Pete used to update his "Blast from the Past" page with "Woo-Hoo's!" when the were in talks for this film. Apparently it got so far as there being an actual Splinter puppet produced and a Shredder costume.

I was wondering if anyone ever happened to see any leaked pics regarding this production? It obviously was not big budget being a Hallmark movie, but I still wonder what it would have become if if saw final production. Would we have gotten the more "adult", realistic Turtles we fans crave? Meaning would the story have been more serious and less light-hearted or do you think it would have become a goof-fest like "Men in White"?

Here you go (http://www.planetracers.com/blast/prblastarchive.html). There is some info about it at the bottom of the Blasts from the mid 60s through the mid 70s.

I've always wished Pete would put those pictures up, the ones of the finished maquette sculpture of Leonardo for the planned Hallmark two-part TV mini-series. I realy want to see what he looked like. Would have been a good indicator of how the rest of them looked. Maybe one day..

I just read all of the updates. All Peter talks about are the pictures, the sculpts, the video of Splinter (he even says it's better than the first two films), and all that. I want to see all this but I feel it will never come to the surface. I'm not sure but it seems the project was pretty far into production right?

Below the copyright information, email address, and counter, you'll see a section called "Woo-Hoo!", which is where miscellaneous information about the current (at the time) TMNT projects was posted. The Hallmark movie is first mentioned in Blast #67.

How long ago did he write all that stuff abnout the hallmark movie? Also, did he just forget to post the pictures or is there something preventing him legally?

Does the Hallmark TV movie have anything to do with the Next Mutation serie or was it after that one?

It didn't have any connection to Next Mutation at all. What little happened with the Hallmark project happened after Peter became sole owner, and when he became sole owner he pretty much wiped the Next Mutation out of existence (well, Venus at least, but it might as well have been the whole thing).

I'd LOVE to see that hallmark stuff....I dont see why anyone would care if we were to see it now...

It would be pretty interesting to see that stuff. Too bad it didn't pan out. Would have been interesting to see who they cast as April and Casey, or even Shredder!

That's an MTV casting choice, not Hallmark's. Going by the types usually associated with Hallmark Originals, who would be chosen? I haven't a clue about the regulars on that network, but I'd love to hear opinions from someone who is familliar with them. :)

Hallmark sometimes gets pretty big actors. Patrick Stewart did a hallmark movie once.

>_< Venus wasn't a bad idea. Making the other four Turtles annoyingly moronic to make Venus seem demeaning in comparison was the bad idea. She was actually the least annoying regular character in that series in spite PC ideal that she was. She was just introduced in the wrong corner of the franchise, and became a scapegoat for the fall of the franchise. Truth be told, I see no possible way that Turtles being handed over to their biggest competitors of the mid-'90s (Saban) could have not turned into a catastrophe. In essence, saying that Venus de Milo was responsible for The Next Mutation's lack of success is like saying Cody Jones was responsible for Fast Forward's lack of success.

You couldn't even say that if you really knew your stuff because Next Mutation at the time it was out was very successfull and now same goes for Fast Forward some times things just take time to catch on and it would seem the kids finally did with FF.

 'If I knew my stuff', huh? That was a very expected response from you. The thing you should stop is assuming any negative comment about these two parts of Turtles history needs you to discredit the person who said them. It's not nice and uncalled for. I've bought the UK DVDs of TNM just so I could be sure I knew what I was talking about. Venus made me grit my teeth less than anyone else in the show. Was that just me? O_o

BTW, I don't hate Fast Forward, and I'm tired of you and Spitfire always acting like I do when I say anything mildly negative about it. Please... knock it off.

What got me about NT:TNM was the whole "Oh, we're not brothers. We're pet shop turtles born and breed on a turtle farm." which played as an excuse for the "sexual tension" (god I never thought I'd post that in a TMNT thread.) between the guys and Venus. Venus wasn't a bad character. I loathe the restructuring of the story to fit her in and make the oggling ok.

My thing about introducing a female turtle was that it was a blatant attempt at trying to fit the TMNT into the Power Rangers formula, meaning there had to be at least one girl member, or it was an obvious attempt at making TMNT more PC. If they wanted to have a strong female character, they could have cast someone as April and explained that she finally decided to start training with the turtles so she could hold her own in a fight if she needed to.

Gobo I wasn't talking about you I was talking about people in general who bash this sh1t all the time yet know nothing of what went down at the time.
I worked in retail at the time of next mutation and those toys flew off the shelves. And the show had the highest ratings on fox kids just like Fast Forward does now.
And you know what good, if it's expected coming from me because I know what I'm talking about, you got p1ssed at me and I was agreeing with you dummy!
See the thing is Gobo you think everything is directed towards you when your not anymore important than anyone else on this site.
So what needs to be knocked off is that attitude, and I'll thank everyone on this site to stop acting like Spitfire and I are the same damn person when he's a hell of allot harsher about sh1t to all of you than I will ever be.
I Don't even mind the idea of Venus but her character was written as a retard.
The Villians to me especially Vam Mi, Boneteel, & Quease where the less annoying of the bunch on the show if you ask me I tend to watch the episodes from time to time on a whim.

I know, anyone who has seen this show knows that alot of s**tty things were goin on, and she was not in the top 5. It's just a fun thing to pick at looking back at it, since it is a silly idea.

You couldn't even say that if you really knew your stuff because Next Mutation at the time it was out was very successfull and now same goes for Fast Forward some times things just take time to catch on and it would seem the kids finally did with FF.

Yep, it was sorta big... I actually remember liking it, too. PL probably pulled the plug (can you really blame him?)

I came. I read. I'm stumped. And, putting you in league with Spit was for the fact that the both of you defend Fast Forward at the drop of a hat, even when it's not needed, and that was the context when I mentioned his name. So, you win this round... or-- did...? Whatever. So this thread can stay on topic, you win. Truce?

The buget was way to much to handle, and it kept getting screwed with, and it sufferd because fox kept doing it's favorite thing switching time slots.

I haven't said anything in any of the annoying Fast Forward threads in some time man I haven't even spoken in any of the threads when the new episodes where posted.
I posted about how well the next mutation did when it was on tv it had even better ratings than power rangers at the time and they didn't like that that's why the damn show was shown no support.
And that's why I even brought up Fast Forward it has nothing to even do with just FF at all if you or anyone else for that matter said anything I'd have posted the truth no matter who's fingers it came from.
I will defend anything at the drop of a body or anything else if it's being unfairly taken apart like a bad robot
There's nothing to win I was stating facts k thanks.
