I know Don's the techno-geek in the cartoons. Wether the old or new show, Don is always used as the excuse to have stuff like the Turtle Van, Turtle Blimp, Cheapskate, Retrocatapult, Battle Shell, Sewer Slider, Shellcycle, Shell Sub and a long list of etcs in the show.

But... what exactly did Don do in the comics? I mean, I know he didn't go around creating transdimensional portals and the like in the comics, but what was HIS scientific angle? I do know from the summaries of Volume 4 that he always seems to be in these stories that involved explosing strange phenemenon and discovering new aliens and monsters and other bizzare sci-fi stuff, and he also kept Baxter's brain alive for the sake of scientific conversation or whatever... but what exactly did Donnie do so scientific or tech-head-ish in Volume 1?

It wasn't so much a physical, "I'm going to go and invent something to help us do this" sort of thing with Don in the comics. It was more of a personality trait. He was always more intelligent and technologically/scientifically minded than the others, but (and this is the way I read it, others may have interpreted this differently) at the end of Volume 1 he kind of saw this as his own personal weakness, and decided to stay with Splinter in Northampton to better himself. Volume 4 saw him alter a robot to essentially become a robo-Don while he was three-inches tall!

When they were at the farm in Northampton, he got the windmill working for power and hot running water.

Robo-Don? Surprisingly, I haven't seen that. For some reason, all I can picture is Cyber-Don from Volume 3... only much easier to reverse provided all the sci-fi drama going on in Volume 4.

He didn't need to do anything tech-y.

He killed the f***ing Shredder. That more than makes up for it.
