This was one of the things announced among the plethora of news on ninjaturtles.com

Hopefully this means that the reast of the series will be realeased between now and then.

Also, I wonder why Khols is hyping season 1 part 1 for the holiday season :ohwell:

Any news about a DVD release of the Lost Season?

They did release "Day of Awakening" before FF's run was complete.

That's what the news is of (a DVD release for Lost Season to come in the first-half of next year).

I was wondering too until I saw Raph's Girl's thread about the latest update to NinjaTurtles.com. I wanted to come back here to rephrase the announcement, but I'm having so much trouble staying connected to the internet for the past week or so. :( Sorry.

They will still want to air it before releasing it on DVD. So I would imagine probably a May 2008 release. I wonder though. Will 4kids spread out the 12 episodes over a 5 month period?

Probably. 4kids just finished airing the last ep of FF and now they have virtually nothing else to air between now and Fall 2008.

Airing the 12 eps of Season 5 sometime in early 2008 is the only option they have left.

They released FF before all the episodes were on TV why not with the lost season?

When this set comes out we would have S1,5,6 on DVD so we would only need 3 more seasons (or six more releases) to be caught up. I would like to think all of season 2 is also going to come out next year and maybe even all or part of season 3.

^^ Season 2 Part 1 will be out for the holidays. By my calculations, the whole series should be released in these 13-ish-ep collections by the 25th Anniversary in 2009.

I'd like that very much! I'm surprised their putting season 5 out before airing it this time around. I guess it didn't affect ratings at all so that makes sense.

And I just got the bittorent!

But here's the big ???... since "Ninja Tribunal" isn't on the Season 4 DVD, will it be on the Lost Season collection.

And maybe this isn't the place to bring this up, but I just got all the seasons released so far on DVD and I'm making my way through season 3. I've noticed some strange things, like the two episodes featuring Leatherhead are out of order, so that we see him living with the Turtles first, then later we get to the episode where Bishop has a hold of them. And I just finished Return of the Ultimate Ninja, and they're all talking about meeting him a while back, and the Time Scepter, and what could only be the 2K3 adaptation of Vol. 1 #8... but so far I'm into the next disc after and still haven't seen that episode! Is it even on the Season 3 dvds????

What the heck is Fox's problem with releasing things correctly and in the right order?

I agree CCD. I have to keep a printed copy of the episode guide with my DVD's so I know what order to watch them in when I feel like going on a season marathon.

Most likely (on "Ninja Tribunal" being on the Lost Season DVD (since it is the start of that Season, even though 4Kids aired it as the 'Finale' of Season 4).

As for the single-disc releases, ever since Vol. 11 they've been having episodes out-of-order.

It all started when they decided to put out the Battle Nexus DVD early to coincide with the video game release. I know the episodes were messed up before that but that decision is what I think threw it all off.

(since it is the start of that Season, even though 4Kids aired it as the 'Finale' of Season 4). No, it is not. While it's certainly the beginning of the arc, it was produced with the rest of Season 4, and not with the batch of episodes that became the Lost Season. it is the actual Season 4 finale, Lap of the Gods is the Season 5 premiere.

On that note, I kind of wish the redid the "Season 4" set, in order to match the visual style of the other seasons sets, and to add the missing episode. Having the episode included in the wrong season rubs me the wrong way. Still, better having the episode with Season 5 as a "bonus" episode than not having it at all.

*Shrug* Whatever. Similar stuff has happened with other shows and episodes get considered part of the Season they're supposed to be with instead of the one they aired with/near. So figure that's the case here as well.

Edit: And the fact the Season 4 2-Disc DVD didn't have it is another clue to that.

"Ninja Tribunal" is the season 4 finale.

However it acts more as a pilot to season 5 so given it was not on the season 4 set it would make sense for it to be included on the season 5 DVD set.

If/when they get around to re-releasing season 4 in chronological 2-disc sets they can either treat it as a 25 episode season (Good Genes is a pretty good finale for that season and ends hinting at what is to come in season 5) or they could include Ninja Tribunal there as well. I don't think people would complain if it was on both sets. However people would complain if it wasn't on the season 5 set as that would mean those who bought all the original DVDs would either have to go without or rebuy the second half of season 4 on DVD if/when they release it, which is a bit unfair on those who don't plan to buy the new sets (like me, I can't afford to rebuy and import 4 seasons of DVDs just to have the episodes in order, given the added hassel of imports and tax it's easier and cheaper to just get off my couch and change DVDs to watch them all in the right order).

I'm glad you said that. ^_^ I think this is the first issue I've ever disagreed with Jon about. It's just ridiculous to think they broke their 26-ep standard just for the storyline 4Kids didn't even support. It went like this:
26
26
26
26
1/2*26=13-1(named "Nightmares Recycled")=12

NOT

26
26
26
25
14-1(named "Nightmares Recycled")=13

Doesn't that make sense? "The Ninja Tribunal" was just your typical cliff-hanger season finale. Even though I agree that there's nothing exclusively Season 4-esque about "The Ninja Tribunal", it was obviously produced for that season. I think it may have even been a ploy from Mirage to gain 4Kids' support for Season 5 because surely 4Kids wouldn't want to bait & switch their audience, right? :ohwell:

It's kinda like saying that "Search for Splinter" part 2 should have been on the season 2 release.

It's about damn time "Ninja Tribunal" came out on DVD here. I never did get the Australian one, and even though I watched the YouTube stuff, I want to OWN it on DVD.

I need to do what someone in another thread said-- go to the Mirage site and copy the season/story order list so that I can make sense of the later DVDs.

Not quite, TTN.

And on Gobo's info, I still feel it is more likely as I had mentioned of. To add a little more to my thought on this - The end of "Good Genes" Pt. 2 seemed to be more a Season Finale big cliffhanger then the end of "Ninja Tribunal" (which seemed more a 'beginning ep.' cliffhanger).
* But whatever the case, that's my figuring on it at least.

Well, the good thing is that Ninja Tribunal is finally getting a DVD release in the U.S. I think it's been way overdue, but better late than never. Also, I think they should just air The Lost Season now since there's nothing else to watch. It's gonna suck for me not to have anything new to watch until January.

I've only seen about half the second season, so I'm REALLY hoping seasons 2-5 come out in their entirety. I bought both parts of season 1 and both volumes of Fast Forward, so I'd LOVE to have it all in order.

Well, considering that they've released Season 1 as a set, I'm hoping that they will release the others, though no word has been given on a Season 2 set yet.

I know the season 3-4 individual dvds are out of order, but how bad does it screw with the continuity? Like I've said, I've never seen those episodes, and it'd REALLY suck to wait for the season sets.

Actually it started with Season 2 (as from Vol. 11 on they had episodes out-of-order in one way or another).

But would just need an in-order list of the episodes (as well as a list of the episodes on each DVD) and could still watch them in order.

Yeah the Ultimate Ninja DVD started it with the stupid "bonus Episode" crap.

Finally, the last episode of season 4 must be on the set.
