Yeah, I was watching that to see how high it would go. Pretty crazy. Although the seller said he paid $15,000 for it (crazier, or just stupid?).

Too bad my #1 probably wouldn't grade higher than a 7. Not that I would sell it.. maybe.

I'd really like to get ahold of that... but, jeez! That's a lot!

This will probably sound stupid, but what do you mean by the grading? Just the condition of it?

Yeah, the condition of the book. Infact, there are companies that grade comics for people (and typically put them in protective casings).

I ran across this..but didn't see what it ended at. holy hippo spit... I don't think I'll get a #1 for awhile...should've gotten one while I had the chance (1984)!

me too. trouble is, none were released in australia, so the chances of finding a TMNT #1 first print in the wild are basically none.

i just see copy after copy go for hundreds (and now thousands) of $$$ on ebay :(

Alas, I saw the auction, and yet, I am still too poor. I would have gladly shelled out 10 grand for that.

I FINALLY added a third printing of #1 in VF condition to my collection some time ago, but I'm still lacking a first, or even a second printing.

I'd settle for a Fine, unslabbed copy of a first printing, but YAR, even those are a bit pricy these days. If TMNT comics are happiness (oh, and they ARE) then who says money can't buy happiness?!?!

I'd actually prefer to get a non-CGC version, just because I want to be able to open it. I guess I could probably buy one if I wanted to compromise my credit and bills.

A third printing is pretty common, though still cool. The second printing is a little hard to come by and it's almost exactly like the first printing. Heck, from the cover, you can't even tell the difference!
