My Girlfriend's dad found a cache of records that someone was chunking on the side of the road and as they were going through them they found the soundtrack to the first movie on LP. She has it for me and is gonna give it to me when next we meet. What do you think something like that would be worth?
$30 or more, depending on the condition.

Not really gonna be worth much of anything. It's not particularly rare and why pay a lot of money for something on LP when you can get it on CD with much better sound quality?
Still, a cool find! I just got a record player for Christmas, so I've been scouring eBay recently for interesting LPs.

How do you figure that? If it's the boxed picture disc version, maybe. But just the standard soundtrack? Not likely.

Kinda what I thought guys. For me, it's a nostalgia thing. I probably wouldn't part with it, but like my promotional box of TMNT cereal and my signed issue of Vol4 issue 1, I wanna know what it's worth...to make me feel good about owning a collectible

I know what you mean. I fully intend to "steal" my dad's Star Wars LPs from him next time I go home, even though I have all of it on CD. :D

What a coincidence. I actually came across a vintage & collectibles store a couple of blocks down my house and I actually found the same thing. Weird ain't it? One person who worked there from which I bought it from was a tmnt fan, selling some other turtles collectibles he had back in the day. He said it ranges from $10-15. It was a pretty nice steal for only $14. Forgot to mention that he had two, so I had to get both along with the Coming Out of Their Shells tour vhs, all in fine condition.

Didn't mean it was quite worth that much, but I've never seen it sold for much less, if at all. The LP version is a good 10 or so times of higher rarity than the CDs. And, that's why LPs almost always go for more than their CD counterparts. :) Wasn't aware there were two LP versions though...

There's actually a third version that's die-cut and features a picture of the Turtles and April on the record.

Umm LPs and records are worth plenty of cash. I collect them. It's not about sound quality they have collectors value. Some are colored specially, picture disks, and packaged specially.
Some are worth a heap, like the Street Survivor record that was pulled after the Lynyrd Skynyrd accident. Or the Iron Maiden record I have imported from Japan.
