Finkle is Einhorn!

But seriously
In light of the new TURTLES film to be released next year, WE ARE IN FACT EXPLORING THE POSSIBILITY OF AN IMPROVED TRANSFER AND BONUS MATERIALS.
I'm definately down for that! The only thing that makes we wonder is the date of the post. This is really old news, shouldn't we have have heard something by now?

Exactly, heck WB and New Line are sister companies, I'm suprised it didn't happen a year ago. :(

I'm not. They whored out that ****** box set of all 3 movies instead. They also sold the movies for 5 each. At least at Best Buy and Wal-mart.

It's been done. What do you mean?

Anyway, I much prefer a Blu Ray release. We got TMNT already we might as well add the other movies on the list.

That could work, they could even do a 2 disk special edition regular DVD then, like they did with I am Legend and are doing with Walk Hard.

EDIT: A petition, it's bee done.

I'm curious. What exactly could they put on a TMNT special edition DVD? They could attempt to bring a few people back for commentaries, but it's not like we'd get much in the way of special features beyond one or two deleted scenes (if those scenes are even still in existence). I would think that if they made any behind-the-scenes stuff or interviews when the movie was made that they would already be available.

I wouldnt hold your breath on getting any kind of special edition DVD. Even if they did try to go through with the idea what conidition is the material in any way?

If its in rough shape I can bet you they'll drop it right there, I dont see them trying to throw some money into cleaning up the footage.

Well not unless theres a huge Turtles fan in the upper offices with enough say, but I highly doubt well ever get anything close to what we are hoping for.

I'd buy it even if it were only a new single-sided DVD with cleaned up footage.

As far as everyone knows, there's at least the two movie-themed music videos, Spin That Wheel and Turtle Power. The rest would be new-to-the-public. Of course there's a music video for movie 2's song, Awesome (You Are My Hero) by Ya Kid K, that I'm more eager to see.
I'd buy it even if it were only a new single-sided DVD with cleaned up footage.
Same here. ^_^

I could see a blu ray coming along for the three movies in a couple years...think we just gotta give it time...look at where we are now with dvds...they are at the end of their run and soooo many movies have been re-released...I think the same could happen for tmnt on blu ray.

I don't even want a SE I just want a cleaner version and it already exists in the UK so it's already been cleaned up they just need to release it here. A remix of the audio would do well as well.

What is different about the cleaned UK version?

Yes, but what's the difference between I am Legend and the 1990's TMNT movies? I am Legend was pretty much made into a DVD while it went to theaters. These days they make a movie specifically for a DVD release. That's why they have a million special features on newer DVD's, even horrible flops like Norbit. I'm guessing New Line or Warners junked the unused footage for TMNT, and other things like that. I mean, UHF wouldn't have had any deleted scenes in the DVD if Weird Al didn't keep an old VHS of them.

wasn't there a behind the scenes documentary "behind the shells"? they could put that on it.

It came out Pre-SotO (Secret of the Ooze).

And, as soon as Roseangelo comes by, she'll insist that it's more about the second than the first. Just you wait and see. :P

(That's friendly teasing, Rose. I hope you know that.) :embarass:

Well it's cleaner, which is great, and the sound is better. Also the removed nunchuck scenes are back but that's only a treat for people who live in Europe because it was only removed from the movie over there.

Copy-protection that would render any attempted copies unwatchable... I learned what a pain it is to get around while trying to put my Video Yearbook to DVD. >_<

Yeah I had to try it a few time for film projects in college, it's really a pain when you go through all that trouble to set it up and it doesn't work anyway. It was kinda funny though cause they were basically teaching us to bootleg.

Someone must have gotten it though cause it's on there...

It really would be a treat so see a cleaned up version of the film. It does look pretty grainy...although I do wonder if that would steal away some of the charm...Imagine them trying to make it all bright and neon to appeal to kids......:|aw crap.
