I WISH I could go since he's co/responsible for my favorite episodes, and I don't think he penned a single one I didn't like, but there's little to no chance that I can. :( I need a travel companion that I trust (default: my mother), something for my travel companion to do while I'm at this thing, and a few extra reasons to attend this con wouldn't hurt. I like animation, but usually not anime. Frankly, I see it as a fad. :sweatdro:

What have you seen? Yes, some anime is a fad. But there is legitly good stuff that should be required viewing for everyone.

What have you seen?
Anything that's been on Cartoon Network... But, I have a waning appreciation for Dragon Ball, and it introduced me to Tenchi Muyo! (though I only really like the OVA universe... and the Pretty Sammy TV series titled Magical Project S which never was dubbed, but I pray that Funimation may fix that now that Geneon's US branch is out of the game). I loved the Sailor Moon dubs up to the end of the Doom Tree arc (eps 1-53 according to DiC) and the first movie. I completely love Fruits Basket. A friend got me into Fushigi Yugi (which was amazing for 52 eps). I'm also quite fond of Mahoromatic and Hanaukyo Maid Team. But, most anime I see nowadays just look like they're fueled by excessively graphic violence or drama. I don't see anything wrong with that, but it doesn't appeal to me.

There are other older series that I plan to check out, like the newly dubbed Ninja Nonsense and the recently affordable Slayers catalog... and some romantic series advertised on my Mahoro DVDs, whatever it was called. But, for the sake of argument, I don't dislike anime, I'm just not impressed with the current. o_o
