How do you think they Turtles will look like in the new season, I'm talking about their outfit. Will they be wearing the fast forward outfit when they come home, or will they have the original look? what do you think?

Murphy posted a picture of the new design (at least of Leonardo) in his blog some time ago. I could not find it when I searched for it, though.
He said the pupils were not set in stone. Otherwise he was pretty detailed about it.

As far as their outfit goes, they'll have no need for their FF get-up, so I'm certain that's out. The only thing I can think of would be if the turtles need some outfit in order to visit the digital world; otherwise, they should be the same. But yeah, the animation style is a bit different than what we're used to. As Scandia said, Murphy has posted a pic of Leo and several pics of various other things if you're interested in seeing the new style.

Though I wonder if $kids forced him to take them down. Basically, Leonardo looked almost the same as he did in FF (angular) , but the body was slightly redesigned to be like an angular stylization of the movie designs, including muscular for arms. He also had black pupils. Not a fan of them, actually.

I certainly do. But this is a fair compromise. Could have been much worse. They just need to round the cheeks a bit more.

Yeah thats something thats always bothered me since FF. They also need to make all those pointed parts like around his legs, arms, hands etc. more curved.

He looked just as sharp edged as Fast Forward. There's no more nice rounded cheeky faces, or muscles. IMO, the Leo art looked bad. What's wrong with nice art!? I hope the stories make up for the crap art.
This digital concept though......meh...
I think the TMNT should stay black pupil-less for consistency. To have them with pupils all of a sudden after 6 seasons of the new toon would be weird.

omg! I just realized that after you pointed it out! That looks so bad. TMNT should always have the white slits for eyes when they're wearing their bandanas. It's been in the comics, 2k3, so why not here?

yeah...after seeing the return of detailed animation with shadowinging and countors on the turtles and people, I'm feeling nostalgic for the classic 2k3 animation. But at least in nthe concept art with Leo for season seven the coloring looks looks darker and and grittier than the bright nearly glaring coloring of Fast Foward. that would go a long way with me if the coloring returned to the dark and shadowed way it used to be.

The general idea of Leo's look here is alright, just round him out and I think he'd look great.
I could go either way about pupils, but I'm used to 2K3-only with out the bandana should you see their eyes completely. They obviously want to tie this in with the new movie look so...deal with it.

It was indeed supposed to mimick the movie, all the while being "Streamlined" so it would be more cost effective. Less angles to draw= less work= lee money needed to pay animators. I would like to see that body rounded a bit more, with the head of the 2K3. and no Pupils... though I actually don't mind the pupils. Though I think it pretty much defeats the purpose of making them blocky looking to save money if they have to animate pupils on them as well.

Did you draw them? Or did you get them somewhere?
I am curious for two reasons:
- the belt and holster show a greater amount of detail than the streamlined animation would allow.
- the ankles and calves on the first one are disproportionately thick. Ditto for the wrists.
Otherwise they look great. I especially like the shading.

I think Shredder, while a good character, isn't necessary for the turtles. Brownranger, Shredder is NOT supposed to be the main villian of the TMNT verse.

Yeah. Shredder may be the main villain folks think of in TMNT conversations, but he only has short amounts of time in each TMNT-universe.

I assume Viral is one of if not the main villian since she is the one that causes Splinter to be scattered in cyberspace.

In all seriousness, the only universes where Shredder isn't the main villain are the comics.
The new show has made it very obvious that Shredder, or the various forms of Shredder, are still the main enemy of the Turtles. Despite the fact that it may not necessarily be the same Shredder they fight against, (heck, Karai wore the Shredder armor for awhile), he's considered the main villain.
In the movies, if Shredder comes back for TMNT 5 like its hinted, then Shredder was in three out of 5 theatrical movies.
In the old toon, he was the main villain for Seasons 1-8 and got a last hurrah in Season 10.
Its really only the Mirage and Archie (kinda) comics where he wasn't the main villain, although as said the Forever War brings Shredder back again, so go figure.

Which was why I was thrilled that he was mentioned in passing in the new film. While I love Shredder, he doesn't have to be the focus of the entire series, and he shouldn't be the villain to uphold the franchise. Batman fought Riddler and Penguin too, not just the Joker (dispite the fact he's the most popular of the bunch).
But if that Shredder Utrom guy whos name I'm not even going to bother to try actually does show up, and is not just an action figure design (like Murphy was sort of hinting at), there's no doubt Shredder in some shape of form will appear, albeit briefly.

It'll be just too weird to see them fight an alien bug.*sigh*.
Define "weird" in a show about mutated Turtles, talking rats, a mutilated-per-week scientist thriving on robot bodies and degenerate clone bodies, time travel, living viruses, and alternate dimension Ninjas?
Nevermind the fact that Ch'rell is arguably the longest-running Shredder on the current series, and that includes his cameo in FF. Why should Shredder have to be human? He's not even human in the comics, he's a shark/octopus/mystic hybrid right now, and before that he was cloned from worms. Not even the "definitive" one can stick to normalcy.

Even though that concept art isn't the final design, it does look good.
As for Shredder being the main bad guy, there were other villains the Turtles dealt with in the 2K3 series. The Ultimate Ninja, Drako, Lord Hebi, the Purple Dragons, Bishop, Stockman, and Savanti Romero. Yeah, Shredder seems like the main bad guy, but he wasn't present in season 4, except for Karai donning his armor and taking his place.

My main concern is not the looks but honestly Mikey, and I don't know why. Like, in the beginning of season 3, he was the man. He had good ideas, his fighting was top notch, but then it went down hill. He became the same brat that he's always been. I hope they make him better this time around, while keeping his goofiness intact.

I agree completely. In season three he was starting to mature and become more capable and reliable, and in season four I was seeing the beginnings of his character really coming around and coming less silly and obnoxious, and becoming a more serious character over-all that was on par with his brothers (in his own way). Then when the show became more kiddy they went and took all that maturity he had gained in seasons three and four and made him even worse than he was in the start of the series. Heck not only did they make him childish but they made him more stupid than I've ever seen Mikey portrayed. I mean don't get me wrong Mikey in the 2k3 series was never a full time intellectual, but he was never out right stupid eighther, there was always some sublety to Mikey's character that never made you sure if he was actually dumb or not and it was done in just such a way that his times brilliance where not so out of left field and was "in character" for Mikey but also shocking enough that you would be kind of "whoa" Mikey came up with that? But now he is just bumbling moron who says things that are so stupidly out of context it hurts me. He still occassinally has "smart" moments but they are very far and in between now, and there is no sublty to him any more. :(

Yeah... I didn't like how overly-exxagerated annoying Mikey was in FF. Like that tantrum thing he was throwing when he REALLLY wanted to help Don and Cody fix the time machine or whatever it was, and them making a comment about how his annoyingness had no limits or something....
But then again, FF was overly simplified and over-exxagerated with the characters. Everything Raph said was some kind of snide remark or insult, and everything Mikey said was overly childish and stupid. And they get rid of Sh'Okanbo in a one-part episode? C'mon!!

I swear, Mikey is my tip top turtle. And it pained me to see how he acted in FF. He was dumb, he was childish... his nerdy lust for comics and fun was turned into being a 10 year old.... and as much as I liked the Turtle titans one, I felt he acted more like Darkwing Duck... if Darkwing was really immature. I hope they bring back his complexity, and don't resort to over caracaturizing his personality again.

Me, I'm not looking for serious Mike, I'm looking for a Mike that isn't an oversimplified bafoon. Which goes back to the main thing I had against FF. The characters were caractured, and the subtlety of their characters were blurred until they appeared cartoony in their own right. Mikey, Splinter, and Raph were horribly affected by it. Mikey became a child, Splinter became an old fogey who liked soap operas a little too much, and Raph became Oscar the Grouch. I hope we get their real personalities back this time.

But then you don't really like Mikey ;) However I do agree with you Putrescent about Mikey. He has always been immature and annoying even in the hard core days of the 2k3 series, but that was because the writers decided that funny and young=hyper active and, obnoxious. It's just that in addition to that Mikey had a sublty to him that made him more than his apprent flaws. He was a bit more dynamic. Like in the Grudge Match episode where his cocky attitude drove his family to abandon him when he was challenged for his right to be battle nexus champ. He was cocky and abrasive but he also showed a bit of vulnerablity and hurt during the episode as well as self doubt and then how noble and humble he can be. And all the while he was still his goofy and one liner cracking self, but it showed a more dynamic side to his character. And in season three and four it finnally seemed like he was growing a bit. When the show became more toned down it seemed like they striped away his nuances and just made him a cookie cutter idiotic spoiled brat just to make his character more flashy. This isn't a rant about Fast Foward just how Mikey has deevolved since the show began and his fans feel a little cheated.

You're right on that one I don't hate him but he's my least favorite turtle, always has been.
I just really don't see all that much of a differnce in 2k3 & FF Mikey they all became very relaxed after just saving the world living in a rich penthouse in the future where they could do anything they please.
So if I had that infront of me I'd probably be acting the same way.
But still even with that especially at the end they where teaching him lessons.
Allot of Fast Forward to me felt like the Mikey show which perhaps is why kids liked it so much, I don't know.
I'm a Donatello & Raphael fan so I guess that could explain why I've never been much of a Mikey fan I do like him in the Image comics and some times in Mirage. But Grudgematch was my favorite new series episode about Michaelangelo.
I also really liked Clash of the turtle titans because we saw how jelious he can be and it really taught him a lesson about being that way.

yeah but what has been pointed out before is it is not so much that the where giving Mikey some focus, it that they where giving him the wrong kind of focus. Alot of attention was put on Mikey's really bad habits and personality flaws and, yes I know that this was also done in 2k3, but it seemed they had a better way of balancing it out with some good or more admirable qualites. Now it just seems like all his bad qualites get glorified and exploited so that it becomes the aspect that makes up who he is. :ohwell:

I've gotten so used to the turtles not having pupils that I would rather that they don't have them now (at least in the 2k3 series). I kind of like the turtles being pupilless with the masks on and then having them when they are off. It makes for a nice contrast between "warrior" turtles with them looking tough and threatening and mature, and "normal" turtles when they are chilling in their disguise watching a hockey game, looking very warm, friendly and young. For some reason I always think the turtles look younger with out their face masks, like their natural youth and innocence of being teenagers is more apparent when they are with out the bandannas and are wearing clothes.

I really like all the designs I've seen so far.
The Leo designs are close enough to Season Six to be a continuation, but they're closer to the old style than Fast Forward, for the whole Back to the Sewers concept.
I don't mind the pupils. I actually kind of like them. But I also like consistency, so maybe it'd be better if they were whited out.
Either way, I'm stoked about Season Seven. I hope this series doesn't end.

I wonder if instead of having simple black pupils when their masks are off, they have colored irises like the did in the movie. like:
Leo: light brown

Raph: Russet Brown
Mikey: Baby blue
would be kind of interesting, but do you think the animaters would go into that detail?
