What would be in your ideal tmnt movie?

I always felt the show should have a direct to dvd movie so I wanted to know what everyone’s ideal tmnt movie would be like. Heres just a few points you should try to cover:

1. Timeline. (After 2k3, during FF, before Back to the Sewers, or stand alone, etc)

2. Animation. (Would it be FF’s, the animation for the upcoming season, or something similar to or slightly above 2k3‘s)

3. Length. (A short one hour movie, an average one hour and a half, or maybe even three hours)

4. Characters. (Leatherhead, the Justice Force, Falcon, Touch and Go, etc)

5. Type. (Would it be mostly story based, light on comedy, or nonstop action, etc)

6. Plot. (A story that focuses on the Rat King unleashing an army of rats on the citizens of NY, Utroms Shredder’s life before coming to Earth, or maybes the Ancient One’s trials as an acolyte, etc)

7. Music. (The usual 4kids or maybe a couple of hits from a major artist or band)

8. Rating. (TVY7, PG, PG-13, or R)

Remember this is your movie so feel free to get as crazy as you want with your ideas.

Right now I have this TMNT story floating around in my head waiting to be put down on paper. It could really take place at any point in the timeline, but it might fit better pre-Lost Season. Basically, the only existing characters would be the TMNT. It starts with them battling a giant robot in Central Park, and defeating it, only to find out that it is powered by coal, in addition to looking like something 'from Jules Verne' -Donnie's observation. Further investigation leads them to a dimensional hole. On the other side is a parallel Earth in the early 1900s. They learn to their horror that the entire human race has been enslaved by steampunk-style robots. The last human resistance, called The Children of the Gears, begs them for help to defeat the robots. And Don gets to help a young scientist named Nicola Tesla perfect a weapon that can turn the tide against the machines.

It wouldn't really have a huge effect on any existing storylines, but I think it would be cool just to have as a stand alone, side adventure. It would be somewhat serious, but still have plenty of humor and action as well.

Rating would be PG. Animation would be 2K3 level, with CGI for the machines. It would be around 90 minutes.

Invented, and used for cheap labor after the Civil War ended slavery. Then, they revolted and enslaved the people. So the originals revolted, and now use the humans to work in factories building new machines and repairing old ones.

Right now I'm trying to decide who/what their leader should be. Human? Robot? Utrom? existing character? It's still in the planning stages, but I have been thinking alot about it.

I'm thinking that Donnie and Tesla will come up with some sort of 'death ray' similar to what the REAL Tesla was working on before his death.

I could see a possible reason being because an R rating is just way too unrealistic...sadly.

1. Timeline. I'd be fine with 2k3/2007, as they're about the same thing. Or just straight Mirage. The tone I'd prefer could be achieved with any of these.

2. Animation. Based on the examples you gave, I think you mean "style." In which case... maybe the illegitimate child of 2k3/2007/Mirage might be cool. As for actual "animation," I'd say 2D all the way, with as high fps as possible and good color schemes and lighting, like 2k3 (or even better, if I'm permitted to hope).

3. Length. However long it takes to tell the story well. 90-100 minutes would be good to shoot for.

4. Characters. Turtles, Splinter, April, and Casey (duh) but in addition I'd really love to see Leatherhead. As for villains, I'll take the standard Foot and Purple Dragons, with or without Shredder. Hun I would welcome because he's proven himself to be a legit villain in his own right.

5. Type. Well, hopefully any would be story-based, comedy or otherwise. I'd say have a good solid story that's not convoluted and leaves plenty of room for all four Turtles to shine. The tone I'd prefer is darker, action with some comedy, but that avoids comedy for its own sake. One of the problems I had with the 2007 movie is it tried to force too much humor instead of letting it flow naturally.

6. Plot. Keep the Turtles on the streets of New York, and leave out as much supernatural stuff as possible. *pauses to listen to Peter Laird spinning in his... chair?* I'd love anything that challenges Mike as a character and lets him break out of his "comic relief only" role. Perhaps he gets captured and the other Turtles are simply not able to save him from the outside; it's all up to him if he wants to get out alive. Raph would probably go nuts at being unable to protect his little brother (and so would Leo, but of course they'd butt heads a little because of differing plans of what to do about it), and somewhere in the movie Don would pull off some brilliant strategy. It's not really a "plot" so much as things I would like to happen within that plot. I think it is possible to give all four TMNT a shining moment in one movie, but Mike and Don especially need them.

7. Music. As orchestral as possible for a DTV, though of course I'd prefer theatrical all the way. I'm still a huge fan of the "separate themes for each Turtle that combine awesomely when they fight together" idea that someone had forever ago. And I'd like as little modern music as possible, mostly because I don't like much of it. If you have to put popular music in it, go for the '80s stuff!

8. Rating. PG-13, so we can have some blood and maybe some light swears. I don't want buckets of gore or really coarse language, but it should be able to elevate itself at least a little above kiddieland.

Its not that its just that somebody might get carried away and say they want NR adult movie.

The rating can be whatever one chooses just keep it clean.

If I could rewrite time, I'd make a "City at War" movie... I don't really even have to get into that.

But now, A Ratking movie would be tight, but that can be done in an episode or two.

What we need is a balls to the walls movie with Bishop where his operation is to be shut down in a short time and he decides to go all out on the TMNT before he's done and create Slash. It wouldn't be too heavy on the story but it could be great if done right.
