For those of you who don't know, the video game Hitman is being made into a movie. Now, I know that 4 ninja turtles movies have come out based on its comic, but look at the many ninja turtles video games.

My question to all of you to discuss is this: if you could take any of the NES ninja turtles games, SNES game, or Genesis game, and turn it into a movie, which one would you choose, who would be the role as April O'Neill, and would you make it live action or computer animated.

Well I'd have to pick TMNT IV: Turtles in Time for SNES and make it a big budget, live action, PG-13 spectacle ala Transformers.

Maybe have it so two sets of brothers (Mikey and Raph; Don and Leo) are both catapulted into different time frames as they struggle to get back home. Then of course all 4 get back together for the grand finale.

That future setting where they're riding the hoverboard-type things...I could imagine a brief scene of Raph and Mikey racing each other. Fun times!

Manhattan Project, since it was my favorite video game.

Or maybe even the first one. I think the dam sequence might be an interesting scene, if they added someone like Leatherhead to fight them underwater. It would be live action.

My ideal April O'Neil would be....Kristen Bell. Man, she is a cutie.

Also, April's movie outfit would totally be the yellow jumpsuit and white boots and belt. It's kind of funny how that is the TMNT fan equivalent to the golden Return of the Jedi bikini.

funny you should mention April's outfit; you know in the 1st live action movie, the 1990 movie, the closest thing they came to was a yellow raincoat at the beginning of the movie.

anyways, the video game i would go with is Turtles in Time IV and casting April O'Neill would have to be...Sarah Michelle Gellar, the actress who voiced April in the recent turtles movie.

the movie would follow the sequence of the SNES version with a Bebop and Rocksteady, no Tokka and Rahzar, no Leatherhead but plenty of foot soldiers, thanks to the technology: Krang, and of course the Return of the Shredder.

Judith Hoag mentioned the jumpsuit in an interview. She said that it just wouldn't have worked. She said something along the lines of her not having the voluptious figure of the cartoon character.

i gotcha i gotcha.

i bring up something else that came to my mind: in any of the live action movies, there's no turtle blimp or turtle van. but is the only thing that donatello invents is the sceptor in the 3rd movie?

again it's a thought that came to my mind for discussion.

If I were making a movie based on the first video game, I'd definitely include the turtle van and the turtle blimp, even if it was only briefly. I mean, having the turtles driving around for too long blowing up barricades wouldn't be too exciting.

I think I'd have April get into a little more action. I've always liked the idea that maybe she'd pick up some martial arts moves from the turtles. I'd have her get captured in the beginning, and then maybe afterward the turtles try to teach her a few things, then at some point in the movie she'd have to defend herself with what little she knows.

Maybe have Rocksteady or Bebop call her a "banana raincoat wearing *****" in the third act, and then she gets a lucky shot in and takes them down.:)

I think the first guy who posted about Turtles in Time was correct, although the TMNT have been sent back in time in feature film all ready to WILD success. It is the most beloved Turtles game though, and his description of them both being sent to different times was nicety. However, I would do an R-rated Tournament Fighters in the same tone as that kickboxer movies and those twenty other movies that used to play on Cinemax all the time in the mid-90's, where the Turtles have to kill their way out of an illegal pit fighting tournament. It would be a mix between traditional 2D animation and live action sex scenes spliced in at seemingly random interludes.

I'm going to suggest this. to make a live action movie from a video game, maybe we could do the robot foot soldiers. That way, it would look funny when one of them gets kicked into the wall.

Turtles in Time, like raphroehler2003 said, the brothers, split into pairs, must find their way back to the present. I differ on the pairings. I think Leo and Mikey should be paired and sent to the past (Leo would eat it up...Mikey would wonder where TV, video games, and pizza were...maybe even try to invent them.) Raph and Don are thus sent into the future. (Donnie would be a kid in a candy store, Raph as we all know from >> hates the future.) I think it'd be fun if Don and Raph used history to rescure Mike and Leo. (You know, because the account could be written down...right...how they got back...so that in the future Don and Raph can find it to go back and save Leo and Mike...who leave a message for Raph and Don to find so they can rescue them....man...that's epic.)

Certainly TiT, it would be awesome. I'd also love to see the Manhattan Project.

As for a semi-realistic wish, I've thought of the ultimate fan tribute that could be in the TMNT sequel: If the first scene of NY takes place at night, a little sub-title could come up on the bottom of the screen and say "Big Apple - 3 A.M." :D

I guess the Arcade game would be cool too. As a movie, it would make a nice tribute to the cartoon series overall. Basically, I like any idea that would have a significant amount of April O'Neil, because I like my Kristen Bell casting idea.:)

I don't remember her in Manhattan Project aside from the beginning and end.

She's there after you beat the Shredder for the first time.

Oh yeah, she got kidnapped...yet again, didn't she?

Mmmm that Kristin babe has GOT to look hot in the yellow skintight jumpsuit...

And Judith was right.... she was practially as flat as a board compared to Toon April.

Kristen Bell most certainly would.

And while not as curvy as toon April, (the way they drew her, really hard to pull off) according to this promo picture maybe she would have been able to fill out the yellow jumpsuit at least a little.

At least her ass.... but still.. Judith was one flat April. Very noticeable during the whole Casey massaging April's shoulders scene.

Yes, but Judith looked like the Mirage April, which I think they were shooting for.

Hmmm you have a point there... though her hairstyle still sorta resembled a 'real-life' old toon April, kinda sorta.. and they still gave her the yellow raincoat.. and made her a TV news reporter.

Mr._Mutant_Man

Whatever the case, I think she's a whole lot prettier than a lot of people give her credit for. The later April may have been a knockout in part two, but Judith Hoag was very much the pretty girl next door type.

Hmmm actually with the red cleavage-showing shirt and the tight black mini-skirt... I felt like Judith was more like the knockout babe, and Paige from TMNT 2 and 3 movies was more the girl next door. I never thought Judith was all that hot... but something about her just seems more adult... sexier... maybe the fact she was such a feisty New Yorker in the first movie.

Paige just seemed... cute to me at best. Not exactly the April worth fantasizing over.... and even worse in part III with the short hairstyle and being forced to wear a guy's kimono throghout most of the movie.,,,

Mr._Mutant_Man
11-02-2007, 10:57 PM
Yeah, that guy's kimono wasn't too flattering. Maybe that's another reason why I don't like that movie as much. With it being as cheesy as it was, they might as well have had Paige Turco looking as hot as possible.:)

here's something: remember in most of the video games, you could see the turtles' eyes. Then the eye pupils disappeared. So, with turning the video games into live action movies, would you have the turtles showing their eyes or no eye pupils.

think about that one :D
