I had to think of a character that would represent my the future World Champ... and thought: tables + hardcore + unstoppable = ? And it just so happened that RhYno was the answer.

I'm 5'7. And I heard Rey once say he was 5'4, actually it was right before a match with Nash on Nitro. I think Vinnie Mac has inflated Rey Rey's height to 5'6 just to give him that little extra bit of credibility.

By the way, one of my favorite Kevin Nash matches was at WCW UnCensored 1999, against Rey Rey. Some of my favorite spots in the match:

Nash picks Rey up over his head by the throat, then gives him an inverted atomic drop (drops him crotch-first on his knee). That had to hurt.

Nash sets Rey up in the corner and goes for the "get the guy in frame, crotch chop then give him a back elbow"... but Rey's too short, so Nash sits Rey up on the post itself, THEN does the move, knocking Rey ten feet to the floor.

Nash picks Rey up for the JackKnife Power Bomb and tosses him halfway across the ring. Rey Rey is in the air for almost three full seconds before impact. Anything with that much hang time oughta have a stewardess and an in-flight movie. (rimshot)

Now if Nash had been able to do stuff like that, SuperShredder woulda *killed* the Turtles. You just can't stop Kevin Nash. You can't mess with guys that are 7 feet tall, wear leather pants, and look a lot like Jesus. 8)

Victoria is so cool. I love her current gimmick, and she's got awesome ring skills. I'm glad the WWE made her train for two years before calling her up. Now she's showing how much her hard work paid off.

I feel bad for Justin. First he was the Man Of War, then he was X-Pac's follower in X-Factor. The poor guy was never given a chance to really shine. If they re-united the Impact Players, I'm sure he and Lance would've been a force to be reckoned with.

And poor Raven... I loved how he got a lot of mic time when he first debuted, where he basically played his ECW gimmick. Then he got thrown around a bit, and just when it looked like he had something going for him, WWE lets him go. 'Tis sad, really. :(

Nothing beats the time at Spring Stampede I think it was, when Kidman wrestled Vampiro in a match in the tournament for the U.S. Title. Mid-match, Hogan's black Dodge Charger skids to a stop in the backstage area, and Hogan gets out and heads to the ring. On the way, he delivers the single funniest improv line in wrestling history as he passes by a backstage hand...

"DON'T TOUCH MY DAMN CAR, EITHER!!" :lol:

Then he goes to the ring, beats the DOG outta Kidman, tosses him like a dart into the post, climbs up on the steps, grabs Kidman by the throat and literally SLAMS him on the announcers table... AND IT DOESN'T BREAK!!! Kidman is DEAD. So Hogan picks him up and DOES IT AGAIN! Then he tosses him back in the ring so Vampiro, looking scared as hell, can pin him.

Hogan then storms backstage and kicks in every dressing room door he passes in his search for Eric Bischoff. He finally finds him, and from the look on Eric's face, Bischoff looks for all the world like he wet his pants. He throws a REAL chair at Hogan, who shrugs it aside and grabs Bischoff by the throat, screaming 'I'M GONNA EAT YOUR ASS ALIVE!" Suddenly like 8 million cops burst in, Vince Russo behind him, and they PULL THEIR GUNS on Hogan! They cuff Hogan and drag him out while Bischoff screams "Don't cuff him, SHOOT HIM!"

I swear, it was the funniest thing I ever saw. I have my tape permanently set to that spot. And people wonder why I love wrestling? :P

I got to meet RVD when he did an Autograph signing.. HE IS SO DAMN COOL! He talked about Music with me for a little bit, told me what his favorite matches and people to work with are, and then when I was with my friend talking, he walked over to us before he left, and shook our hands and said bye... It is a memory I will never forget!

THE WHOLE F***IN' SHOW!" It was awesome. RVD talked with me about his ankle, saying "it's nothing compared to what my wife went through", referencing how she had crushed her leg in a boating accident the year before. I'm sure RVD was ok though... anyone that knows him knows that if he aint a walking spokesperson for medicinal marijuana, nobody is. :lol:

I *almost* met Hogan, I was literally two feet away from him, only seperated by a plate glass window. I was NEXT in line to go into "WWE The World" and meet him, and they cut the line off right in front of me and locked me and everyone behind me out. I tried bribing a security guard even, but no dice. :(

Actually, I like *some* of RVD's WWE matches better than his ECW stuff because they don't take forever. 20-minute matches are great, don't get me wrong, but not when it goes like "RVD hits a big move, stops, does the 'Rob... Van... Dam!' pose, then pauses while the fans cheer, then hits another big move, rinse, repeat." like 90% of RVD's ECW stuff was equally split between high spots and posing, and much as I LOVE the guy I was always like "c'mon, DO something already!"

That and his punches are the worst in the business, but his stiff kicks make up for it.

Aldo: That's right, no "Justin Credible" for me. Just like The Rock will always be "Flex", Justin Tolerable will always be called "Aldo" by me. I just never thought he was that good. When he got to the WWE you could really tell just how much Heyman's booking protected him in ECW.

Raven, however, I LOVE. It's sad that he was miserable in WCW, and walked out on his contract to be outta there, then goes to the WWF/WWE and it turns out that WCW actually was 100x better at using him. He was always over, always had an angle, and was always taken seriously. In the WWE, they turned him into a joke. That just sucks. See also: Saturn, Perry.

I'll agree with you on that ECW thing, the matches went FOREVER... atleast WWE they are only around 10 minutes or so... He isn't as flashy (dangerous)as he used to be. I know it's trendy to not like HHH, But I've been a fan scince Terra Rhyzin' in WCW... (I've been watching scince I was 4, I am now 23)

Ever. Forget the fact that ever since he got hurt he's been absolute crap in the ring, it's his BS politics that make me hate him now. I always thought he was a boring wrestler, now he's just a jerk.

One segment sums up HHH. Back in '99 or thereabouts, DX does a skit where they encounter several homeless people on the street. One holds up a sign that says "will work for food". HHH laughs and says "Work? You can't work, you're as bad as Jericho!" At the time, "Trips" and Jericho had NO storyline involvement with each other, "Trips" was just taking a mean-spirited jab at someone beneath him on the card who he sees as a threat. And don't forget that in wrestling, perception = reality. If Trips constantly hammers home the point that he's better than everyone (and he does, just count how many minutes of Raw are devoted to him each and every week whether he wrestles or not), then the audience starts to believe it.

Screw Trips. He's not as big a lying, back-stabbing egotistical weasel as that piece of garbage Shawn Michaels, but he aint far off.

I actually, didn't think of it untill after I typed it, but I didn't mean it to sound like YOUR Trendy for not liking him, I just meant in the Wrestling scene right now, it's a trendy thing to say... (Kinda like "I hate Goldberg" back in WCW, now the people that said that want him in WWE, ya know what i mean?) So That wasn't a shot at you...

The thing is, yeah he holds people down, but I just watch from home... I have no personal ties to anyone in the back, so aslong as I am being entertained every week, I dont care what happens in the back.

Might as well explain my festering hatred for Flex and Austin while I'm here...

Flex, aka The Rock: The "pet project" of Vinnie Mac. I never understood how someone the fans DESPISED when he came in could become the most popular star they have. Fact is, the guy isn't that much better in the ring than he was back in 96, he just gives better interviews. He's sloppy, everything he does is entirely too loose, his selling is pathetically overdone, and he pisses on Bret's legacy every time he does that lame excuse for a Sharpshooter. But Vince knew from Day One that he wanted Flex to be a star, so he rammed him down our throats until we accepted him, just like Trips. Not to mention one of the lamest finishers EVER in The People's Elbow, and the end result is a guy who is just so incredibly stupid that he annoys the heck outta me. When he's a heel, he's bearable. When he's a face, and the fans actually CHEER him for being ridiculous, it gets on my nerves. He's the "American Pie" of wrestling: catering to the absolute lowest common denominator, no redeeming value whatsoever, less funny with each viewing, yet overwhelmingly successful. And yet Raven gets released.

Austin: It's not so much that he walked out last year. I've heard his side, and he has a lot of good points. Creative SHOULD be in the wrestlers hands. But in hiring him back after saying he never would, Vince revealed that he has no spine. What if, and it's not at all farfetched, Austin does it again? At some point you have to be the boss. Aside from that, he suffers from the same "working too loose" dilemma that Flex has, but if he wasn't so lazy these days he could easily fix it, he's that good. More than anything, though, it bothers me that fans are still worshiping this guy after he smacked his wife around after walking out last year. He's an ass, plain and simple, and the fans oughta tell him so. But no, "it's ok you had a bad few weeks at work and smacked your wife around, Steve, it's ok, we forgive you. Drink your beer and give us the finger and we'll cheer you to the ends of the Earth". It's just wrong, people.

Again, just my opinions. God knows lots of people hate Hogan, and I worship the red and yellow ground he walks on.

How about when he fought Vader and threw a hissy fit mid-match because Vader was out of place for one little move?), and most of all, the Bret Hart incident. He recently came out and admitted he knew, from the beginning, that he was in on the screwjob. 99% of the free world knew this anyway, but if Shawn was a man he wouldn't have danced around the question for years.

I don't know, I think maybe it's a nostalgia thing I have for HBK... I've followed him scince AWA, and No matter what he;s done, Ive been with it... I even refused to believe his involvment in the Montreal Screw job untill he finally confessed. I think I remember the Vader incident you mentioned Summer Slam.. um 96 i think, right? ('cause I think 97 was Hitman/Taker)
But I never saw his music screw up... man I'd love to see that :lol:

But in all seriousness, I never played that "forgiveness" thing, especially when it comes to wrestling where the fans are hypocritical in favor of who they like or dislike. For example, Austin too begs forgiveness, in this case for beating his wife. A lot of people forgive him. I don't. A lot of people forgive HBK for being a d*ck in general for his entire career. I don't. And believe it or not, some people would argue that telling a bold-faced lie while "swearing to God" is worse than hitting a woman. Personally, not being very religious, I just call it "general d*ckish behavior" in both cases.

Or how about Hogan? People hate him because they say he can't wrestle, he only has a few moves, they say he plays politics, they say he protects his spot... and yet Trips is guilty of all that AND MORE, but a lot of people (and I'm not talking about you) think Hogan is the Anti-Christ and just think Trips is an annoying blowhard. It's funny to me how Trips is now engaged to Stephanie, therefore ensuring himself a top spot in the company until the day he dies, but back in '83 Hogan refused to even date Verne Gagne's daughter, because he knew it was a set-up by Verne to lock Hogan into the family so he would never leave the AWA. "I didn't want to marry the boss's daughter just to get some wrestling belt," Hogan says in his book. And yet what is Trips doing?

As far as wrestling skill goes, I managed to find a copy of Hogan's match with Great Muta from 1993. GOLD. Muta stalls a lot at the beginning, but it gets good FAST. Ever see Hogan do a freaking ENZIGUIRI? He pulled out more great stuff in that match than Trips has pulled out since he came back. So anyone who uses skill in the great Hogan-Trips debate can cram it, Hogan is GOD when he wants to be.

Keep in mind again I'm not talking about you, cuz you never mentioned Hogan.

Back to Michaels, though, I loved the guy back in 92. People tell me I look like him a lot (which kinda gets on my nerves, but I DO have hair that is just like his 92'93 look). It just bothered me that he acted like he was the champion of the fans, and then he and Nash and Hall would hold up a house show for 3 hours because they "werent happy with the storylines" and Vince would have to fly in and placate Michaels like a pampered baby with cholic. Well, he's paying for it now, because nobody really likes him, nobody really trusts him, his back is in pieces and his hair's falling out. Instant karma really is gonna get you, I guess.

And yeah, a few times during his after-match posing his music started skipping and he stopped posing and stormed out of the ring. This mostly happened at house shows, but there was at least one time it happened on tv I think, cant remember when.

Another classic example of Shawn Michaels Charm School was at WM 11, Diesel whips him out of the ring and he lands on a cameraman. Michaels grabs the guy in an unscripted spot and drags him on the ground by his shirt, then tosses him aside. Then, realizing what a jerk he looks like, he does a lap around ringside to compose himself before getting back to the match. What a pro.

Actually, I respect Hogan... you can't blame the guy for being slow and
having 5 moves now, HE'S GETTING OLD! Just look at his old Matches, they were exciting! I still get chills down my spine everytime his music hits, I want to start cheering at him through the TV, like an 8 year old! Few people have had that Charisma that Hogan has, like him or not, the only person I can compare it too is Goldberg... yeah he was shoved down our throats, but he was intimidating, and charismatic.

And Goldberg could also do More moves than he usually showed, At his first PPV (I have it on tape, I cant remember which one it is right now, I think Starrcade 97) He did a BUNCH of actuall wrestling holds, before the spear and jackhammer, the match went 10 minutes or so.

lol karma's a bitch ain;t it? I kinda remember hearing about the Kliq's antics, but I didn't have the internet back then, so I had no Idea what was going on back stage, so I was oblivious on what HBK was about, untill Montreal. (I got the internet a few months before that Survivor Series)

It was at a time where he was a heel and everyone said "What" after he paused. But he got alot of us... even me!!! I was so embarrassed, because some laughed at me... :P Anyway... I really loved the ending... unforgettable. Angle had a microphone and went up to a 5-year-old little boy and asked him questions, but the kid would say "What" after every little thing Angle said. Angle got pissed and scared the boy away.

Then he went to a little black 8 year old... and asked, "Do you like Kurt Angle?" And the kid replied, "Yeah... you da bomb!"

The whole stadium booed the kid... then Angle gave the kid a hug then said. "Could you repeat that to these hicks?"

Then the kid said, "Psyche... you suck mudda f***er!!!"

THE WHOLE STADIUM ERUPTED INTO LAUGHTER... OH MY GOODNESS. I even laughed. Angle was irate, as the kid laughed and ran away. Unforgettable moment... I still have the ticket from that event in my wallet.

I gotta say, though. Bob Backlund is one of the coolest guys ever. He talked to me and my friends for a bit, before going to the showcase ring and working the crowd. He provided entertainment while we waited for a Crash/Taka match. Everyone was booing him except for us, and when Bob left, he gave me and my friends a thumbs up. The crowd had no idea why he was so nice to us, but insulted the rest of them. :D

Wow... you met Bob Backlund??? Legends are all around us. It's strange though, Terri Runnels lives in this town. Anyway... I remember when people told me I looked like The Rock... I guess that explains why that one girl at school that's crazy for The Rock dedicated most her time trying to convince me to go out with her. Too bad it didn't work. :P Anyway... I remember at the house show how so many people arrived. I was so sad to think back and see we booed Mr. Perfect when he arrived. I didn't feel guilty at first, but I do now.

But we got to see Ric Flair knock Undertaker with a chair, though it was executed and done so cornily. Cat fights were nice... and the intensity was great. Watching Kurt Angle mess up on that one move he does where he runs to the opponent on the top turnbuckle, and then overhead suplexes them off. He messed up, and Kane landed on him. But Kane won the match with a Chokeslam. It's so much better when you watch it in person.

But your WrestleMania fanfest experience sounds GREAT!!! Watching Crash and Taka... whatever happened to him anyway? Two light-heavyweights, that's pretty awesome! Anyway... I guess that's practically the only wrestling experience I've had. Now... I just RP for Efeds and backyard wrestle (it's too fun NOT to do it... the warnings just make you wanna do it more).
