Tomarrow is when they'll be announcing when it comes out. But first the cover (also can be seen on Murphy's blog):

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y72/Dierna/comic%20covers/TMNT29.jpg

Looky! It's Casey and Fugitoid (drinking beer! ) and some Utroms (one of which is smoking) and various other aliens.. and a cover price of $10. I bet those Utroms are drinking Cranberry Juice (which effects em like alcahol). Boy Im glad I can get that on wowio...

Well, it depends on how big the comic is. If it's $10 worth of pages, then I'll be super-happy. I'll be getting them on Wowio and in print either way, though.

Ah, and cool cover too. ;) I can't wait to read it.

Ya, I guess I might as well too...but it's really not the same. Reading a comic online is just lame compared to actually owning it. Hopefully they start dishing out some big $10 worth issues.

But you do own it if you download it from online. They even put your name on one of the front pages so if you send out copies all across the internet, they'll know whose account to ban. ;)

Yeah that's true. I feel that buying comics online messes up the tradition of actually going to the comic book shop and buying it yourself. I like mine paper-real :P But wow, 10 bucks for the upcoming issue. I'm willing to cough up some cash up for it, i haven't read a vol. 4 issue in a while and I hope its worth the buy.

Has it been said how many pages the issue is? $10 for a 30 page comic is definitely not something I'll do.

I have hope that it will be a good size. $10 worth..we'll have to see, but the a lot of ninja turtle comics hit even the 50 page mark.

Steve says that only 100 issues will be released for $10 and that they'll be autographed by Peter Laird. Otherwise you have no choice but to download it off Wowio. But they still will probably also put it on ninjaturtles.com for those not able to get Wowio.

As excited as I am that this is finally being released, I think I will only read it through Wowio.

And Casey ages very very well. I wonder what is the secret to his youthfulness. Somehow I do not think he is a health nut.

Wow, Casey has a nose! Either Lawson put more care into the cover, or Dooney was thoughtful enough to give Casey a face.

Either way, it looks nice and is pretty cool. I still think Mirage should switch to a print-on-demand model, by putting the heads-up on their website of how much X amount of books will cost to print, take X amount of orders for said books, and print 'em! Surely the order would be filled from the comic shops that carry the title and by us fans who order direct.

Anyway, long live the TMNT, and may I be 50 before the price jumps to $20 bucks a book.

Any bets on what the story will encompass?

I'm psyched. I've been re-reading the entire Vol. 4 on Wowio. I'm fully wrapped up in the story. I'm dying for an on-going TMNT series. Individual stand alone tales just don't cut it for me.

V4.29 is up for order on the turtles homepage for those who are interested. Note: You don't need a Paypal account to order it. The site uses Paypal, but you can pay via credit/debit without creating a Paypal account.

It seems the issue is only 40 pages afterall, but if I understood the site correctly, it looks like Pete is actually drawing a huge turtle head on the inside cover of each of the first 100 issues and signing it. In other words, it's not just a drawing that they copied 99 times and Pete just signed them all.

So if you really want one, you'd better sign up quick because I'm sure the first 100 issues will disappear fast.

Aye. There's a pic on ninjaturtles.com of Pete signing one of the books. Foreigners can order it as well. It's been uploaded on Wowio, which means it'll be available for download by Wednesday (Wowio uploads new stuff Wed - Sat)!!! They'll also be posting the issue on ninjaturtles.com next week!!! :o

Well I called Katie as soon as I caught the update, a little past noon Central time and told her to send one my way! She said Pete was in the back room signing the initial 100 and drawing the heads.

FWIW, she said there will only be 1000 printed.

I mentioned to her Mirage going to a print-on-demand model, and she said that they were thinking about going that route. So based on that, perhaps in a few months the price may drop back down a bit if they take X amount of orders at a stated price and print X amount.

On a side note, and small rant, what's the freakin' deal with people not picking up the phone and calling Mirage to order their books?! It takes about 2 minutes if you don't want to chat with Katie, and takes a couple days for your books to arrive depending on where you live. It takes four days to come from MA to AL with standard mail, always arrives in good condition. I'd much rather do that than drive across town, ask the dude to place an order, wait for it to arrive, then drive back across town to pick it up. All I do is flip open my phone, tell her to charge my card, and 'bam!' four days later I get a book!

Okay, that's all. Whee for TMNT! :D

tOkKa... Your use of dashes, dots, and arrows will never stop confusing me -- but that's part of your charm. ;) Nice pic, btw.

w00t! I just finished reading the comic and the letters column! Spoilers ahead! Read at your own risk!

I think this was a great way to kick off the continuation of the comic. It seems Oroku Yoshi is a parallel version of either Saki or Yoshi. I really hope Leo runs into an alternate version of one or more of the turtles. I just think that would be cool. I'm dying to find out why the Aztec's hate every Shredder they meet.

Mike's story is progressing slowly but surely. Hopefully we'll find out what happened to the Regenta soon.

I have a feeling Karai is going to use Casey for some evil magical experiment... Does anyone know what debt she was referring to? I don't think it's anything from Volume 4. Is it from City at War, perhaps?

I loved the toning in this issue! It's improved so much over some of the early/middle issues in the series.

It should be interesting to see how folks on these boards react to the last page of the letters column... I think I'm gonna have to side with Peter on this one. ;)

I'm downloading it now. If I still can, I'll grab a copy next week if I don't spend too much on the other TMNT comics I'm looking to get.

EDIT: My response to the book itself is in the spoiler tags below.

It was alright. I found the speech the Xihad guy gave kinda funny. I liked how a lot of stuff was explained in the Leo scene. I liked that I got to see the conclusion to Mikey's sparring session. My only problems:

1) The bar scene went on for too long.

2) The Mikey fight was too short and didn't really depict the action all that well. I mean, well enough, but not REALLY well like some of the battles in Tales. I did enjoy the particular strategy he used, though. Reminded me of Spider-Man.

Hopefully we'll see some Don and Raph next time.

Damn I enjoyed that quite a hell of allot, and now the plots thicken even more!
It's cool that Peter is finally touching on a few issues in the letters section like why he's re-toning the old comics and such but I've gotta disagree with him they looked fine the way they had been from the start.
But oh well it's his comic and he's going to do what he wants regardless of what any of us think.
The only real major gripe I have about anything being replaced is that he should be the one drawing new panels for old stories not Jim Lawson.
It just look awkward and out of place with the art of Kevin & Peter.

As always I love the cover art, I wish Mr. Dooney would buck it up and just do one issue of tales or do a mini series where the TMNT meet Gizmo & Fluff.

Jim's art is much much much better in this issue, there's still a few parts where I go ugh that looks as if it was just drawn so quickly without care but I believe Peter helped allot on this issue I sort of see his style especially in some close up shots.

It's nice that the tree looking Utrom has a name now as well as the character being brought back and not being just a one time thing.

I also like the full page bar scene it takes me back to the early Mirage issues, I'd really like to see more of those in future issues.

I also really thought the idea of the Virtual Drinks for robots was an awesomely creative idea!

I'm with Casey, she may not do much in the comics anymore but I miss April allot to.
It's also sort of odd in the bathroom with him when we see all those other forms of toilets, it makes one wonder what kinds of bits aliens have lol

I really love Fugitoids second form when he transforms I hope we end up seeing that in the cartoon at some point.

These Xihad guys are nuts and I see something huge happening soon with them and that Alien guy who had the Guardifriend robots.

Poor Casey almost a hero again, but never the winner.
Good thing he wasn't in the direction of the ray that shrunk that Xihad member, Then Don and Casey could have gone on a solo adventure together lol.
Karai's line in this to Casey is interesting about paying him back, I can't recall him ever doing anything for her, it must be in a yet untold tale.
I wasn't sure if it was her when we first see her, this is one of those ugh points in Jim's art for me when I can't tell who a person is.

Did that security guy that took the remains of the Xihad member seem shadey to anyone else??? I don't think he was security at all but another Xihad member, they will probably take that guys remains and clone him or something.

The Battle Nexus is turning out to be quite interesting I really like this Oroku Yoshi guy, for some reason I see Leonardo asking him to come back to our world with him to help stop those "Warriors of Perfect Virtue" and the foot.
It would be quite interesting for Karai to see him as well as other foot members. I really wonder what direction that would go in.
I'm also quite sure Leonardo will be teaming up with him in the Battle Nexus to fight those "Warriors of Perfect Virtue".

And why do I not trust these Triceratons at all, I think Michaelangelo is way to trust of them since they saved his shell.
Seeing their new home world makes me think back to Vol.2 and the invasion, I think something is up and they're going to use Mikey to train them and then he's going to feel like an idiot when it comes back to bite him in the face.

I also loved the Full page art at the very end! It was totally awesome Great job on that one Jim and if Erik inked it man I hope your hands got allot of rest after that lol.

I don't know what to say about Peter's getting mad at who I believe is none other than our own Roseangelo or Spitfire.
I mean sure he has a right to be angry for people saying things but saying she had a way of contacting him when Vol. 4 has been away for so long and he hasn't made a peep since before the movie came out is something that's annoyed me also.
I don't think it helped matters any that the guy running the turtles went into hidding, and left the fans to guess things.
Sure we could have e-mailed Dan but he doesn't have the answers to everything.
But at least he's set the record straight, I'm just a bit suprised he let it fester for this long without saying anthing, Peter that's not good for your health trust me I know, you're going to get a stomach ulcer. ;)

Anyway I loved it if nothing else I'm happy as Hell Vol. 4 is back and what seems to be even better than before.

Finally!

- Loved the Battle Nexus. Glad the Gyoji intervened when the Aztecs were threatening Leo. The parallels seem similar to Second Earth in the cartoon.
- Would like to see Raph and Donnie. As well as April.
- Bar scene took too long. I was wondering "where are the Turtles?". Xihad guy is a cross between the Islamic suicide bombers and the Neo-Nazi supremacists.
- Karai has aged way too well. I wonder what she uses.
- Mikey's subplot needs to speed up.
When is the next one coming up?

I was just more shocked that he was in the issue at all, I still don't know how I feel about the Battle Nexus being in the Mirage comics.
It's not a bad thing and it's a bit differnt, just I don't care for the idea of things being done in the toon first then in the Mirage comic if that makes sense.

Alright!!! Lets get into this book here!

Anybody notice that as they were talking in the bar right near Casey was E.T looking around somehwat confused?? Or at least an alien that looks alot like E.T?

Nice that they have Virtual beer at that bar for Robots. "TMNT: Braught to you by Samuel Adams!!" Even Casey agrees that it's a fine brew!

Aaand Casey mentions the Lil Orphan Aliens from Michelangelo's Christmas Special!

Looks like that alien playing pool isn't doing it right cuz he's being yelled at (love background characters *lol*)

Ya know... I think Glymnal is the first Utrom I've ever seen with horns...

Ooh.. a secret project....wonder what it is???

Thank you Fugitoid for explaining WTF Virtual Beer is. VirBeer the fav of robots, androids, and cyborgs thruought the galaxies! Apperantly

Lalalalala...Casey Jones...in the bathroom...going pee....did we need that?? I haven't seen a bathroom in a TMNT book since Donatello was abducted by aliens in one in the TMNT Adventures series. Don't think Don ever got the chance to pee.

Oh great...a Xihad dude in a bar full of humans, aliens, and super heroes.

Hey look! It's Yoda and he's all furry! "Insane this one is...."

And apperantly the Xihad don't like Mexicans....

Ewww... blowed up human....

Wait... Karai's being nice??? And is that guy her date???

Meanwhile in the Battle Nexus... Oh so he's an AU Shredder....

Oh no!! It's Twelve Ocelot and Seven Monkey Paw! Um....alrighty then....

Meanwhile in outer space....

Oh yay.. now we're learning Triceraton words! Zok = 1 Hour.

The NEW Homeworlds???

*reads the letters* Whoa!! We'll actually see April and Casey's wedding on the tv show?!

An interesting issue. At least we know more about the Battle Nexus and even learned a Triceraton word in the process! *lol* Can't wait for next issue (which will hopefully have Raph and Don in it) :D

Pute: I actually am missing a couple of issues from Leo's sojourn in the Battle Nexus (which admittedly, when I first heard about it being in the comics, kind of concerned me), so I didn't know if he existed in the comics a few issues prior. But you know, for all we know, Battle Nexus was an idea Laird had already set for incorporating into the comics before it became a plot point for the cartoon....

Leo will meet his Alternate Universe counterpart, and it will be.... 2008 cartoon Leo! It will be a crossover with an episode later this season.

Or so my sleep-deprived brain is telling me. This may or may not be true... <.<

I didn't think about that until you just said it but I'm sure it's more than true, at least them being from an alternate dimension.

Aye.. the Warriors of "Perfect Virtue" are from a scary AU where Al Gore became president. Oddly enough the current storyline in Amazing Spider-Man also involves Aztec warriors.....

Altho the warriors being dups from different AU's tho would make sense considering the names of the ones encountered were Twelve Ocelot and Seven Monkey Paw. One of them was Ocelot from Earth 12 and the other was Monkey Paw from Earth 7 while Mirage is Earth 3 (in the Battle Nexus eps it was mentioned that the turtles were from 3rd Earth and they even faught somebody from Earth 2).

You know, it makes sense that the Battle Nexus is more or less the same as the cartoon one, with Gyogi (sic), the Daimyo, and all. As a nexus of all realities (of course, hence the name), this is where all universes meet. So this is the Battle Nexus from the cartoon, albeit having wonky Lawson art and no colour.

Great cover. What happened to the new "TMNT" logo that #28 introduced, though? I rather liked it, it was sleek.

Anyone who wasnt enjoying Vol.4 Enjoy this issue?

I hadn't been into volume 4 until I downloaded a bunch of issues off Wowio and read them back to back. I think it flows much better as a whole than in individual installments. When I go to buy a comic book, I expect some short term action and get frustrated if I don't get at least a little sense of closure. But as a whole, Volume 4 reads short of like a graphic novel, a long one! This issue is continuing that story for me, so I like it, though now I'll have to wait a while for the next installment.:-?

Yes and no I was enjoying Lairds story but not Lawsons art it looked so rushed allot of the time before.
And this issue doesn't seem so bad, and it looks like he or whomever put more care into it and it didn't look like quick drawings just to do it for the sake of doing it.
But yeah I enjoyed this issue more than others because it's moving things along.

There's a way to DL 6 books off Wowio per day...that is if you live on the west coast. Wowio is on mountain time and they don't take into account other time zones. So Im able to DL 3 books in the morning and 3 books at night after 10pm (when it's midnight where Wowio is at).

I just re-read the original announcement about digital distribution from September 11th at ninjaturtles.com (also on Murphy's blog), and there is no mention of how long Laird plans to continue it, time-wise or issue-wise.

I then read the January announcement concerning Wowio specifically, and nothing there either.

The only place I've read about Peter wrapping up the volume is on here, from fans who wanted him to.

About the logo, I didn't think the one on the last issue of vol 4 was all that great, but the current one is truly awful and says nothing about the characters.
I really liked the TMNT logo from the ring of green community, something like that would be cool, sharp like a blade.

While we're talking about the logo, I've never really liked the standard Vol. 4 logo at all. It's got "TMNT" in fairly bland arrangement, but then what's worse is that it literally spells out "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" beneath the "TMNT"... begging the question, why even bother putting "TMNT" there at all?

I'd much prefer the dynamic Vol. 4 #28 "TMNT" logo with no "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" beneath it. The look of it suits the future/aliens/sci-fi angle of the entire volume and without the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" under it the "TMNT" can be left to our imagination to fill in with "Thirtysomething Mutant Ninja Turtles" or what-have-you. Otherwise... it's like Superboy calling himself Superboy... even when he's 30 or 40. It's silly.

I did the same thing. I was away all weekend and Sunday night I decided to check the forums to see if anything good happened all weekend. Of course, I missed the debut of #29. Almost 2 years of checking all the time, and I missed out on the initial 100. I was very disappointed, but now it seems as if we will be fine.

I'm not sure, but I may have also checked a box somewhere during the order process to request a tracking number like that. Leo's story just keeps getting more awesome by the issue!!!

I was lovin' how Mike was kicking those dinos butts!! They were even asking him for pointers. It's not too often that Mike is portrayed as a great ninja like Leo or Raph. He is more than just a video game playing slacker(no insult to anyone cause I'm one myself.)

Actually that was her great-granddaughter. I was thinking the same thing as I fell asleep last night. Cuz anytime within the next 5 or 6 years would be the time for Karai to have a kid so that in 60 years she'll have a great-grandkid. We all know Casey wants a biological kid. Mine was done just four minutes before Put's!

The newest issue of Volume 4 was pretty damn good IMO, just wish it had been a few pages longer to give us an update on Don and Raph's sitch. I really hope it doesn't wrap up in 11 more issues because the story gets better as it progresses. Even Jim's art was looking better, more detailed.

On a side note, I too am glad to see Mikey finally getting some spotlight action for being a good fighter. He was the BN champ in the NT, so why not let him display his skills in the comic. Any Mikey fan can tell ya, when he focuses on something he becomes really great at it! He just prefers to be more laid-back and have fun.

Whoa, ToK, dude, that's totally Raph in your's man! And Put, I'm seeing Donny all the way!

I'm a little jealous of ToK, getting one dated 11 minutes before mine! :P
Hey, do a showdown pic with a NECA Leo fig and a Shredder with some wild lightning in the background... your art is kickin'!

Wow, I received my issue today, and also with a headsketch. Mine is dated 4/10/ 08 11:58 am.

Awesome!!

Yours is exactly 4 minutes AFTER mine. I got a head sketch too... I was SOOO hoping for that Leo though. I hope he continues to do this. I'll be ordering them online as long as he keeps printing them.

Soooo relieved that I got a signed copy in the mail today. I ordered Sunday, so I thought I had missed out until Murph let us know there were 225 in all. Incredibly, mine is dated 4/15, after 1:00 am, so I'm willing to bet that I got one of the very last. If anyone has a later date, I'd like to hear about it.

I'll post a pic later tonight or tomorrow, right now the camera battery needs charging. What a sketch though! I've got a big full-body Donatello sketch that Peter did way back in 88 or 89, so this modern day sketch is a nice comparison of how his style has evolved; the old one still shows his tail!

It is a thick envelope, but it would be nice if they had given it some padding, or at least put it inside a polybag, they just drop it in there. My mailman crammed mine into my mailbox, but it just barely fit (at an angle) so he didn't do any serious damage. Although the issue looks decent, I think it would be lucky to grade a true NM. I'll be curious to see if any of these get CGC graded and score above a 9.4

Okay, I read it last night. I enjoyed it quite a bit, it's a little disappointing that after two years, we still didn't get anything new with Raph, Mike or Don, but what was here was really good. Drunk Casey was pretty amusing and I'm intrigued by Karai's treatment of him. I hope the book gets on a good bimonthly schedule now because this issue mostly just made me want more.

So, I just found out about this. Been busy the last couple of weeks, figures. Anyway, live in Canada so it was $15 but I think its important to support comics in the paperback form they should be in. Plus, I own all the other Turtle comics, so ... must own. Completist inside me calls. Too bad I missed out on the Peter's signature though. They look awesome. Maybe I will catch it on the next one. Any idea how long it will take to ship to Canada?

Also, was order #429 - So looks like they are almost half way to selling out. Thought the order number was cool #429 = Vol. 4 Issue 29 - - - 429. I know I am a geek.

The bar scene was indeed funny, until that Xihad nut showed up anyway, and what's with Karai?

So with nearly 500 issues already sold at $10 a pieace and all income going directly to Mirage without any middle men, you have to believe they will make a good profit with this issue at least. Will other comic companies consider doing business like this?

Heh, yeah, sinister. ;)8) Karai never has been evil has she? From what I've gathered from reading over the years, she never wanted to fight the Turtles. Their fight was with Oroku Saki, and after his death all was laid to rest. Unfortunately some of Saki's loyalists wanted to avenge him, which led to skirmishes between Karai and the Turtles.

Anyway, I sense no ill will with what she is going to do with/to Casey. He's obviously drunk and took a pretty hard tumble, so why not crash someplace close by with someone you know instead of stumbling around New York trying to get home. He could get hit by a taxi!

Well, how many issues was Mirage selling through Diamond a month?

That comparison must be made for a fair idea of "good profit".

BUT, no one can put a price on the peace of mind it seems Mr. Laird has achieved through eliminateing future advertisements (4 months in advance) and print due dates required by Diamond distributing.

I think we , the readers, ultimately win in the current situation -- the comics will not be rushed; time and effort can be put into them.

Why wouldn't the letters be a little dated? He probably hasn't been getting a flood of on-topic letters since shortly after the initial announcement about digital distribution.

What other possible reason could there for not wanting to deal with Diamond than not wanting to deal with Diamond?! He didn't mention only deadlines, but other things, such as the long wait between getting the book finished and getting fan-feedback on it, which I completely understand.

A lot of times I agree with you on these things or at least see where you're coming from, but you're going out of your way to be anti-Laird on this one.

Good find, I predict this will sell at about $30. Anyone else want to put in a friendly bet?

BTW, as far as eBay sellers go, I really have no gripes. I have seen a lot of the NYCC NECA turtle sets up on eBay going for high pices, but these items aren't available to the mass public. So in a way, they are doing a service to those that may have missed out. Yes a premium is paid, but all in all, it gives some people a chance to gain what they missed out on. If those people are willing to pay a higher price for it, its none of our business to critisize.

*sigh* Despite what you may think, I'm not anti-Laird.

I was just pointing out that forgoing Diamond didn't exactly speed up the overall process very much. According to Murphy the art for this issue (and #30) was complete by around New Years. Ok, the letters are understandably dated, but the responses are just as dated... how long have Clinton and Obama been the only Democratic nominees? None of that points to there really being a decreased amount of time between the completion date and the distribution date, which, as you pointed out, was half the point of doing it this way.

That said, I'm sure the next issue will be extremely current and will, this time without a doubt, have a rant with my name on it. Alas...

Yeah, but you said it all suspicious like there's some super secret alterior motive, you know? Like what? And I know you don't hate him, you're just hard on him because you care, right? (that's sincere, by the way)

Anyway...

Laird claims that once an issue is finished, it will go up within the week. I believe him. The wait on issue 29, however, is obviously because they've been putting up volume 4 on Wowio and they want to give enough time for people to read them that have never read them (potential new readers), so both old and new readers are waiting for 29 when it hits (potential new buyers). Likewise, we'll probably have to wait at least a month before 30 (I hope so anyway, I know I couldn't afford buying a 10 dollar hard copy more often than that, with all my other expenses). So we can't make claims on speed just yet, in my opinion.

Admittedly though, I'm actually a little worried that it might instead slow things down. If he doesn't have to scramble to finish for Diamond and can just write on it when he wants, whose to say that it doesn't become tri-monthly or quarterly or something? And Peter hasn't really given a time-frame on these because of that reason, so he can do it as fast or as slow as he wants.

Whatever the overall speed, I think it'll definitely be haphazzard (like 2 issues back-to-back, then 6 months, then 2 months, then the next 5 issues monthly, than a three month wait, etc), but I hope I'm wrong.

soccerstud652

Lifelock, Vonage, Celsias...maybe more?

They pay WOWIO to advertise on the comics. WOWIO pays royalties to Mirage for every issue that is downloaded. Because so many people download the books, the above companies pay alot of money for advertising. In response, the probably see their profits or revenues go up. It is a win win win.

Well, that was a completely different post. I'll just say that I'd be more willing to accept that Peter's motives had absolutely nothing to do with Kevin if the two of them were actually on speaking terms. And as I said before, I do 100% believe that Peter also thinks that the new version is superior to the old, as he pretty much said in #29.

I agree that the process is likely to get much smoother/faster for future releases.

As you can see, there isn't any date or time (does that make me special? :P), but I remember him doing the sketch after the NECA signing from 1:00-3:00 pm. Its somewhere b/e 3:00 to 4:30 pm to my understanding and was done on April 19.

Maybe lack of time stamp is how he's differentiating from the one's sold on the website. Not that it would really make much difference, since the time stamp would tell you if it was or not.

I'll be adding yours within a few minutes!

I was referring to a digital camera, a cheap, and quite common item, in today's US household. I understand that webcams are usually crappy quality (unless you have a Macbook). I meant to include in my post, "If you have a digital camera..."

As you can see from above posts, most pics of Laird sketches have been taken with digital cameras and came out great.

I am not trying to flame here -- but was just giving a helpful suggestion.

I personally don't really care when or if you even post the autograph. I was just giving an idea that was perhaps overlooked. But in general, good luck with the scan and I am looking forward to seeing Rose's updated flickr.

But lets not flame or troll here.

So onto some Vol 29 discussion:

Any thought on Mike's Triceraton alliance? I have a feeling that mike is going to recover his girl and his egg, and that the Triceratons may even help.

Yeah, sorry 'bout that. Your initial comment seemed a bit snide to me. No biggie. Anyway, my parents have a digital camera, and I live on my own, so going to their place would be the only solution that way. Scanning would actually be heaps easier, but I just don't feel like doing it >.<

Yes, now that I re-read, it may have sounded a bit snide, which was not my intention at all.

I just figured the process of snapping a pic of the comic and uploading would be easier than physically scanning the book into your PC - a process which is a real time killer.

Either way, i am looking forward to the scan now. I think the gallery has been filling up nicely.

The Triceratons will do anything to help the TMNT. They're us only reptiles. I wanna see Mike's reaction to the TMNT tv series the Triceratons have.

As for Seri. Who's to say if those eggs really are Mikey's?? There was more than one. There was 4. Mikey even had a nightmare as to what they'd look like (the only time Mikey's dreamt about Splinter too)>

Great cover. What happened to the new "TMNT" logo that #28 introduced, though? I rather liked it, it was sleek.

I guess now we know what happened to the new logo:

Issue 27. He has a nightmare in which they hatch into this one weird creature with 3 heads. One of the heads looks like Splinter while the others are a turtle (with a mask! ), and a Triceraton. The creature tries to eat Mikey.

I haven't posted in a long time here but I have been reading here though.
I got my copy last week with sketch on Monday. I ordered it on April 16th. The sketch is dated on the 15th. But mine got a crushed corner on the left upper spine. But I also ordered the old TMNT Collected books 2 & 5. Which also got some of this damage. The one corner of the strong envelope somehow got torn hence I think where the damages were coming from. Wish this didn't happen but oh well.

Onto my thoughts on TMNT (v.4) #29:
It was different. Casey, 2 utroms and Fugitoid all at a bar. I mean thats just different. The Xihad and their agenda, which to me is really one of the good subplots on the series so far. With this age of terrorism looming over us, Peter Laird shows this can be the case in the future and with the aspect of aliens from other worlds visiting us. How would we feel about this? With racism, prejudice etc in the world, I think its a totally good thing in this book to be presented with. Something thats totally plausible.
The Leo in the Battle Nexus is still odd to me. To think Splinter was going in this realm is rather odd to me (but spiritually, yes I'd believe Splinter would visit here). It seems to be a opposite realm as the issue implies. We may find out more about that warrior though soon I should think, cause we got a bit in this issue. What upset me was that Raph and Don weren't in it. I wonder where the Mike and the Triceratons stuff is going in the end?

It was great to see this series back. And I hope that I can always order from Mirage in time to get a head sketch. I'm posting mine here. Roseangelo you may add this to the sketch gallery (although I'm thinkin I may do another pic or scan it one day, its so gray with a shadow looming).

Yeh ... mine got screwed up too. They folded mine in half, which sent a crease right down the middle of the book which sucked. All mirage had to do was to put a label on it not to bend and/or fragile and all would have been ok. Too bad.

That's bizarre... mine was in a really uber envelope that is really tough to bend. And besides, putting said label doesn't guarantee it will be safe. When my Furrlough issue came in, it had the label and was bent down the middle horizontally.. thankfully, the comic was all right.

It was announced on the site as being a first come, first served thing Dragon Davy. Murphy's blog was following Peter's signing and sketching along with the cut off times and orders and such. It was one of those things where the really dedicated fans were rewarded for being so - following the production of the comic, along with it's release in every possible way (blogs, emails, etc.).
Peter will be doing a few cons here and there though, so you might be able to get something unique in there at a show!

Kinda PO'ed...

I ordered this issue a few weeks (maybe a month) ago, and the cover page was folded over itself (leaving a huge crease diagonally across the cover)... since the rest of the issue is fine, this meant someone just crammed the issue in the envelope.

But I'm forgiving... I know to err is human. So I ponied up and bought a second copy, figuring the first one would be my reading copy. It arrived today... wet. The first ten pages are crinkly and warped from the weather.

Now I feel jipped, not by Mirage, but by bad luck. 20 bucks, and neither copy is worth tossing in a bag and putting in my collection. And I WILL not buy another copy...

So I guess I'm just outta luck.:(

Ditto. Especially for a $10 comic. I think its a no brainer that we are all collectors here and want the comic arriving in as mint a condition as possible. Another cheaper option is to simple place a cardboard piece in the envelope to prevent the postal people from folding it.

Yeah I got mine just recently. Didn't think I would be able to get it but they still had it. I was happy. Anyway my problem with getting things from Mirage isn't them but my post office. My appartments have tiny little cubbies for our mail. Instead of seeing that it is a big envelop that probably shouldn't be bent they fold it up and shove it in. Luckly nothing has been too damaged. As I am more worried about having it then the condition. I don't ever plan on selling it.
