Lets look at each one's end battle...
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:
Shredder completly kicks the Turtles butts, they can't even touch him,yet Splinter being weaker and older is able to throw him off the building just using a nunchuck, and besides that, who really wanted Splinter and Shredder to have the final battle? Come on! we wana see our Turtles be the heroes...especially back then when we were kids.
TMNT 2:Secret of the Ooze:
Super Shredder dies under a pile of wood.Yes I know every TMNT fan has heard this complaint.
TMNT 3: :| moving on...
TMNT (2007):The Turtles fight the monsters for a bit and eventually they are all put back in thier place and its over...it actually takes the Turtles longer to get into the building, the Turtles dont even fight the main villan.
Dont get me wrong,Iv enjoyed all the movies(not including 3) its just the endings have never been the epic battles youd expect. The big battles in the 2k3 cartoon have been alot better and more exciting. Why was it so hard for them to make an awesome end battle? All they had to do was have the turtles fight Shredder in a fight lasting at least 15 mintues with a bunch of cool ninja moves and stuff with the outcome, obviously, having the turtles win.

Ya, I can see you're complaint...especially with 2k7..the end sucked...except for that cool flip/somersault thing Leo did when fighting a monster haha, I doubt anyone can understand that bare description. Out of all of them, I'd say the first movie had the best ending. I would have liked a longer fight with the Shredder, but it was cool to see that the Shredder could kick their ass in my opinion...especially after the old toon making him look like such a bitch.

TMNT #1: All the turtles kick the crap out of the entire Foot Clan. Meet their arch nemesis in battle and their master finishes him off rightfully. He finishes him off by throwing Shredder off the roof into a garbage truck and crushing his head, supposedly. The turtles are reunited with their master, Shredder is defeated, Yoshi is avenged, and everyones happy. Works for me.
TMNT #2: The turtles kick the crap out of the Foot Clan, kill Tatsu, de-mutate Tokka and Rahzar, and then have a finial showdown with their nemesis who does himself in when he's roid'in out on the mutagen. Not the best ending but it's happy yet again and still satisfying.
TMNT #3: I forgot how this piece of crap ended I haven't seen it in years. I don't even own it on DVD...
TMNT #4: The Foot Clan gets stomped, the monsters are all sent back, the statues are defeated, Winters finally dies, and the family is reunited. That's a pretty decent ending.
I know the finial battles aren't the greatest but with what they had to work with I say they did decently. Honestly none of the turtles movies are amazing pieces of cinema.

I have to admit I have always felt the final battles to be a bit of a disappointment but I suppose I never took into consideration the fights leading up to the final confrontation.
A longer fight sequence with the shredder seems like it would have worked well but the movie still rocked hard.

Well, I'm not so sure what happened to him. I know that they smooshed him between all 4 of their shells, but he is shown still alive, stumbling away. I don't know if that would kill him. Taking a golf club shot to the head would kill most people, but Tatsu survived that in TMNT 1.
TMNT 3: moving on...
I lol'd.

Are kidding? The ending of the first flick was amazing. It was everything I hoped it would be. I definitely saw turtles fighting shredder with all these "cool ninja moves". In my book, fights on a New York City rooftop is what makes it a lot better for a cool ending. No offense, but you're the first person I've heard having a complaint about the original movie. I agree about the other three disappointing movies which really don't count for anything.

When I was a kid (I was about 6 when the movie came out, turned 7 later that year) and I saw Splinter throw Shredder off the roof, I thought it was really cool. It showed that the Turtles aren'tperfect and made the Shredder out to be the villain he was always meant to be but never was in the cartoon up to that point. It also showed exactly why a frail old rat was the Turtles' sensei.

I just think the final battles(in any of the movies) should focus on the main characters of the movie...the Ninja Turtles. In the cartoons the turtles were always the heroes, well the majority of the time but its ok to let someone else have the spotlight in a tv show cause its an on-going series so having a few episodes showcase someone else is ok and sometimes pretty cool.
In the movies its meant too be one big story all leading up to a big final battle, which the turtles always had little to do with it seems.I can understand how some would like seeing Shredder be the big mean scary guy he was meant too be...but,well I guess this is how the first movie should have ended...
Somewhere mid-way through the Turtles fight Shredder but all that happens is what took place on the rooftop, they can't touch him...sooo,they regroup figure out a strategy and fight Shredder one more time at the end(lasting at least 10-15 minutes) with the Turtles finally being able to beat him.
Ya know now that I write that I realise the Turtles were not so smart in that final battle. All they did was rush in one by one hopeing to get a hit in.The writers made them out to be nieve fighters that had little experiance, which we know is not the case especially with Leo,being the smart, tough leader he is and always follwing "The way of the Ninja" and everything Splinter has taught them.

I can definitely see why you'd want a longer bout involving the turtles skills. It makes perfect sense. But like I said in my above post, I liked that the Shredder was able to hand em their shells. It just showed how much of a threat he was, and made me fear him in the second movie.
Also, the turtles should be naive in their battle with the Shredder if you ask me...they had just pretty easily beaten a bunch of his foot soldiers and had high confidence...you know what that can do to a teenager...they got a little cocky.

Thats why I said the Turtles should have had 2 fights with Shredder...one where they lost,so we can see that he is a big threat...
I definitly understand teenagers getting cocky, but I just feel it was out of place for the turtles, not just because of Leo leading and Splinters teachings, but considering how big(popular) the TMNT were back when the first movie came out...for the writers to make our childhood heroes loose, seems a bit odd.

Well to cover the last three movies before I tackle the first movie fight. The second movie, kinda cheesy, I agree but still interesting to see a Super Shredder. He kind of showed a few sides of Shredder, how desperate he was to destroy the turtles (that he'd kill himself in the process), even how cocky because I think he thought he could survive it but still would attempt it anyways.
The third movie, wouldnt we all like to defeat our enemies by having them fall off a roof while they reach for their favorite pet?
The fourth, not too bad, kind of anticlimatic, but still decent. I would have prefered a longer more hardcore battle. I think the turtles DID fight the main villian, the statue generals.
Okay the first movie, the turtles were being a bit overconfident. Their main mistake was not attacking as a group from a distance as they did in Vol 1 #1. I like the fact that they lost and didn't kill the Shredder. Splinter had to avenge his master. Unlike the first comic, it seems like Splinter didn't want to turtles to avenge Yoshi, he wanted to, and he did. Shredder made the same mistake with Splinter that the turtles did. Shredder got overconfident and attacked head on. Therefore, Splinter owned him. The turtles were most likely exhausted as well because they just finished fighting that swarm of Foot soldiers. The only way to have the turtles win in the first movie would be to have them get defeated, retreat, and then come back, much like in RtNY and that would have made too long of a movie. My only complaint about the fight with the Shredder was that when the turtles were huddling and exhausted, figuring out how to attack him, Shredder just paced behind them, I expected him to start skipping after awhile. That part seemed unrealistic to me, of course, I say this about a movie with mutant turtles and rat and a dude with blades on his arms and legs.

It was only right for Splinter to be the one to defeat Shredder in the first movie as he was Starved, Beaten, and Shredder killed his master.
I didn't like how Shredder rushed at Splinter though. i always thought it was rather stupid. What should have happened was for Shredder to take a swing at Splinter and for Splinter to duck and then push Shredder off the roof.

By main villain, do you mean Max Winters? In actuality, he was hardly a viallain at all. Remember, he did what he did to save his friends from an eternity of unrest.
Plus, I thought it had a decent ending, though they really should've kept the original ending:
Where Casey Proposes to April, and they ride off together on Raph's Motorcycle, also implying he gave up his Nightwatcher days for good

Yeah I had said I wanted the turtles to have 2 fights, one where they loose, retreat and then another where they beat Shredder...it would have made the movie longer but I didnt mind...but your right, they should have attacked Shredder as a group, that would have been easier than having 2 diffrent fights.Yeah Shredder pacing while the turtles talked was un-realistic.
I guess what bothers me,and what I found surprising, was how the writers wrote it...it makes sense for Splinter to be the one that kills Shredder, its just at the time,I thought they would have had the Turtles be the big heroes and destory Shredder...since thier main demographic were (us) children who's heroes were the 4 turtles(and thats why we all wanted to see the movie afterall...to see Leo,Don,Mike and Raph.)
But looking at it now, with all these comments both endings would make sense...but I still would much rather had prefered the Turtles be the ones that kill Shredder.

What was wrong with the Shredder pacing guy's? I always got the impression that he was feeling a little cocky too after whoopin em all one at a time.. I guess it's just how you interpret it.

The ending for number 1 was perfect for me. As much as I would have liked to see the turtles take out Shedder themselves, I liked it better that the script called for Splinter to take him out instead.
It kind of bothered me a little, (not enough to stop reading :P) that Splinter originally in the comics would send his sons to enact justice for Yoshi and Shen when he could have at least led the way or watched (maybe he did).
That's my two centavos.

Hey Wildcat:
I guess you didn't enjoy episode II when yoda finally kicked some ass because he wasn't a "main character"
splinter defeating shredder is the most poetic ending to the movie. and it makes the most sense. The turtles couldn't touch shredder but splinter is like yoda to luke, mr. miagi to daniel son, etc. I don't understand how anyone can not be pleased with the first movie....

That may be due to the fact that in the first movie they WERE naive fighters with little experience. They had fought a whole three real battles over the course of their entire lives (Raph fought four times, but whatever) before fighting the Shredder.
Plus, you have to look at the trends in their fighting.
1) Foot Thugs -- Element of surprise and total darkness. Score one for Ninjutsu.
2) Foot -- They were ambushed and overwhelmed. Plus, they were down one Turtle since Raph was ambushed on his own first.
3) Foot -- They let the Foot find them and severely reduced their numbers by using the element of surprise and reducing visibility with the steam. Then they proceeded to pick off the remaining ones that were on the run... who were running to lead them up to the Shredder so he could kill the Turtles himself.
Every time the Turtles or the Foot won a battle, it came down to preparation and/or experience. The Turtles often made up for their lack of experience with preparation. During the Shredder battle, the Shredder had more experience and was expecting to fight the Turtles while the Turtles were kind of taken by surprise.

My thoughts exactly. But I agreee with the rest they all kinda sucked.
Here's what I my perfect endings for TMNT 2,3,and 4.
2-SHredder destroys the dock and the turtles resurface. they all believe the Shredder to be dead but he arises, weakened but alive nonetheless. The Turtles then must face him one last time. The turtles try one on one but are out-muscled. Then they defeat him using teamwork (which they didn't use the firast time while facing Shredder showing that they've grown as ninjas). Eventually doing the same thing they did to Tatsu eventually causing him to fall into a sharp piece of a wooden pillar ultimately meeting his demise.( I know its a PG flick so we just see the pillar and then Shredder howl in pain and then it's done, no impaling). Leo then says " well that's the end of the Shredder" and the film continues as it does already.
3-F**king Walker doesn't implode on himself and Splinter doesn't make a stupid Micheal Jackson/ Elvis ( I don't remember) joke about Hawaii. The TMNT don't start to dance but instead are celebrating Mikey's return just as Savanti Romero appears and says, "I believe you have something of mine", pointing at the scaptre and then the Turtles and Casey prepare for battle a la Mortal Combat ending:D.
4-They actually fight through the Foot and more focus on Mike and Donnie as they fight their respective Generals. plus(spoiler)
Casey's proposal.
Thought and comments welcome.
