Here is why, thanks to Dr.Killpaitents for reminding me

Yeah you think that'd slide? It'd take one soccer mom to see that and there'd be problems.

meh not a good enough reason for me. I don't think that's the reason.

You never know, people are overly sensitive about stuff like this. Wish we could ask Dan but he wouldn't know.

Nah! Like Putrescent, I doubt that's the reason.

Since, as have mentioned, the awkward change Lionsgate did in the episode set-up (from following ninjaturtles.com's set-up for Vol. 1 through Season 4, and suddenly going to TV.com's set-up for Season 5) has basically off-set a total of 4 episodes (one we already got on Season 4, and 3 others we haven't gotten yet).

By that logic, we never should have seen "Hot Rodding Teenagers From Dimension X" or "Enter: the Fly" because they feature The Twin Towers. Oddly, I don't remember that scene being in the ep in question, though I knew it was in one of 'em ("Shredderville", I thought).

I agree with the Gobster. If Lionsgate (or soccor moms for that matter) cared this much, then we'd either not have Hot Rodding Teenagers and Enter the Fly, or they'd at least be edited. I mean yeah it's a possibility, but I highly doubt it.

The Twin Towers are in alot of epiosdes, they're just mentioned in those two. But the show is obviously pre-9/11 so mentioning the World Trade Center is not disrespectful at all. Anyway, I agree with Spit, they probably think that they're making a mockery of an American symbol (stupid, but I'm sure that's there reasoning).

You actually think Lionsgate is watching every single episode before putting it on DVD?

It's an oversight, that's all.

It's not only a mockery, but a violent and belligerent one.

Had the parody statue been holding a hot dog or barbell, it would not have been as controversial.

The Twin Towers are just buildings. They are a part of history that should NOT be censored.

But even if September 11 had not happened (which I truly wish would have been the case), the Shredder mockery of the Statue of Liberty can still be perceived as being in poor taste.

Yep. Most likely 'cause of what I noted (their change-over in how they're doing the episode set-up).

If we can mock the French, we can mock their artwork.

On this note, anyone know why we haven't heard about a Season 6 set in a while?

I *really* hope the Turtleoids 2-parter isn't skipped. I'll be angry if it is, I haven't seen that special in YEARS.

Spitfire

It won't be, season 6 is 16 episodes if they add that two parter it'll be 18 like the last set.

Anyways the Statue Of Liberty being changed into what in that episode represents a terrorist holding a machine gun to me is a red flag.

I'd like to think that's not the reason but I have a gut feeling it is because there no other logical reason for them skipping this episode. Unless their doing it in production order or something and this episode wasn't produced before the others following the end of Season 4.

*Ahem* That's why I mentioned the fact of the change (of Lionsgate seeming to go from ninjaturtles.com's episode set-up for the previous DVDs, to TV.com's for Season 5).
Since the Season 5 Set's set-up follows TV.com's Season 5 listing -- with TV.com having "Turtles and the Hare", "Once Upon a Time Machine" and "Planet of the Turtloids" 2-Parter all listed under Season 4.

I think it may be more of a case of being a "lost episode" (note use of quotes) and not that it would be offensive. I haven't heard too many people complain about other uses of the Statue of Liberty like that.

And I agree. If LG had a problem with stuff like that episodes with the Twin Towers would have been pulled (especially The Fly, where they plan to attack it). But that wasn't the case, and they had the guts to realise that what happened happened, and not shrouding it under the "we don't want the terrorists to win! Let's show them that by still nursing this wound!" like the Simpsons did (that episode was pulled out of rotation).

Yeah well I've been saying that since people started freaking out in the first place, you just don't listen and then when you figure it out yourself you act like I never said anything.

Sorry, Spit, but I have been as well (and seems people hadn't been listening to mine most times, either). Infact one time you pretty-much scoffed at it just because of me noting TV.com.

Agreed. And remember, Krang on Mt. Rushmore made it through just fine.

And, Mt. Rushmore wasn't French, so there's even less reason to make fun of it. :D Right?

Hello? Hello!?

'Allo! Whoo ez eet?

It is I, Leonardo, and these are the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Whose castle is this?

Zis is the castle of my master, Savanti Romeo.

Go and tell your master that we have been charged by God with a sacred quest. If he will give us food and shelter for this night, he can join us in our Quest for the Technodrome.

Well, I'll ask him, but I don't zink he'll be very keen... Uh, he's already got one, you see.
