I received the two I ordered today. Unfortunately they do ship in plain white boxes with no further packaging inside. I'll try to post some photos shortly.

Cool, couple questions I haven't been keeping up.
1) When does this end?
2) Can we use mini figures purchases from family dollar?

I am as well nice to know Playmates thought more highly of the simpsons than the toy line that put their company on the map.

Huh? If your meaning the Playmates Simpsons mail-away pair of Cooder and Sinclair (ha, that rhymes!) -- they were in a white box too.
The only Simpsons mail-aways that had actual 'package' boxes were the ToyFare ones.

That's not entirely true. Cooder and Sinclair were in baggies in the shipping box. But most of the other mail in figures that they did later were in boxes.

How about a review on your site? Your review on the Donatello statue was kind of helpful when I decided to bid on a Mikey statue (and win!) last month. I'm sure there are quite some European/Australian/Asian fans considering to get the Bigfoot on ebay. So a Bigfoot review could be very helpful to them.
And because I would just like to read it if you did one. :D

That means I got mine too-- I've been ordering so much stuff off of e-bay that it didn't even occur to me that that's what those might be. So they didn't even bag them? All that means is that I'll have an extra to sell if the price is right, bwa ha ha ha ha I'm so evil... :x:P

All this hype over such an ugly character...lol. The toy looks quite large. How many points of articulation? Its mouth is permanently open huh? Well, I should be getting mine in a few days, but so far, I am not impressed with what I am seeing from Playmates. Begining posts said there was no packaging beyond the box, but I consider the plastic bag packaging. The part that says "TMNT Big Foot Figure", is that on the outside of the box? Can you take a pic of the box that it was delivered in? It sounds weird, but I am weird...lol. Thanks.

that guy on ebay took it out of the plastic too, if someone was going to pay that much I would at least want it mint...what a dumbass. I didn't take mine out of the bag, but it looks like each arm has 2 points of articulation. The box is just all white aside from where my address was put on it, the only thing worth seeing is the tmnt logo that I posted the picture of, everything else is just white.

In the old thread he wrote this:
I've ordered three so far, one to keep bagged (or boxed or whatever), one to open, and one to sell (so far). I'm hoping to get between $50 and $100 for it.
The reserve is probably $50. $99 is just a tad bit excessive being that they are still available and you only have to buy 3 figures, spend 5 bucks on a money order and splurge on a 41 cent stamp.

It's funny because I thought that was reasonable. I wouldn't have even put a BIN because you are THE FIRST. These may skyrocket. People with alot of money would easily drop $100 to:
-not go to the store
-not pay for 3 figures
-not cut out the UPCs
-not fill out the form
-not write a check for $5
-not go to the mailbox and.....
-not wait 6-8 weeks for shipping
I am interested to see how this all works out. I also wonder how many we will see show up on ebay over the next couple of days.

If people are that lazy they need to get a life seriously. The new tmnt second wave figures are all over the place now and pretty well stocked at walmarts so it's not that hard to do this.
The only thing for me is that wow the size of this thing is disappointing it should be huge playmates can make huge dinosaurs and yeti yet they can't even make a character that's actually from tmnt the correct size.

It’s not necessarily laziness. Some of the kids out there already have all the movie TMNT toys; if the line hadn’t done well, we wouldn’t have seen all those prototype pics for next Spring and next Fall. So who is going to buy their kid three more TMNT toys if they’ve already got them all? Besides, some people probably think it only applies to the basic figures and didn’t bother to read the fine print. This is a rich country. A man or woman making between $50,000 and $100,000 a year doesn’t have time to cut out those UPCs, circle receipts (and Xerox them in case they need the receipt for something else), fill out the form, and put it in the mail. It’s like paying a bill and most people already have enough of those. I’ve sent away for five Big Foots so far and I’m getting ready to send away for one more…

Well, it's not like I didn't have to buy a bunch of figures that I already had and resell them dirt cheap in order to get the mail away. And then you have to take into consideration the fact that I'm selling two of these to close friends at a very cheap rate. I've ordered five, and plan on keeping two. That allows me two more to sell (I have the UPCs and receipts ready to send off for one more) to try and "salvage" the losses I've taken as a result of this little experiment. I don't care if people hate me for what I'm doing. I'm providing a service and I need to at least be able to break even. I have a feeling a lot of people may be doing the same thing, people who don't give a sh*t about TMNT. I've been a dedicated TMNT fan for a long time. You guys aren't like Christ in the temple; you're more like the men who wanted to stone the prostitute; none of you are any better than I am, you simply believe that you are. I'm entitled to this. In some ways, I'd actually rather someone bid this up to the reserve price so that I can see this auction out to the end, even if I make less money as a result. There will be at least one more Big Foot figure to sell, but that will probably be it. Not because I care about what people think of me, but because I'm not sure I want to put any more effort into this.

Look, I wish CJJ luck on this. He'll take a loss, I am sure if no one bids or his reserve is not met due to ebay's listing fees. With his reserve set at a minumum of $25 that will probably not be met so easily and a $10 shipping fee (while Playmates only asked $5?), bidders will be reluctant to bid on some dirty ape creature that was barely in the movie.
It's not like it's Shredder or Karai. If it was Shredder, it'll be expected to be in demand, but not the big dirty ape.
CJJ, good luck. I hope you make enough to cover your loss.

The highest I could see one of these go for is, sadly for you, only $30. I'd dump $30 on a Scratch figure if I didn't have one but for a Big Foot? No. I'd only dump $20 on him if he came in a two pack. Or was of good size.
CJJ, not to single you out but any two digit price after $20 for any TMNT toy is going to face attacks. TMNT collectors are cheap fans. We'd never pay a ton of money for something like the Big Foot.
If this can't sell for that price, then TMNT fans definitely are not big spenders!

Yes but something that you have to remember is that there is another audience out there-- the YOUNGER TMNT fans. Some of them already have all the figures, and their parents either don't want to buy them any more, or they don't want to bother with filling out forms, cutting out UPCs, etc. So we'll see how this does. Remember, if the reserve isn't met, I don't have to sell it and then I can just hold onto it until after the promotion ends. I won't be any worse off than I was before...

Okay, I kept my mouth shut for the longest. I haven't posted since you first declared that you were gonna scalp these things bacuse I was trying to be nice but just like any other real toy collector scalping will upset me quicker than a TMNT episode without April in it. well for starters you didn't "have" to buy anything. No one forced you. You must have thought you "needed" a bigfoot figure. Secondly, you haven't lost anything. If your not in it for the joy of having the figures then why bother at all? The joy of collecting is worth more than any amount of money. Yep you had to pay a premium price after buying 3 figures to get one mailaway. What 30 bucks at most? I wish I could get pop-ups for 30 dollar "losses" You know what I like to do? I take any figures that I have to take upc's from, cut the upc out and then donate the still packaged figures to Toys For Tots. Oddly enough those children are just happy to have the toy. Of course there's no profit there, only the good feeling that I have and positive karma. Anyone who doesn't scalp *IS* better than you. Go to any other toy forum and admit to scalping, the replies that you would get there would make my post here look like dialogue from a Touched By an Angel episode. Scalpers are the bane of toy collectors, people like you make it hard for those of us that collect because we value the toys and the experiences themselves. As long as it's just you then you know what it doesn't matter. The 2 BigFoots that you are actually scalping doesn't really mean too much in the long run but i'll bet that you aren't the only one who scalps them. If enough people scalp them it's going to create a real lack of figures to go around and then the people on this board will have to resort to paying for your self induced losses, at 100 bucks a pop. Or they won't get the figure at all. That's when scalping gets bad. Oh, and don't compare yourself to prostitutes, they *actually* provide a service:ohwell:

If you are only interested in TMNT figures, you probably wouldn't run into scalping much. It's one of the areas where Playmates deserves credit, figures that are produced are rarely hard to find. And in general, scalping of action figures seems to have declined greatly over the last few years. But it can be a significant problem. When you have lines such as Marvel Legends or Star Wars where there are often figures that are shipped in limited quantities, it can be quite easy for just one or two individuals to clear out the entire supply for a fair sized city such as Milwaukee just so they can try to sell them on Ebay for a quick profit.
Personally, I have very little respect for the likes of Darth CJJ who feel it is appropriate to take advantage of fellow fans/collectors rather than helping them. But at least in this case, he isn't adversely affecting the supply for the rest of us.

If you want a min in mint box Big Foot, you are going to be disappointed. The white shipping box has no additional protection during shipping so they are all going to show some significant wear. Even if the Post Office handled them all with kid gloves, they are still going to have the shipping label, postage and cancelation stamping on them.
But the boxes do seem to have faired reasonably well. Neither of mine show and significant damage such as crushed corners or torn areas.

Of everything that I said this is what you choose to quote? M'kay, I give up. My pop-up Ace Duck came today and looks like he was plucked fresh out of a case and now i'm up to 5 pop-up figures so i'm in too good of a mood to argue with a scalper. I said my peace. Holla.
Ha ha, I definitely hear that! When I get pop-up, I feel good for the whole month. Not to steer from the subject too much, but what other pop-ups do you have?

Hey, I have managed to get Leo, Raph, Mikey, Usagi, and now Ace. I'm so picky about package condition and they have to be unpunched and the pop-up sticker on the bubble has to be mint too so I usually average getting about 2 a year. They don't pop-up (pun intended) on Ebay too often and when they do most of them seem to be trashed. One of these days i'm going to own all 17 lol. What about you, who have you managed to get? Steven

Some of the old TMNT figures came with mini-dioramas (a section of floor and wall, along with a cardboard cut-out of a character).

whats a pop up figure?
Vintage TMNT were realeased for a brief time in 1989 with what Playmates called a mutant pop-up display stand. It was a piece of cardboard that opened with a background picture on it and came with another piece of cardboard that connected to it that had an animated picture of a character. Like Casey jones cardboard background was an alley and the cardboard piece that connected to it was 2 foot soldiers all tied up. They didn't help the figures stand up at all but they are a neat variation and a pretty cool bonus piece. :D
Jon beat me to it lol and his explantion was shorter and still better than mine d'oh
Jon beat me to it lol and his explantion was shorter and still better than mine d'oh
Thanks. And that's okay (on the longer explanation). :D
To add in on it, as well: For further info; Playmates did a similar thing later-on with the "All-Stars" Sports Series of TMNT (where they did the particular sport field on the back of the package), except these were smaller pack-in type of 'scenes'.

Shipping labels, postage, etc, I've got no problems with that. They're just a part of the package and proof that I went through the right channels to get mine. It's kind of neat that they'll have my name on them, actually. I just meant that I didn't want my box crushed or torn. I hope mine fare as well as yours did.
I'm not even too worried about the figure itself, It's not like I'm going for AFA grading. One of them is going on the shelf and I'll never even see the other one, cuz it's staying in the box.
At any rate, I'm jealous of all y'all. I ordered my first one right on September 1st and I'm still counting the days.

Almost all of the original turtles, nice. One of my goals is to do that and eventually getting all of them would be nice too. I have Mike and Raph as well but according to your standards, you would hate to see my Raph. I posted pictures of it a couple months ago. The guy I bought it from on ebay failed to mention the box was infested by dead bugs that can't be taken out but it is in good condition and I got it dirt cheap so I figured I'd keep it. But I also have Metalhead too.

People are upset or dissapointed if you will about the size of this figure because he's one of the largest characters in the movie and should have been huge.
Frankly I am dissapointed but not suprised Playmates has never been size accurate with it's toys.

He's also making a big deal about it. He's bragging. That's where the issues come from. He was already "flamed" or whatever you wish to describe it about doing it so he then posts, "OMGz l00kz! i'z on j00r ebayz zelllng frt big f00tz!" after we say we don't approve.
Cheating on your significant other isn't illegal. But bragging about it is obnoxious, especially when you are telling it to people that are not interested in listening. He's kinda do that, but not. That's where the issues come up.
He hijacked TMNTMan's thread and review about the Big Foot with his ebay listening. That's partially my bone to pick. But I know CJJ and I don't feel like fighting with him. Not worth the effort.

I've also gotten 4 huge MIP figures from auctioneers with only paying $5 shipping. $10 shipping on a $7 figure is simply pure stupid.

Well to be somewhat fair, you have to assume that the figure will have to be repackaged in a larger box to be shipped again since the original box already has shipping info on it and you wouldn't want that box being damaged any more than it already is. That would mean some expense and effort on Darth CJJ's part. And while Playmates only charged $5, they shipped Parcel Post and probably had a discount due to the volume they ship. If he ships Priority mail which is pretty standard, it will probably cost him around $7. So the shipping might be a bit high, but it isn't an unreasonable estimate and high enough to ensure he doesn't lose money on the shipping.
As for highjacking the thread, I don't care too much about that. I'm just hoping the auction fails so that it doesn't attract more greedy scalpers wishing to cash in on TMNT fans. It's bad enough that the issue still exists with other lines. It's nice to have one line that they ignore.

I got mine last week, hadn't gotten around to sharing the good news though. I was relieved that they came within 2 days of each other, even though I ordered them nearly a month apart.
The boxes were about what I expected, pretty battered, but oh well. There's just no pleasing some of us overzealous collectors. One of them is already on the shelf and the other is safely tucked away with all my other MOC/MIB.
I love the sculpt but I really wish they could have made the mouth open and close. That would make my day. And what the hell is with all the exposed screws? Cheap. It's not the only toy I've bought lately with this going on, you look at Bigfoot from the back and it looks like he's recieved some serious puncture wounds from Foot arrows or something.

If it's not your fault, her insurance should pay for you. Unless it's declared a no-fault.
My friend has had bad accidents twice now, and both were clearly not his fault (including one where he almost died on the interstate), but both times the insurance companies gave him nothing. Usually due to the police report not being specific enough, or too confusing.

Bigfoots are still shipping. I sent for 2 more just before Christmas, and my checks were just cashed today. I finally found the cheapest way to get a Bigfoot and now it is too late to get any more.
This is how I did it for my last 2. I would print the forms online, avoiding having to by a $7 figure just for the form, then I bought 6 $1 toys from the Family Dollar, and had the clerk give me 2 seperate receipts. That gives me my 6 UPC's for 6 bucks, thats enough for 2 Bigfoots. Sure it took maybe a minute to fill out the form and drop it in the mailbox, but I sure wish I thought of this the day the promo started. After I realized they would put who ever's name I wanted on the shipping address, I wanted as many as I could. I already received the one addressed to Casey Jones, and the one to April O'Neil should be here Monday. I will post pics of the labels for anyones amusement.

Finally got my Bigfoot in the mail today.:)
Although, the box was damaged a little bit.:ohwell: But I don't care about that.

This is awesome! I got my Bigfoot addressed to April today. I said I would post pics, and here they are.

I got one other one mailed to myself, and I blurred out my address because there are weirdos out there. :)

I'd be more worried about the weirdos on here than the weirdos out there.

I got one of my letters back from Playmates telling me that my receipt was not valid for some reason and that I can resubmit as long as I send a copy of the letter as well... Curious if I can copy that letter...

I thought it was curious that you could use mini figures for the promotion. I mean, they only cost $1 a piece. So for less than $10, you could get a Big Foot, resell it for $50, and make a 500% profit.

That's saying it would only go for $50, CJJ. ;)

Well, I haven't had as much luck as some of the other sellers on e-bay... there are more Big Foots on there than ever before. I have one ending in the next hour or so and the reserve hasn't even been met. And it was just last week that one sold for $142.50.

Besides the ones I had addressed to Casey and April, I only got one extra one that I sold to Buffy for $38. I have been keeping an eye on the ebay situations and it seems like its all about timing. I sold a loose Quarry for $92 and the next day a guy put one up MOC and couldn't sell it, he only got $80 I think. People try to be sneeky, and it doesn't always work.

Does the printout from Walmart.com for the Shredders and Sloth Monsters I got back in September count? Playmates claims I never sent in the receipt so I am hoping I can use this as my "Get Outta Jail" card... :)

It should. I used the print-out that came with the mini-mutants I ordered from TRU's website back in December to order one of mine.
