Are the Utroms immortal? Or do they just have longer lifespans than any of the species found on Earth?

Do they eat or drink? Eliminate waste?

Do they sleep?

Are there male and female ones?

Do they answer any of these questions at all in any of the universes?

Though haven't read too many of the Mirage comics, the 2k3 Series does somewhat touch on the aspect of the Utrom's longevity. With the basic thing of after their crash-landing they needed (and were able) to wait out the ages between feudal Japan and present day; for humans to get technologically-advanced enough that they could get a means to get back home.

I love Utroms...let me try my theories. ^_^

I don't think they're immortal. Perhaps they are in a sense that they will live as long as they are not killed. I think Ch'rell was effectively puréed in SAINW.

Do they eat or drink? Eliminate waste?

All life must sustain itself on something, thouth the utroms are so advanced there probably is no waste. Unless of course...this is the true origin of the ooze.

Do they sleep?

Yes...at least a form of sleep when they're hooked up to the oracle chambers. Beyond that, it isn't specified.

Are there male and female ones?

That one's tough. They do have distinguishing voices, but they don't always match up with the implied genders of their exosuits.

Do they answer any of these questions at all in any of the universes?

The only experience I have with Utroms is 2k3. ^_~

The ooze was a byproduct of the Transmat device, not really an Utrom waste. They haven't really answered it in the early Mirage stuff. I haven't read too much of Vol 4 so I don't know what they've established there.

The joke was a biproduct of my being a smartass, not a real answer. :P

Are the Utroms immortal?
No.

Or do they just have longer lifespans than any of the species found on Earth?
They have longer life spans.

Do they eat or drink?
Yes.

Eliminate waste?
Yes - but that's nothing something that we'll ever illustrate (unless someone makes an Utrom add-on for The Sims).

Do they sleep?
Yes.

Are there male and female ones?
Yes.

Do they answer any of these questions at all in any of the universes?
The TV cartoon explains that they are very long-lived. Female Utroms have appeared in the Mirage Studios TMNT comics, and Utroms have been shown drinking in our comics, too.

Yeah, great guy too. I shoot him emails about once a month and he always responds with a "thanks for writing" at the end.

I think the utroms are a pretty awesome group of aliens. People talk about how aliens in fiction always look like humans with some minor differences, in Ninja Turtles the aliens look kind of like brains. It's cool to see something different.

Plus as a fan who knew about Krang and the cartoon first, it was interesting to find out that the aliens he was based on weren't villains.

The teeth are a little creepy. But once you get past the teeth, they are almost as cute as those Nibbler things from Futurama.

I always imagine Nibbler's "real" voice whenever I read what an utrom is saying in a comic.

I’m just going to open up the thread Necronomicon and give some input. It’s more sensible than starting a new thread that’s pretty much doing the same thing as this one.
Though, my questions dig a little deeper than the original set, and will probably just go to speculation than have actual answers.

1. How do their organs fit in their bodies? Especially in the Mirage/4Kids form. Are their organ just long instead of round like most Earth creatures? Do they work something out like octopuses? Beakless octopuses with really, really tiny tentacles (which I’ve noticed are telescopic…which is awesome).

2. When Obligado recollects his infancy and sees his mother, he remembers her feeding him, most likely nursing. Before then, I thought Utroms couldn’t nurse their offspring, if only just because they didn’t have any space for it. But now it seems I’ve been derailed. Somehow they do make the space, and all while allowing their offspring to see their mother in the face (or at least some recognizable feature, since they’re 25% face). So now the question is, where exactly do they make the space?

This is the scene in question

(I find it funny how he seemed to be immediately sated, which leads me to make a further assumption that baby Utroms need to be fed constantly...like baby hummingbirds. They'd be pretty tiny.)

3. Speaking of their freaky teeth, what is up with their mouths and teeth? Biologically speaking, what should they be able to eat? The only niche I see them filling is carnivore…at least lower-tier carnivore. They have an affinity for lobster in the Vol 4 of Mirage, so maybe something like that? Sharp teeth to break the shell and terrifyingly massive mouths for grip? The best I can compare their teeth to is like crocodile teeth – all sharp and pokey.

4. Are they naturally aquatic? In Mirage they’ve taken to water incredibly well, to the point that they can even talk underwater (how?), and it’s made me wonder how if land is not their natural environment. It doesn’t seem like much of a coincidence that they’d also like shellfish if they can get around water better than on land, where they need mechanical assistance to get around.

5. How did they develop their mechanical assistance in the first place? They don’t exactly have the appendages for much early crafting, though I am enjoying the mental image of an Utrom trying to shape a stone tool with its little extendo-tentacles.

6. They don’t have nostrils, so how do they perceive smell? For now, I’m assuming they have olfactory pits on the roof of their mouth interior; it would probably be helpful for my aforementioned question of if they were originally aquatic; then they wouldn’t be able to inhale water. So then, part two of this…how would they be able to take gas pain killers like morphine…of all the questions I could ask relating to that?

I’m just going to stop here for now.

Just like humans, they're physical beings, and nothing can live forever. Eat, drink, elimate waste and sleep must everyone do. And sure there must be both sexes.

They just have longer lifespans, just take a look at life here on Earth. A dog may live for 6-12 years, a human for 85-90 years and trees can live for thousands of years.
