I was wondering if anyone here has ever actually seen this. I've seen the opening theme (Hirenobu Kageyama for the win!:D), and it looked...well, in honesty, a little hokey, but I'd love to see it (never gonna happen probably) just to say I had.
So, has anyone here seen it, and if so, what're your thoughts on it?

I'm sure someone will come along and give you better info then me, but I watched the first part. It was ok...I mean...I dont know, i guess it just depends on if its your type of entertainment, but it was nice looking. I heard part 2 was better. Any truth to that?

I saw the first episode a long time ago. It didn't leave too much of an impression I guess, except that they combined the Ninja Turtles with a kind of "stereotypical" anime story involving mystical armor or something, kind of like how they took Spider-Man and threw in a giant robot.

I got that feeling from just the opening theme as well. The thing that I noticed was that the art, when the Turtles were normal anyway, was very much like the old Cartoon, with the exception of Shredder.
You guys keep mentioning part 1 and 2 - is that all that was made? Were there copyright issues, or did it just not do very well at all?

I believe the 2 parts were a continuation of the manga series of comics, because the very first episode had a recap. I think only the two episodes were animated.

Is this the "suupah muuuuutation!" anime?
I dunno, I kinda just watched it for laughs. It's silly and made me think of Digimon/Power Rangers/Sailor Moon for whatever reason. Fun to watch Splinter speaking in his native tongue though. And Bebop and Rocksteady were even more hilarious as I recall. :P

Yes, they were cool!
You can find both episodes on Youtube. Subbed.
The art and animation are pretty good, sometimes even better than the american. I still don't know why Shredder was so different.
Are there any more episodes? I remeber seeing Zack in a promo...
Or was it like with Wyrm that only appeared in the promo of the toy line?
There was a decidedly unofficial DVD that came out and was being plastered all over ebay many years ago. It was just two OVA episodes with some crappy Engrish subtitles. There were also commercials for the anime eps and the manga series. The eps were credited to Fred Wolf Studios though. Both eps were goofy 'mystic' plots, but I liked the second best. The first ep was the Sentai/Power Rangers/UltraMan type, but the second was more like Visionaries.

I've seen both episodes of the OVA, and it was alot of fun to watch. Just keep in mind that this is meant to be a comedy full of parodies and references like the original cartoon was, not a serious attempt at making the TMNT more like a "generic anime" series.

I did the sound effects and am doing the intro. I started the dub over 5 years ago abandoned it and Mindychan found what I started and contacted me a few years later. I decided to help but she took charge.
I've only seen a preview. I think it'll turn out enjoyable.

That's a new way to think of it, actually. It really does seem to be a parody of the conventions and stereotypes of anime. Look at the second episode- the armor is lifted almost directly from Saint Seyia.
