My husband went into a collectible store the other day and asked if they had any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles merchandise. Unfortunately, the employee said no, but then he started reminiscing:
Employee: Oh, yeah! TMNT was a great show! I used to watch it all the time! What were their names again? Let's see, there was Valentino...
My husband: :blanksta: Uhm, I'm pretty sure Valentino was a lover, not a renaissance artist...
I laughed so hard when he told me the story, I just had to share it with you guys. :D
I can just see it now - Valentino, the fifth turtle:
But Master Splinter, why do we have to kick the bad guys' butts? Can't we romance them instead? We could start by sending some flowers, then maybe chocolates...

Actually the "fifth" turtle is really Peter Best, who was the drummer for a short period of time before Mikey joined the group for licensing purposes.

When I hear this I imagine a flamboyant turtle with a top hat on and a rose in his mouth.

This is about as bad as the Target employee when I picked up the recent movie on DVD.
"I used to watch that all the time back in the day. My favourite was Yoda - he was the smart one, right?"
Instead of causing an uproar, I bit my lip, smiled, and nodded.

Are you serious? :ohwell:
I would have corrected him: "No, that's definantly Star Wars... you know Ninja Turtles was the one with the Ninja Turtles right?"

You win. At least the collectible store employee my husband talked to remembered that the Turtles were named after Italians. All your Target guy remembered was that they were GREEN.
Neat picture of Valentino, syd! :)
Thank you, Justice! Glad you like it! X>

Still pretty odd, since the Turtles are more well known than the artists they're named after.

Ha ha ha... I just wanted to share a similar appearance. I wasn't trying to win anything. ;)
