I found this site about creature suits in movies.
The Turtles are in this top 20 on the 5th place! Pretty good heh!

Sweet list. I think Amy from Congo should have made the cut. She was just so lovable. Nice job on the turtle suits beating out Chewbacca!

I think the turtle suits are definitely worth mentioning on a list like that. I remember watching the movie for the first time in a while and was amazed at how well the turtle costumes hold up. You'd think having turtles that did martial arts moves on screen would be tough to pull off, but they managed to do it.

Alien probably does belong at #1. Due to the design, it is easier to suspend disbelief that it's someone in a suit.

I have to agree on that! But it can also be blamed on the acting talents of the guy in the suit

If you look at their list of the best comic book weapons you'll see Casey's golf bag.

I guess the turtles weren't eligible for the animal-themed list since they were supposed to be mutated turtles. If only the crooked Ninja Turtle Gang was added to the comics...

I meant hold up as in...you can look at the TMNT suits today and it's still easy to suspend disbelief about them being mutant turtles, it isn't like an alien costume from a 50's b-movie which is clear as day a guy in a suit.

Yeah, the Turtle suits in the first one really do look like humanoid turtles, and you don't think about them being guys in a suit. TMNT 2 and 3 on the other hand, the suits got worse and worse, until they looked like guys in horrible rubber frog suits.

actually I thought the suits in 2 were better in every way (except raph's cranial structure. Loved raph's head in movie 1).

The plastron in soto looks much better

Nice! Yeah, the Turtle suits were amazing. They still look real to me. Including the second movie.

The first movie suits are my fave, I am still so impressed with the details The skin, the eyes, the way the costumes fit, it all just came together.
If you see the special about the making so much went into those suits, not just the outside but all the mechanics and puppeteers it took to make them talk. They definitely deserve to be on that list. Amazing!!!
