P2P seems still in progress of rising from the ashes as phoenix... But i hope they make a bookplate edition for that very special collection, too.

The Rat King on that cover makes me want to puke.

Seeing as he's a crazy person living down in the sewers (and apparently the swamp in the comics according to the official site), it makes sense that he wouldn't be too aesthetically pleasing.

Then again this is a fictional world where mutant turtles run wild. Maybe all bets are off in the TMNT universe and he could be facing off against them in a nice business suit. :)

I'm looking forward to this. I haven't bought anything from P2P before.

Tales of the TMNT Volume 1 Series Treasury Edition" was delivered to Diamond Comic Distributors yesterday, so it should hit store shelves over the next two weeks or so.

"Tales of the TMNT" #41 is still in production, but it will hopefully be done soon and be out before the end of the month.

I believe spitfire was talking about how bad he looks in Jims new art style compaired to how he looks inside in his first issue.

I'm sure he was, but I saw the opportunity to get the joke in.

The rest of the cover looks great, though.

It's not bad I don't mind Jims new style in color but with the lack of shades and tones anything done now just looks bland and leaves something to be desired.

As someone who didn't read the Mirage books until a couple of years ago I'm looking forward to the trade of Volume 1.

Plus I decided to get one of the older Tales Vol. 2 trades to see what the current series is all about.

Does anyone with the origonal Nobody's Fool issue know if they...photoshopped(?)Nobody's costume so it look more like the red gloved New Toon one? Or were his hands and feet always streaked with white?

Yeah it's pretty awesome.

This is the first time I've bought these trades, and I'm enjoying this book. As someone who was introduced to the turtles via the cartoon, it's interesting to see that Leatherhead was originally a good guy in the comics. In the Archie comics they seemed to go to the middle ground, a bad guy who became a good guy later IIRC.

The original cover shows his hands and feet as being white.

I got it today loved it even if it was $18.00 set me back a bit but oh well I've got it now :)
I enjoyed Jim's new story in the back and yeah the arts gotten better but not as good as his older tales work which is right there for you to look at.
The little Dino guy is cute! To bad he had to die...
There's something that bothers me about the story though, and that the time cepter is wrong...which we see in this same collected tales book.
Just so everyone knows what I'm talking about it's digital when we first see it in tales and then it's the one we've seen before and then in the Masks issues.
Just a small slip up but It's something I'd think they would haved noticed.
So I have a question to anyone but I'm sure Rose will answer it.
Has anything in the book besides the front intros been changed?

If you're asking about anything getting altered like TMNT #1, nopenopenope. Everything's original. Two of the issues are scanned (#1 & #7, I think), but I thought those came through pretty well. There were only a few instances where I could *really* tell that they weren't taken from the original art.

I had to ask because most of my TMNT comics are back in Los Angeles.
I'm finally going back in Feb. and not a moment to soon!

Treasury Edition reprint collecting the entire original Vol. 1 run of Eastman and Laird’s Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles… plus an all-new, never-before-published full-length story and all-new frontispieces by Jim Lawson!

so what was the all-new-never-before-published-full-lenght-story about?

so what was the all-new-never-before-published-full-lenght-story about?

It takes place kind of in toward the end of Tales #7, it's about Renet and the TMNT while they were trapped back in time.

It explains

how the scepter got inside that fish too

Well, I just read Tales v1 Treasury Edition and loved it! I would like to see the old frontispieces, but I like the new ones as well because... it shows us that Mike does indeed live to a ripe old age like Leo and Don. It appears that Raph dies significantly younger than the rest, though, because he didn't have the wrinkly skin that the others had in Don's holodeck. However, perhaps Raph doesn't actually die any younger than the rest. We know that he goes wacko and moves to the swamp, so maybe his appearance in these frontispieces is what he looked like when Don last saw him. So it is still conceivable that Raph actually outlives any of the others, but I think it's at least safe to say that Leo and Mike die before Don does, though all three of them live to at least 100ish.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that since it didn't look like anyone had brought it up yet in this thread.

I got my Tales Treasury Edition today.

I really liked Spinal Tapped.

And the Epilogue nearly had me crying.

Without getting controversial, it would be very sweet if the final page were no longer a simulation or a dream.
