IMDB's trivia for the new toon says, "Many of the "new" aspects of this series are borrowed from a failed CGI pilot."
What would be the "new" aspects that were borrowed?
Thanks!

I have no idea. The pilot had no story whatsoever so I'm guessing the aspects that were mentioned were of the visual kind. *shrugs*

IMDB is full of crap on this "trivia" item.

The only things I saw make the switch from the CGI pilot to 2K3 were Raph's feelings on Mikey saying "Cowabunga", the Elite Guard and the Triceratrons.

Casey Jones, apparently.

Where is this CGI pilot everyone is talking about? I did not know anything about it until seeing this topic. Is it available on THE site starting with the second person pronoun?
Still, I am glad they changed from it to 2k3. Because 2k3 does have a plot most if not all of the time.

Yes, it is:
TXSRMZbfMfg
You can also leech it from the official site: http://www.ninjaturtles.com/html/cgipilot.htm
Fun fact: This site starting with the second person pronoun has also a pretty reliable search engine, that produces rather satisfactory result after typing the phrase "TMNT CGI pilot" in.

This is a very good remark, given that CGI pilot lasted for almost 5 and a half minutes and was more of a teaser, whereas 2K3 lasted for several seasons.

dID'NT they design the bodies of the 2K3 toys by the bodies of the turtles in this? (Take a 2k3 turtle then goto ninjaturtles.com and look at the picture of the turtles in the street from the pilot) (It says CGI stills on the site map)

Thanks for posting the trailer!!!
Comments:
- The CG makes it look like a video game.
- I like the fact that they have pupils.
- I guess Shredder was a human in this one.
- April looks great. Casey's hair is shorter than what I have ever seen it.
- What happened to Splinter?
- When was this made? Was it set to take place when the original story took place, or after that? There is something in the video that indicates that it can NOT be taking place during the time frame they set 2k3 to start with.
Though I'm glad the series didn't turn out like this, I still get a kick out of watching this. I like Casey's short hair and I think Splinter was meant to die in this one. Leo says something to the effect of "I will lead them" when he's gone.

Even tho it's sort of ugly, I'm sad that it never was made. The fights are very good, and the voice actors were good choices (Raph would have taken some "getting used to").

If one were to have seen a teaser of the NT, they would guess that Shredder is a human in that one too.
This was made early 2001.

I have a feeling that they were trying to get Case, The Triceritons and all that into the other unsold TV show as well...

This was used to pitch the idea for a new TMNT CGI TV series back in 2001. But nobody bought the rights and so they decided to go with an animated series instead.
Honestly, I'm glad it wasn't made, computer animated series simply don't age well and often the stories are crap, because they money seems to go to making the 3d animations and nothing is left for the writing.

Bingo! And that often goes for video games as well.

If it was created in early 2001, then Splinter had not died yet in the comic book. Which would make things even sadder. At least in Mirage Volume 4 the Turtles are already in their 30s by the time Splinter dies.

You are correct. It still makes me sad to talk about the events. I went to Ground Zero to pay my respects back in June of this year. And on every September 11, I post the same tribute message in my LJ.

Um....the Battle Shell design is similar. Is that what they meant? :P
That and the symbol of the Foot is similar, other than that IMDB is full, of it.
Oh, and didn't Baxter design a giant robot similar to the one in the pilot for the gangsters in City at War?

I would say that maybe they used scripts and other things they were developing for a series in the 2k3 series... especially since it's evident they were going to use those in the WB series as well.
But then again, IMDB has to be taken with a grain of salt... especially since they once said Capt. Smollet was in the Muppet Christmas Movie special...:tconfuse:

Were there any other trys at bringing the TMNT back before 2k3 other than the WB and this CGI? It would have been interesting to see if WB was the one to bring back our boys.

What's this WB series? I was assuming it was the CGI pilot, but apparently it's not. Anyone want to elaborate on that more?

The WB was going to do a TMNT series before 4kids! did. The style looked more like the Mirage source material. I know the official site also has some of the model sheets for the series.

There was the live action Hallmark made-for-TV movie thing that sounded like it got pretty far into development before falling out.
Wasn't the Hallmark movie announced after 2K3 was already scheduled though?

Nope, it was before. I wanna say 2001-ish, but I'm not completely sure. I believe that info would searchable in the back of Vol. 4.

I saw that on Utube and thought how close it was to 2K3. Cheap CGI sure looks... Well, cheap! TMNT 2007 looked light years ahead of this.
