked so far. So why make another Nightwatcher when it's not selling and is waste of space.
Slash is not a minor character. The Archie comics made him that way. He was reoccurring in the cartoon show as well.
Nightwatcher isn't Mirage canon and won't be. Just like Slash, Ninjara, etc.

I bought NECA's Gremlins line a few years back, and they were so perfect. that I have pretty high hopes for this line in terms of quality sculpts.
Can't wait.
I haven't bought toys so much in the past few years for several reasons, but this could certainly pull me back in with a vengeance... if my bank account is winking at me on the right day.
I just hope Mirage doesn't hold them back too much in terms of letting them do what they want to do, but I will remain optimistic, as there's enough pesimism here already.

I actually like Slash. I just..was trying to make light of the issue......
Honestly, I'm a little surprised he never appeared in any later turtles formats (Besides Archie and the OT), given his obvious parody of an existing comics character (Bizarro) which is most of what turtles origionally did. hence why raphael was origionally a total PSYCHO. And naming a Ninja clan "THE FOOT"
Anywho....
I still support a Cold weather Mikey with Klunk, a Kirbyworld Donnie, and an ULTROM multipack.

Anywho, Tristan, I like your list. Honestly though, I think you need to make an abridged version. Will NECA even look at a list that long? lol I do like the list though. Anything Vol 1 should be considered, and I guess Vol 2.

I've never heard/read him say anything about it, but since it's not cannonical I assume he ain't in love with it.
same here he prolly thinks it's an interesting turn on things but doesn't except it just like the old toon.

Oh, for the love of god. I said he didn't seem to hate it, not that he made V. 4 as a sequal to it.
As to the reason, It has alot to do with comments between him and the guy wqho wrote it. Don't ask for quotes, I can't give them at the moment.

Um did I say he did? No I didn't. If he enjoyed it he would have kept the story going from the point that volume 3 left off of but he wasn't happy with it at all and so he didn't so that's how I see.
Lord what the frig with with everyone being so intense on here as of late I'm perscribing everyone some vicodin so they can chill out.:P
oh and p.s. when I said he I was talking about Peter Laird not you.

Ah, so you think THATS how it worked.
Lord that's thick.
Its jsut as likely he simply didn't want to tell the continuation of that story, mayhap because he had something else in mind. After all, its not like comics weren't already changing continuities regularly.
Or, to use a better example....
Do you really think he Hated the origional films because TMNT wasn't a direct sequal? He's said he liked number 1, and he's given unrelated reasons for having htem be seperate from each other.
Hmm...........
Or for that matter, given his reprint of Souls winter, and his stated appriciation of it, does that make it in continuity? **** no. He's said as much. And yet, its out there.
Hmmm.................

Hate is a strong word as he's said himself in volume 4's letter pages dislikes is a better word that fits how he feels about allot of the past.

Isn't Laird also redoing Volume 1 so he can show what is canon and what is not? Laird's rather unhappy about almost all pre-Volume Four TMNT series. Even the current toon is he unhappy with.
BTW, this is a toy thread and not a Mirage thread... ;)

I couldn't really care much for statues, but I'd love to see the following as figures. 10 figures with 2 variants (not chase figures as i hate them) would be a nice starter assortment and this is what i'd love to see in the first 10.
All 4 TMNT from their first appearance, i really couldn't care about multiple versions of these guys, but it would be nice if they include with them a few accessories from later issues like Triceraton weapons. And maybe have alternate heads without bandannas. These guys should be smaller than the rest so it isn't too unrealistic to have a few extras.
2 different variants of purple dragons, could be based on the same mould but with different head's and jackets.
Casey with a soft goods cloak from April's shop battle.
April in her 2nd appearance? The one with her hair tied back and the heart necklace, just it's so different from the other april's we've seen.
The original Shredder but also have a variant final battle Oruku Saki that has no helmet, ripped clothes and a thermite grenade.
A footsoldier, but include at least 4 different hand weapons so that if you buy a couple extra's they can be just that little extra different on display.
Baxter with console and maybe 3 or 4 Mousers.
Then if that wave is successful, i wouldn't mind seeing a turtles in space themed 2nd series.
I Challenge.

Movie Turtles are long overdue. That's all there is to it. Henson Studio's work on the first film is truly under-appreciated, and always has been. I'd be FORCED to buy one figure of each character, especially if they nail the personalities and individual costume specifics just right. (Could you imagine a dead-on movie Raphael action figure - complete with trench coat, hat, and zai - in fighting stance from the subway scene?!! OMG..)
Furthermore, after buying most of their most recent line of Terminator 2 action figures, I am beginning to build faith that NECA's artists (especially Tankman) can translate just about anything and anyone perfectly into a toy form. It's absolutely crazy what they can do nowadays.
As a final outcry, *AT LEAST* the Movie Shredder should finally have an accurate toy representation created after 20 years...Such an amazing design is right down NECA's alley, and is sure to translate very well to sculpture. There's plenty of fluidity, various material textures, and fine details to obsess over, plus possible extra heads/helmets/hands, and three very cool accessories (left-handed claw, dagger, and spear). Not to mention the abundance of mesmerizing action poses to choose from. That rooftop fight is just ripe with beautiful action poses for SIX of the main characters.
C'mon...Who's with me here?? :D
Cheers,

I agree with you completely. I've been thinking the same thing for the last few years.
An Elias Koteas Casey would be the coolest thing.

I agree with you. Have you ever seen NECA's "John Lennon: The New York Years" figure? Spot on.
If they did, I would want one with a removable mask, or no mask at all. I really didn't care much for Casey's mask in the first (or third) movie. Mirage all the way for me.
4Kids got it right, and ironically, Muraki-Wolf-Swenson even got his mask right, in a cartoon that even mangaged to get Raphael's personality was wrong.

-stuff-
I'd rather them at least release the rest of the Mirage figures they're sitting on before they do anything further.
I'm not against NECA movie Turtles. I just want some of this shyte that they haven't released, first.

Other then the villain set we havent seen I guess I'd want Casey Jones, Splinter, a standing exoskelleton utrom, A triceraton, Fugitoid, & Leatherhead. To me these are necessary if they were to continue the comic characters. Other then that I too wouldnt mind having Usagi (though he doesn't fit into that assortment). One of these days I'm gonna become an amazing customizer & make a personal series of vol.3 figures. It's a must.

All I want is them to release what they already have made. That's all.
Of course I'd love NECA to do every character that ever appeared in the comics, but I will be more than happy with series 2. And Splinter. And Casey. And a Triceraton. And an Utrom pack.
Well, you know what I mean...

Why don't you just make one? Or commission someone on these boards to do one for you?
Powder I agree with you: Image style TMNT customs are a must. I already made a Bat Splinter from a Vampire Succubor... I think that was before you joined these boards maybe. I have two of them, if you're interested we could work out a sale or trade of some sort.

Agreed. The sad thing is everything people want in this thread will never happen.
If Neca can't even bother to release the Shredder, Foot, and Elite Guard toys that have been done for like 2 years now, we sure as hell aren't getting anything else.

What bothers me the most about NECA is that they've been f**king around with those Batsu ugly things instead of giving us what we all wanted, and what we all were gonna buy.
Why don't you just make one? Or commission someone on these boards to do one for you?
Ha ha -- perhaps he doesn't do the latter because commissioned customs can be freaking expensive... and perhaps he doesn't do the former because customizing can be freaking tough! Among other things, paint rub is a total b****, and one would have to deal with it when trying to make a b/w version of a figure as articulated as the NECA TMNT line. A preexisting all-white figure would make the task a lot easier, but it's heck finding one of those in a 6" scale. (I've been looking for a suitable Casshern base for years, and the best I can come up with is the White Ranger from the PR Super Legends line.)
I already made a Bat Splinter from a Vampire Succubor... I think that was before you joined these boards maybe.
I don't remember this! You should make a new thread with all of your completed customs... or link me to the old version of said thread if you made one back in the day. :)
