Not counting the writing, which honestly the new Spider-Man cartoon has some great dialogue. What I'm talking about is the animation. It's stylized and what's the same approach 4kids is going with Season 7. I think it going to give us an idea of what to expect from the new season. At least I hope so. What do you think?

I would hope so but Spider-man has more funding then turtles does. The new season is going to look like the flashback segments in "The Journal" A fusion of 2K3 and Fast Forward.

You say that like it's a bad thing, Spit.

I'm pretty sure that it will look at least slightly different then the flashback parts of fast forward. There is still time for them to have changed things up a bit too.

Honestly, good coloring can make all the difference. I think that's why I can still get over the kindergarten character design in Spectacular Spider-Man (plus they have EXCELLENT writers for that show). It's designed like it's for six-year-olds, but its colored to appeal to older viewers as well. For season 7? --so long as we don't get that cheap-ass neon coloring job like in the Lost Season, so long as the colors are tasteful and play it safe -- and are inspired more from reality than the Winx Club -- they could get away with quite a lot of awful design without being too hard on the eyes. :)

Not at all I've become quite fond of that style and I could live with the series looking like that.

Was'nt Spectacular Spiderman designed by the same artist who also did the concept work for Transformers Animated though?

Well, regardless of how the new character designs turn out, as long as Dong Woo is animating it then the visual quality should remain pleasant.

Even Fast Forward, with all its simplified designs and bright colors, still had excellent and consistent animation quality. After 6/7 seasons, I would hope that 4Kids doesn't ditch Dong Woo for somebody cheaper. That would be the nail in the coffin for my dedication to the series.

If Spectacular Spider-Man is an indication of where TMNT is going, then it doesn't bother me. So far the series seems to be pretty good. I don't mind the fact that its "villain of the week" right now, because everything is still connected.

what!? To be honest I'll be disappointed if the animation looks like the new spiderman :|

Are we going to start that Batman TAS vs The Batman stuff again? You might as well reopen the old Old TMNT vs New TMNT stuff while your at it. The Spectacular Spider-Man doesn't need to be the 90's series any more than Batman TAS has to be like the Adam West show.

As I said in the Spider-Man news thread, I didn't care for the art style at first, but it starts to look better and better with each episode. I still have problems with those dialated irises with no pupils, though. Especially on close ups.

Night of the Lizard was an awesome episode, but other then that..I'm gonna have to say this new one will probably blow it away in the long run. It has a ton of potential so far.

Thanks, I needed a laugh. And for the love of god people, it's SPIDER-MAN. Not Spiderman.

The 90s Spider-Man show was fine for the first 3 seasons or so. After that, while I can't say it lost focused, it certainly lost it's essence. Spidey just doesn't seem to work as a space-faring, dimension-jumping, time-travelling hero who has to save the universe. Spidey, much like TMNT, seems to be best when on the streets and rooftops of New York.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I seriously hate fans like this, nostalgia hounds who cant get their arse out of the 90s long enough to realize animation moves on, and some of it is as good as what they used to watch

Erm...are you on drugs? The 90's animation looked stiff as s*ite. The only time it had outstanding animation was "Night of the Lizard".

I don't see what the big deal is both series are good for the time period that they came out.
The 90's one fits with other 90's cartoons of it's time and the 2008 show fits well with modern animation it reminds me a little bit of the style from Kim Possible.

"I like toitles!"

I meant to say, I liked the MTV Spider-Man 'toon that a couple years ago! The art was kickin' with that cel-shaded look, and the Lizard on that series was freaking sick!

PS - Points to whoever gets my opening quote. :P
