So I sent Dan Berger an e-mail today asking if the short Nobody story from the original Tales TPB would be included in the new TPB that's supposed to come out this November. Here's the response I got:

Howdy Mark,

At the moment there are no plans to include the short Nobody story...
but at the moment, I'm sad to day that the entire project is in
jeopardy as we do not appear to have stats or copies of the artwork
from #1 or #7. I've been scanning in the pages from the actual
comics, but these need tons of clean-up, and there may not be time to
do it properly (unfortunately I didn't find out that we don't have
scans of the pages until this past Monday). I'm sorry to be the
bearer of bad news and I'm extremely disappointed and distraught by
this turn of events.

Thanks for writing!

I hope they find the art they need. Likely, if they don't, they'll just have to clean-up scans and we'll eventually get the book at a later date than this November.

Also, Dan's awesome. I sent him the e-mail this afternoon and got a response in, like, 2 hours. Even with his new workload the guy is still on the ball when it comes to fan inqueries.

I'm a little disappointed about the absence of the Nobody story. If it's possible, anybody who perhaps has scans of it or something, maybe shoot me a PM? I know this sort of thing isn't orthodox at these boards, but I'm dying to read it, it's not gonna be reprinted anywhere, it's like 7 pages long and very hard to find. If anybody could hook me up I'd be eternally grateful.

All right, consider it done.

Yes, Dan is full of awesome. I found an eBay auction earlier this year that was full of BS and amongst all the crap the guy claimed that he had been trying to contact Mirage for over a year trying to get them to answer a question but they never had. He also threw in a comment along the lines of, "It must be nice to be big and not have to listen to the little people." That ticked me off almost more than the other BS stuff he was writing. So I emailed Dan and got a reply in less than 20 minutes. :tpizza:

You know, if he's scanning comics as it is, he should just scan the Nobody story, too and throw that in. Unless they don't have the old TPB, which isn't impossible...

Agreed. They've got a great guy in Danny B.

Would anyone be able to shoot me a PM with that scan as well. I assumed it would be included and I was VERY excited to read it, but I guess I'm going to miss out on it. I would really appreciate any scans, thanks!

Well, better late than never.

I guess it's important to keep archives of all this stuff. You never know when you're going to want to re-release something.
