Splinter's dialog is a bit odd in this episode also.
Not a bad one though I liked the bits with April and Karai at the start, and April and Chaplin.

This episode was indeed ok, but it didn't stand out much as previous eps in this season. I kind of wish we saw more of the city that was transformed with the monsters, unless we get that next week but no spoilers as I haven't seen the next two eps yet.

- I am still too ill to go to Body Combat (boo hiss for rhinovirus).
- I went to look at more condos (did not like the second complex, so returned to the first one).

And even at my ripe old age of 30, I would still not be too happy if they stopped showing the Turtles to show something else.

I loved this episode!! The whole April/Karai diolouge was great! It was also nice to have some Karai and Leo dialoug. They still have some issues to resolve, not romantic, more like "How the hell could you betray me like that?" stuff. At least that is the idea I got from "The Journal."

April didnt get a whole lot to do in this season, but her bedside conversation with Karai is one of my favourate TMNT scens involving the character, calming Karai's anger and rendering her speechless with how much she owes her enemies. Then of course, came the awesome Karai/Chaplin reunion, Chaplin lost none of his psudo-serious goofball charm when he was dragged into the room, but Karai's reaction said it all.

Real sprawling episode that had tension throughout between Karai and the Turtles, the Statue of Liberty jump, and the cliffhanger where the heores put up a valiant effort, but come up short. Probably the hightlight of the Lost Season

I tell you... any episode saga where you're sweating, and having trouble sleeping to see how it ends is a great one. None of this, I could miss an episode or two stuff here.

the dialogue was much better in this episode than the last few. Not that the episodes prior to this weren't good, but they were filled with such cliched bits and pieces. Thankfully, this episode settled down on stuff like "Looks like a Storm is coming." "No! It's already Here."


I really loved how the big effort was so futile. It really gives the dramatic tension a saga like this needs. There's nothing I like to see at the end of an episode than the heroes failing after thinking they've got the villain beat. Really keeps you on the edge of your seat, with your nails bitten to the nubs.

This was a great ep, I loved the April and Karai scene (good to see April again, nice to see that Karai may be coming to her senses again...), and Chaplin showing up was the best! I love the warm smile Karai gives him when he goes to pick her up off the bed.

Leo and Karai's conversation later on in the episode was great too, again I do think she's starting to come to her senses in regards to her war against the Hamato clan...it was nice to see her save Leo's life too.

I'm not big on the turtles having magical powers, it's just odd for me to see...and is something I'll need to warm up to (I don't have the dvd yet, and this is the first whole ep of the Lost Season I've seen).

I'll just say that Mandi-chan spoke it best for my thoughts on the show. I can't help but groan about the mystical powers.. Every time I hear about Donatello's 'cleaving wind', all I hear are bad fart jokes... :ohwell:

man this was such a good episode it seemed much more grounded than in other episodes from these seasons. I loved the dialogue between April and Karai, and I really loved the slightly grudging attitude had with Karai as she told her that if it was up to her she might not have bothered to save her but was because the turtles asked her too. It really seemed to shock some of the self rightousness out of Karai and she really needed that, since she just been going on and on about how wronged she's been :roll:. That whole exchange really made me realize how much I've missed April (and Casey) since they where replaced, what strong indepth supporting characters they are in the series, they are just as important as the main characters for the dashes of deminsion they give to the show. April got major cool points for telling Karai--a ninja master with way more skill and experience than she does, that if she tried anything she was going to slam her hard enough to curl her hair LOL that April is so cool 8) I loved the look Karai had on her face when April said that to her. I wish April had gone and done that any way, stupid bitch really needs to be slammed after the way shes been acting. Chaplin and his reaction to seeing Karai was classic, that guy sweats her so bad :P

A few things, I really liked the interaction between the characters and the plot it self in this episode like I said it felt more grounded. I liked the suspence of trying to find these focal points in the city to take over before Shredders energy took them. And of course the splitting up into to groups. Liked April and Chaplin teamed up doing the techy stuff, Don and Splinter together, and some nice over due Mikey and Raph interaction :D and I loved the team up and tension filled team of Leo and karai with the ancient one. I have to say that I'm liking the way Leo is handling Karai. She is still stuck in self rightous bitch mode but he quite stoicly and succinctly tells her to put it aside for now and whether she likes it or not shes gonna help. I also liked how he said he had her with him so he could keep an eye on her because he still didn't trust her. Like he was baby sitting her, and it seemed like a back handed put down despite his resolution to work with her, to express his displeasure for her attitude. I was really eating up all simutanilus battles that where going on with each team to get the power point. The plot was pretty damn good but it was made better by all the bonus characteriation that occured with the teams acting off each other in smaller teams instead a big group because the dynamics of how each team work and react with each other had much more emphasis.

I really enjoyed this episode. The team ups were great and so was the dialogue between Karai and April and Karai and Leo. It shows that trust has to earned, and Leo still doesn't have faith in Karai yet. However, he does feel that she can help, and I loved the fact that he told her she was gonna help whether she wanted to or not. The battles with the Mystics were very well done.

I'm just sad that there are only two episodes left. Oh, well, I'm getting it on DVD so I'll at least have that.

that's how you make a good cliffhanger to end the episode off. Either have the heroes unappoligetically defeated, or having them just on the cusp of coming back. that's what keeps you intregued to watch the next episodes.

I like how Leo forces Karai to help out much like the way the tribunal forced the turtles to fight the demon saki.

It's great to see April again. I enjoy episodes that incorporate her character.

I think the part I liked best was the fact they separated the group into teams. Like a lot of people were saying there was opportunity for good dialogue exchange.
I too am not a huge fan of the mystic powers or the fact they have to yell the phrases before they do it. Like they have to talk to the weapons. Even splinter and ancient one had some mystic force going it looked like.
I enjoyed it overall, and even though I have seen it a couple times I still felt frustrated for them at the end.

my favorite part was April telling off that bitch Karai and Leo later putting her in her place. Seriously I can't express how much I really can't stand Karai in this show, which is so weird because she was so awsome in the movie and I really liked her. My biggest hope is to see Leo kick the crap out of her again like he did in season four but this time throw in a little humilation into the beating. She just needs to get over her self she wouldn't have had to be patched up at all if she had just listened to the turtles in the first place. Notice how she was so against them helping her but as soon as she was in trouble she worried when demon Shredder barricaded them off from her? Karai needs to shut up and get over her self, so far she has proven to be a lousy ninja and to emotional and stupid to be leader. I wonder how many foot ninjas where killed during that assault on her head quarters during that fight that any idiot could see they couldn't possiably win!!!

Also i liked how when the ancient one slapped Mikey in the back of the head LMAO he slapped him so hard. "It's better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open it and be you" ha ha ha ^_^

Yeah, this was a pretty cool episode. Loved the small teams and how they worked. Still hate the mystical attacks but at least they use them because regular fighting won't work against the Mystics/demons/whatever. Still... physical martial arts is much more fun to watch. Hopefully next season will have more of that, even if it's in cyberspace XP

you know I think I have to play devils advocate when it comes to Karai a bit. I mean I can't stand her and I'm annoyed with her attitude as every one else and I think she is handling the situation wrong, but does any one think she has a right to be a angry at the turtles as she does? I mean no matter how noble the motivation was that caused the turtles to go after Shredder, they did take a person that Karai sees as a father figure away from her, and then they deceitfully broke into her place and stole that necklace thingy all for their own purposes. Given all that can you blame Karai for feeling the way she does toward the turtles and Leonardo?

Can I just say that whether the turtles gave Karai a legimiate reason to be angry at them or not, she was still supporting a serial killer and despite being more "honorable" than her so called father, was still helping him with a plan to destroy an entire race of people. Leo gave Karai mulitple chances to see Shredder for what he was and do the right thing, but she didn't. The turtles never made it a secret that they where going to stop him and avenge Yoshi's death, so I can't see how she can be angry at them for doing what they made very clear that they where always going to do.

Karai's problem is that she couldn't make a stand and lacked the character to do what was right. Stop following an evil killer. It doesn't matter if he was her father, it didn't change what he was.

Karai is a character who is neither good nor evil in the comics, her truce with the Turtles is ever fragile and by the time Tales of the TMNT revealed her future as an old woman, she had been reduced to endangering her great grandchildren just to relive her days against the Foot's sworn enemy, she is destined to be consumed by her own ego and ambition.

I think if Splinter where to suddenly go evil and do horriable things, that the turtles would not go along with it and try to stop him. Even if he is their father and raised them and made them who they are yadda yadda yadda, because in the alternate reality that Mikey went to right before Exodus the turtles had become estranged from their father/mentor because he went to the dark side and they all stood up against him instead of following him. Now I know that this was supposed to be a alternate reality where the turtles are super heros but I think it is a good indication to how the would stand firm to their morals even if a loved one did turn evil.
