Any news regarding this yet? Will it happen? If so, when?

Jon

Nope, I haven't seen any news on more 2k3 Season-Part DVDs yet.

I'm almost doubting that it will happen.

Well the lost season is going to get a US release so anything is possible I guess. But it's highly unlikely to happen in a timely fashion. It could be YEARS.

I'm more concerned about Season 5 on DVD. Region 1 DVD, that is. I want to be able to watch it on my TV while surfing the net.

I hope they continue with the season sets like they're doing. It'd be nice to have them all in one "part", but I am enjoying the neat covers.

It will they've got nothing else to make money off of right now.:D

Because usually these things are announced pretty close to the release of the latest release when they're distributed by FUNimation.

Why doesn't some one ask Murphy ;)

Kendamu
11-06-2007, 06:51 PM
Or, if someone here has a MySpace, they can ask the FUNi representatives on their MySpace page. They're usually really good about giving you the info you need. When I had a MySpace, I asked them about Dragonball Z a lot to get info that wasn't widely available about their releases.

Oh, and I just gotdone asking on The 5th Turtle blog about it.

Well, after taking 15 seconds to go to MySpace, type in "FUNimation" in the search at the top, and going down the the third listing in the results, I found it.

Feb. and Sept.?! Did they really expect something in the neighborhood of 18-24 episodes to last me until then? They better be feeling lucky that I have other hobbies in case stuff like this happens...!

It's nice to know that these are coming out but this is bullsh*t. This means we have to wait a year in between full seasons? I know february isn't that far away (though I expected s2p1 to be out for Christmas) but to wait about 7 months between the season 2 releases is bull ****in ****.

Yeah go on make a big stink about it they will release it sooner they have before ;)
But you never know perhaps they are working on special things for it which in my opinion I'd rather them not rush it.
But we'll never find out unless we ask.

Frankly, I don't care when it comes out. I just think it would be cool if it had special features, since the season 1 part 1 didn't.

Well yes, but I don't have all the series on DVD. I only have season 1 and the Mutants and Monsters disk. I know I should get the rest of them, but in the long run it would be sorta dumb (plus I don't have a job). So I want them NOW! :D

Masked Ninja
11-07-2007, 04:12 PM
I just don't get what would take so long! It's not like they're waiting for the episodes to be finished, or even aired! If they wait too long, they risk people forgetting about the series due to the length of time between releases. They could get away with it if it were a wildly popular show, but it wasn't - most people either didn't know about it or were unable to handle the difference between it and the OT.

Kendamu
11-07-2007, 04:20 PM
Being that I never collected the 2k3 DVDs and I also never had a chance to watch much of the show in the first place I feel like this is too long of a wait between releases.

I won't mind so much if maybe it, by chance, the TMNT DVD releases are done in this order:

- OT Season 6
- 2k3 S2P1
- OT Season 7
- 2k3 S2P2
- OT Season 8
- 2k3 S3P1
- OT Season 9
- 2k3 S3P2
- OT Season 10
- 2k3 S4P1
- [insert something really cool here]
- 2K3 S4P2
- etc.
- etc.
- etc.

That way even though I'm waiting a lot of time between releases of an individual series I won't be waiting so long in general because other TMNT DVDs would be coming out in the meantime.

Their updating the quality on the DVDs that's for sure, the old DVDs look horrid compared to the new ones and even the Season 4 DVD doesn't stack up well to the new releases.

Season 5 Ninja Tribunal will probably be released sometime in-between those two sets (much like FF was released immediately after it aired) if it's any consolation. I'm still personally hoping for 4 releases this year.

Excuse my curiosity, but WHERE in Murph's blog (or wherever) did you FIND this info? I'm at his blog right now, and can't find this.

Also, PLEASE forgive me for rearranging your post just a bit, Goongasnootch, but I couldn't get the schedule quote to show up any other way.

And having to wait THAT long really, really, REALLY BITES! I mean, okay, february ISN'T that far away, time-wise (and this will make a GREAT b-day present, as my birthday's IN February), but you'd THINK that they could schedule Part 2 to come out clser to Part 1.

But I guess that Murph knows what he's talking about. I hope.

That really sucks. If they're going to do it like this then why don't they just put the whole season on one release.
They better come with bonus features...

Or you know what? Maybe they'll release a Complete Series set which seems to be popular with TV DVD these days. Probably not enough of a fan base for that though...

Jon

^ Well, rather doubtful (they'd do Full-Season Sets).

Since they released the episodes before on single-discs, so the Season-Part DVDs is their "Second Time Around" (yes, stuck in a 2k3 reference!).

I can hardly understand a reason to make this volume 12 eps, but it will make a numeric harmony for the whole 2K3 series collection if they stay with this pattern. 12-14-12-14-12-14-12-14-12 But, the fact of the matter is that Seasons 2-4 all divide perfectly into 13-ep intervals.

The first 12 episodes in season 2 are on it. So the 5 space arc ones, the 3 Utrom Shredder ones, Ultimate Ninja, Return Of Nano, What A Croc, and Reflections.

The next set will be the other half with the City At War stuff on it. But their stupid to only put 12 because if they put "Return To The Underground" on it then both sets would be 13 episodes each, Now the other set will have 14 or maybe their retarded and made a typo like they always do.

They came out with "TMNT Season 4" a while ago. But really it was the second half of season 4 (with a couple episodes flip-flopped, order wise. And the final episode "Ninja Tribunal" is missing). Hopefully they re-release season 4, but there's a chance that they stop at Season 4 Part 1 and say "You have part 2 already, deal with it".

I liked the foot tech ninja and the Garbageman episodes a lot (Garbageman reminded me of Mojo from X-Men). Now the next ones are the Shredder episodes.

Well just picked up my Season 2 Part 1 DVD, and as with the first 2 DVD releases, the packaging is top notch.

The inside of course shows pictures, and says to be continued, and it comes with an insert stating you can buy a whole bunch of shows on 4kids DVD.

It shows Sonic X, which I wish they would release in the same format as these Turtle releases so I can own all those episodes.

My Best Buy only got 3 of these in though.

I haven't gotten mine yet. I called our local Wal-Mart Supercenter to see if it was in yet, as today (the 19th) IS the release date for it, so I wouldn't waste my time in walking over there (it's only like a couple of blocks from my house), and the lady that I talked to said that it WASN'T in the releases for this week, and that I should try again NEXT Tuesday, as it might have been puished BACK a week! I was like, 'What the shell?! It was SUPPOSED to be released TODAY, and YOU guys don't have it IN yet?!" Needless to say, Iwas not, and still AM not, a happy Mousey!:x

*sighs* I guess that shouldn't surprise me, though. I've been checking Wal-Mart's website for a little over three weeks now, trying to find the Season 2, Part 1 DVD there, and it's STILL not listed! And I've check OTHER websites (Amazon.com; etc.), and it IS! The weird thing about it? When I check Wal-Mart's website, the pre-order thing for the OS Season 6 DVD IS listed, and IT'S not due out til APRIL 8th!!! I think that I shall go and quietly have a fit.:x:P

*grumbles irritably* Yet MORE proof (IF any IS needed) of how USELESS that Wal-Mart (AND walmart.com) sometimes are..............:x

There are Sonic X DVDs that are like the new-release of TMNT (2-Disc routine). Including one that went back to doing the start of the series.

If you don't see any on shelves ask them to look in the back, mine had to, but today is the release date for sure.

If you're aiming that at me, unfortunately, we don't HAVE a Best Buy around here, just a lousy Wal-Mart Supercenter. The closest Best Buy to ME is about a 2 hour (or little over) drive away from us, and right now, we're down a vehicle. (And as much as I love my Turtles, there ain't NO WAY in SHELL that I'm WALKIN' all the way to Springfield, MO, to pick up one of their DVDs (my mom would have me committed if I even THOUGHT about doing that, and I wouldn't much BLAME her.)!) So, UNLESS I can come up with something else, I'll just have to wait a week, and hope like ANYTHING that it comes in next Tuesday.

Man, I wish the folks who RUN this town would get their heads out of their butts and LET a Best Buy come in here! THAT would be great!!!

(Although I'm sure Wally-fart wouldn't think so, but at THIS point, who CARES what THEY think?! Not I!;))

*Shrug* Though I haven't called to ask on stuff, or such. I've actually had good luck with finding DVDs at Wal-Mart.

But will say, I do frequent Best Buy just as much (if not even more); and have good luck there too. As well as Target, and a few other places.

Usually, I do, too, so I don't know WHY this one is going to be late. Ah, well, just have to check back and see if it's in next week.

And I usually call them IF I know that our car is gonna be on the fritz, or my bro will be using it, or what-not. Also IF the weather is gonna go into the dumpster. I don't know about YOU, but THIS girl doesn't LIKE walking in the cold, snow, and ESPECIALLY not if there's ICE on the ground! I mean, our Wal-Mart may only a couple blocks walk away from us, and therefore within resonable walking distance, but I have absolutely NO intention of trying to KILL myself trying to get there in lousy weather!

But will say, I do frequent Best Buy just as much (if not even more); and have good luck there too. As well as Target, and a few other places.
I wish I could, but, as I stated, all we have is a Wal-Mart. Which is WHY I wish this town would get off it's duff and let a Target, or a Best Buy, or SOMETHING new come IN here! Sheesh!!!

DUDE!!! JON!!!

Tell me you aren't kidding? So you are saying that they are releasing - or already have released - Sonic X sets like they are doing with Turtles (season sets broken down into two disc releases?)

I know they did that with like season 6 or something, but you say they started back at season 1?

Where can I find them?

Thanks for any info.

Hm, first I forget about the Avatar 3.2 release date and now this - looks like school's distracting me too much from my cartoon DVDs... :P

The Walmart here tends to get 'em a little late anyway, so I'll just plan a trip in a week or so and hope it works out.

Hey, I'D like to know this, too! I've been wanting to find the Sonic X DVDs, too, since 4Kruds is too dumb these days to run anything good on their schedule (BESIDES the Turtles, anyway), and won't run the eps on the schdule anymore!

(I DID have Eps 1 through 3 recorded off on my DVR awhile back, and was going to record them off onto DVD, as I can't find even the three-ep ones now, but my oldest niece got mad at me for something, and deleted them all. Guess she thought that I wouldn't find out til it was too late, but she forgot that you can check the history of stuff like this on the DVR box itself, which I did. Consequently, I DID find out, and MAD did not even BEGIN to describe Aunt Wolfie's mood afterwards!

And everybody around here thinks that Cody from Fast Forward is/was annoying...........!!!:P)

The Walmart here tends to get 'em a little late anyway, so I'll just plan a trip in a week or so and hope it works out.
Yeah, ours is, too, so I'LL probably be doing the same thing. Good thing it's only a block or two from my house. An easy and enjoyable walk, that.

Although I hope that the weather cooperates with me. Otherwise I'm gonna wind up calling the danged store like I did today!

*For both X and Wolf*

The 2-Disc releases they have for Sonic X are--

Season 5 and So Long Sonic (doing the end of Sonic X); and then a more recent one The New World Saga (though I haven't picked it up yet), which is back to the beginning. But that's all there have been so far.

As for finding them, just have to check stores is all I can say to that. I happened to see New World Saga at an FYE, but wasn't able to get it at the time -- and it was gone next time I went!

:embarass: Ah. 29% off at Amazon. No additional features = cheap charlie price. And I keep thinking of LOST season sets that are pricey. This is TMNT. Fool that I am.

-->> ..you saving your original discs too ..i mean for the little extras like the interviews and such .. ..??

Initially i wasn't ..but that woulda been lame on my part..

So wait, do I have to buy the season 5 and so long Sonic sets to complete the seasons, or do you think they will redo those seasons, or reissue them after they do the first batch of season releases starting with New World Saga?

I ask because if they redo season 4 on TMNT it will mean I don't have to track down the now hard to find Season 5 of Sonic X and So Long Sonic (season 6,) and can just wait for them to re-release them.

Oh and by the way the second Sonic X set will be out in May called, "The Chaos Emerald Saga," which has another set of 13 episodes.

Not sure (if those 2-Disc releases will be redone, for either show). As for Season 5 and So Long Sonic, I think they're both basically for Season 5 of Sonic X (as those DVDs cover the Metirex Saga).

And thanks for the info on the next Sonic X DVD.

My guess would be that the cover will be about city at war...I'm just wondering why they didn't squeez reuturn to the underground on this part 1 set.
It just seems odd to start part 2 off like that...It'd be great if they had all of the characters going at it on the next cover, but I'm really thinking they're going to go for the City At War thing.

I wonder if we'll get four releases this year again, that case we would have Season 3 pt.1 this year as well. With Ninja Tribunal coming out in May we basically have S1,2,5,6 on this format and can finish off S3,4 in 09.

Everywhere I go lately, namely 4 Best Buys and one Target here in Oklahoma City, recently, I keep seeing Season 2 Part 1.

I don't get why many of you are having trouble finding it at your local Best Buys. As for Walmart, I haven't really been to my local one(s) lately, but I wouldn't be surprised if they phase a lot of things out solely for the fact, they are always chaning what they stock.

Me neither. I bought my copy at my local Best Buy on its release date. That morning, in fact. They had about 3 or 4 copies on the shelf then. But like with Season 1, I'm not watching it until I have Part 2 as well. In September. :p
