What's your favourite and least favourite season, not including RS. My favourite is Season 3, no question. I guess season 4 is my least favourite. What do you think?

why no redsky? Those are some of my fave episodes!
Anyway if it's excluded I'd go with season 1 & seasons 6 & 7 as my faves.
The cbs episodes are my faves.

Favorite- 1-3 and 6-7.
Least favorite- 4, 5, and the European Vacation sideseason. They had material to make the European Vacation a MUCH better season than what they ended up creating.

Those would be the Red Sky seasons (which don't count in this thread) and that college kid tagging along with them was Carter.

Yeah i know it was the red sky seasons, but is there an explanation why it was red? always hated that carter character, he was like a bad copy of raphael, if the turtles told him something he always went out with he´s motorcycle, and then when the turtles search for him, they always find him leaning against the wall thinking he´s tough, that went on my nerves :tmad:
also, lord dregg looked like a 200 year old alien grandmother :X

While season one blew me away the first time I watched it, I've watched it about 500 times since so I don't love it as much any more (it's still great tho).
Seasons 3 and 7 are overall boss seasons, and 2 and Red Sky are my runner ups.
I don't hate any season as a whole, but the worst was Euro vacation.

I enjoyed nearly all the seasons of the old toon growing up (and now) but my all time favorite season is season seven, when the show started to take it self serioiusly again and give us go back to the way it was in the first season.

Actually, now that I think of it, season 5 is the worst, season 4 had some good episodes. I think season 6 was a big improvement. Do you agree that Season 6 was way better than 4 and 5??

Season one is by far the best season(IMO;)) If the show had kept going that route...I don't even wanna go there, but i think it would have been a truly amazing cartoon, and maybe would have gotten as much respect as something like B:TAS. I know thats a huge claim, but the first season, with a little bit of improvement as the show went on would have been something. I don't really know what my least favorite season is...thats a toughie.
I notice a lot of you guys like seasons 6 and 7 a lot...and I'm sure I've seen them...but not in the last ten years. So refresh me, what was so great about these seasons compared to the others? They couldn't have been season 1 quality...right?

season 6 and 7 are better because most of the episodes were written by David Wise, who wrote all 5 episodes of season 1 and many great epiodes of season 3. And The only episodes that were any good from season 4 and 5 were the ones written by David Wise. David Wise is TMNT87, along with Michael Reeves who wrote the best episodes of season 2 and 3, and 3 pretty good episodes of season 4.

Season One because it was cool that it was in one big story arc. Since that season was short, I'm going to say that season three was great too. Was that season with the episode where all those turtles got kidnapped? I remember really liking that episode a lot as a kid.
Least favorite, probably whenever I stopped watching, which was probably 1992 or 1993 or so.

Yeah, I could go on for a while about sason 1, but I'll just state one thing that isn't brought up much: They used alot of interesting and different "camera angles" that you don't get to see in a lot of cartoons. I don't know if it would have been Batman TAS like, but it would have been better. Then again, mabey if it had stayed true to what it was, it wouldn't have been the huge epidemic that it was... something to think about.

I think they could have kept the same tone as season one and still be just as successful. At the same time though, part of the fun of the cartoon series are the plots that seem like they're taken from old 50's movies and comic books. So I guess what could have been best would have been to include those kind of plots, while still keeping Shredder as menacing. I think that's what the biggest strike against the old toon might be, it's hard to take Shredder seriously as a villain when he whines.

I can barely remeber season six, was this the season when the show started to reflect seasons one tone a bit more? Did it have a season finale?

Question for those of you who's favorites include season 3 and seasons 6 or 7...Which did you like more? The reason I ask is, as we all know...nostalgia is tricky. Of course I'll always love the old toon for my memory of it as a childhood, but going back and watching, the only episodes I've been able to really enjoy are the ones from season 1. Season 3 has some good memories, but it's just a tad too goofy for me to get into. I'm hoping seasons 6 or 7 will be more to my liking.

Like I said, I like the throwback to old 50's sci-fi movies. The only thing that really bugs me about the series is how whiny Shredder is. It's hard to think he's supposed to be a ninja master.

I agree. If it had not been for the first season, and the way they presented shredder as a more serious, and mysterious enemy...I don't think I would have taken him seriously at all.

I would have to agree about David Wise and Michael Reaves. They did write many of the best episodes of the series. When looking at the episode guide at the Official TMNT Site I notice that David and Michael have a lot of episodes under their name for the first couple seasons, then around half-way through Season 7 David pretty well takes over with writing the series until the very last Season when Jeffrey Scott takes over.
