Since the strike's causing as many problems for other shows, it's bound to affect the animation industry also. TMNT is nowhere near pre-production, just outlines, so maybe this will allow Pete to perfect everything rather than rush into it like he did FF and only gradually "mature" it over time...

It won't be for a while, since they will be showing the 5th season in the Spring.

As pointed out, FG isnt as safe as people thought, and The Simpsons will likely have their remaining scripts produced without the safety of rewrites

Comic writers who write televised episodes are still television writers, unless there non-union, you're going to see them on strike.

Actually, Murph is the only writer from Mirage who's worked on the shows. Surprisingly enough one of the X-Titles' writers is a TMNTk3 writers. The rest of them are TV writers.

Cartoon characters may come to the aid of striking Hollywood screenwriters if the Writers Guild of America's two-day-old walkout turns out to be prolonged.

Most animated shows are covered by a different union from the Writers Guild and are unaffected by the WGA strike. In addition, the WGA has withdrawn objections to its members working in animation.

Some 12,000 WGA members went on strike against film and television studios on Monday, jeopardizing America's hit TV shows including some animated programs like "The Simpsons," which are covered under WGA contracts.

But many other animated films and TV shows are covered by a separate union whose members remain on the job, said Steven Hulett of the Animation Guild Local 839, part of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE).

The two guilds clashed recently when the WGA proposed a strike rule threatening members who entered a writing contract on animated features with fines and loss of membership. After protests, the WGA said the proposed rule was modified.

"Now writers can write for animated features," Hulett said, adding that many writers are still nervous. "I suspect we'll get more (calls) over the next few weeks, if the strike goes on for long."

Well, I know it will affect Family Guy and The Simpsons, but that's okay. As long as TMNT isn't affected, I'm happy.

I don't watch Nickelodeon, so I'm not worried about that. And I just read on a different thread that FG and the Simpsons will still have new eps.

As for TMNT, I doubt the strike will affect that show as the episodes are in production right now.

Well, if they are part of the strike, the studio will need something else TMNT to run in the mean time, stuff that has already produced so this would bode well for the LS being aired (as if we needed another reason).

Yeah, but LS was gonna be aired anyway before the writers' strike was even on. So, I know that we'll at least have that to sustain us for a little while.
