I would want it myself buuuuuuuttt..
A good live action series would cost way to much money...next mutations animatronics aren't even good and that show cost a small fortune to make.

I would also prefer the current cartoon
Animation is my preference. I've never seen animation where I thought to myself, "those special effects look sooooooo fake... >_< And, those costumes are cheesey as hell!".
...
'Cuz you know hell looks, tastes, sounds, smells, feels and even acts like cheese, right? Ever'buddy knows dat! :embarass:

I love live action just as much as any form of animation.
So yeah, But the scope of television? No. Just not enough capital to do it right. I mean, come on..It would have to have absolutely killer design work, Stan Winston, big name design work, to pull it off right. AVPR is coming out, and those creature effects look pretty good, from what I've seen. The werewolves in Underworld were done pretty good too..So it can be done.
I just don't see it happening on a small time budget and looking as good as it should. TMNTVP...That would be sweet. I'd bring in Zulli, Booth(Brett, that is),
Stan Winston, and Pete and Kevin, and have a super design whipped up that was original and yet, classic. I bet Bess could do some killer designs for this. If only she was in the concept design business...

animation is better because you don't need actors experienced in martial arts. live action would look silly unless they used ninjas in the suits. cartoons and cgi can do things that live action cannot

Well it would be an interesting idea but I don't have HBO and having a TMNT show on HBO STILL wouldn't make me get the channel. :P

I guess I'm in the complete minority on this, as I wholeheartedly disagree with everybody else
A live action TMNT HBO show would be STELLAR AS HELL!!
You could tell more dramatic, mature stories that you could NEVER get away with in cartoon form (I know people will throw out the Same As It Never Was episode...but see stories similar to that but gone a little further? Again, stellar). No matter how dark a cartoon can get, IT'S STILL A CARTOON.
I think you could work out the costumes in a live action show...there's been many other live action, sci-fi TV shows out there with pretty damn good costumes. The later Star Treks, Farscape, etc. are good examples of that.
And with the fact it's on HBO, you could actually get away with prime stories dealing with issues, etc. In other words, TAKING THE TURTLES SERIOUSLY aka Respectfully.
Remember the cartoon episode based on the "Sons of the Silent Age" comic, and how they had to change the heart of that comic to fit a cartoon ep? You could have done that in a more faithful, deeper way (like it was in the comic) in an avenue where it can be appreciated. A.k.a. the live action, HBO show.
But again, I guess I'm the only one who thinks that way. Oh well lol.

ONLY if it was in the same style as TMNT1 with the same designs of the costumes (just modern machanics) and the same voices as well.

And the only people who would be able to do that well would be Henson and they wouldn't be able to aford them for a weekly tv show. But I agree that's the only way I'd want them also.

Well, I definitely agree with you. I would love a tmnt series like this. A perfect representation of the good vol.1 comics. The thing that hurts the most, is that personally, I really think that tmnt could thrive with more adult media. Everyone know's that the tmnt work great in a lot of different types of incarnations, so why can't they all share the spotlight?

I asked Kevin at comic con once what he would think of an HBO series modeled after the comic book series in the same vein at the Spawn cartoon series they had. He said he would love to see that but he presumed that Peter would never allow it.
