are any of you sad when you wake up on Saturday mornings to find that TMNT is not on CBS?? this morning I was for some reason. Do you miss it being on CBS? and I heard they wanted more shows to be more educational.

I do not have TV reception, so this is a moot point for me.
I am sadder about what happened in Volume 4 Issue 10.

Heh. I was sad about the lack of follow-up to Volume 4, Issue 10.
and fastforwarddregg, I would answer your question, but I do not wake up on Saturday mornings. ;)

No. I'm glad to wake up Saturday mornings and know TMNT is on, period, be it OT, 2k3 or FF.:D I could care less what channel it's on. I do miss that we're not going to get any new eps until Fall 2008 (I've seen the rest of FF and the lost season by now via other means, I just want TLS on DVD already and to know what the new direction is after FF.)
That was great though back in the day though, a full hour of new TMNT every Sat. I wish 2k3/FF could give us full hour of new stuff every Sat. That would rock!

I don't need to be sad about it. The movies I have, the OT DVDs I can afford also, and I only need to see each NT ep once on TV to get it on tape.

I'd probably sleep through it like I do most Saturdays now. Really, back when it was taken off the air, I was bummed like any other kid was. Now, though, I don't care. I don't even watch the new episodes anymore. I want to, but I'm older and have to sleep off the work-week.
I buy the DVDs and pop them in when I have time. That, in itself, is enough for me.

I agree that I miss OT Turtles. I mean, the new cartoon is great and all, but it was the original toon that got me hooked on the Ninja Turtles to begin with. Also, OT Raph is, in my opinion, the coolest turtle of ANY continuity. :D There's some decent cartoons out now, but - and I realize how old I'm gonna sound - cartoons today simply aren't like the ones they had when I was little. And many of the good ones that ARE out have ended or will be ending; such as Danny Phantom and Codename: Kids Next Door. Sure, Nickelodeon has a few good cartoons left, like SpongeBob and Fairly Oddparents, but it has nowhere NEAR the appeal it had 10 or 15 years ago. Nickelodeon appears to have been turning its attention to TeenNick, which really sucks for cartoon fans. Cartoon Network has some decent cartoons, but it's got some rather crappy shows mixed in, such as the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (Which gets most of its laughs from gross-out humor and violence, rather than actual wit). As for today's Saturday Morning cartoons, while the shows presented by Fox's 4Kids TV are decent and generally well-written, it's a bit disappointing that the same voice actors are used over and over again with little variety. WB's cartoons are generally fairly decent, but I think it was a big mistake on their part to pull the cartoons from being on weekday afternoons in addition to Saturday Mornings, as was distancing themselves from Cartoon Network.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that truly great cartoons, like the original Ninja Turtles, are hard to come by these days, and aren't appreciated as much as they could be.
However, I wish that if the OT DID continue, that it did so in its earlier, comedic form... before the "Red Sky Era". *Sigh* those were the good ol' days.
It doesn't matter what channel it's on. Like, at all.

I have a hard enough time getting up before noon on Saturdays... I could care less what channel they are in since I buy all the DVDs when they come out anyway. I much prefer it commercial free and on my own time.
I love the new series, the writing and art are so much better and not just because they adapt the comic more directly. They just get away with a lot more than they could in the super, uptight PC environment of the early nineties. I might have grown up on the OT and Saturday morning cartoons and loved them, but that's just it... I'm grown up now. (I think... :D) So I don't have to beg my parents to buy me the collections on DVD (it was VHS back then) and I have more on my plate than watching television.

I'm not sad, it was it's time to go, 10 seasons is a damn good run. This thread is very pointless, due to the fact that the first 125 (or so) of 194 episodes of the series are on DVD with the rest coming.

I was sad about it when the show first ended and there was nother TMNT around besides the toy line which even that ended shortly.
Then came Next mutation, & the Image comics series which at the time the fans where excitd about because TMNT was back even if the production values of the next mutation blew chunks.
But am I sad it's not on CBS now, no not one bit I'm just happy TMNT is on TV at all these days. 2k3, FF, or whatevers next I'll be there for the ride.

TMNT was lucky to have lasted on CBS as long as it did. I don't think anyone was particularly sad when it left. Especially because, as Purtrescent pointed out, by the time it left CBS we already knew we'd have The Next Mutation on FOX the next Fall, so everyone was excited for that.

I'm not sad that it's not on CBS. I'm just glad it's on FOX and that it's on at all. Like people have said, it doesn't matter what network it's on. All I care about is that it's on and that I can watch it.

No, I don't really miss it on CBS. That's because my fondest memories of watching the cartoon was when it was syndicated. I remember watching it every weekday afternoon, probably sometime between 4 and 5 IIRC. :)

I barely even remember getting up and watching it on Satuday. I associate it as one of the best reasons not to kill yourself during the schoolday.

I remember watching the first few seasons that were shown on CBS. I remember the Slash episode most of all, because he was a character I was fascinated by, a bad guy turtle. But for the most part I remember it in syndication.

Sure we all get nostalgic, I remember going to bed after TGIF and waking up to see XMen and Turtles on CBS. It's just funny now that I think back on it, How much I lived for the weekend, but I am definitely grateful that all these years later I can turn on another channel and see TMNT. The DVD of the OS help too :)
