I was listening to a radio program the other day and there was someone campaigning to get Cheeta the Chimp, star of the old Tarzan movies, his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, their website can be found here:

http://gocheeta.com/

So the obvious question is, has Mirage ever considered nominating the turtles for a their own star? It could be for TV and/or Movies, with 350 animated tv episodes and four movies.

The deadline for 2009 is May 30, 2008, it would be nice to see them get a star for their 25th anniversary.

The official applicaion for nomination could be found here:

Interesting idea. The process for that is quite strange and the selection is even stranger. Godzilla just recently got a star a few years ago and he's been around for 50 years. So who knows.

Yet Ryan Seacrest got one in like a week. It's a sham!

Well why not... the Muppets have one....

But the thing is a star costs $5000 and the stars have to pay for it themselves. Which is how all these young celebs get their stars...as soon as they get the big money...bam...they spend it getting a star. I know this cuz trekkies raised money for James Doohan to get one (I signed the petition for him to get one. Couldn't afford to donate any money tho).

So perhaps if we all raise enough money.....

Seriously... does the Honey Nut Cheerios bee really have one? I know it was a Simpsons joke, but I can't help actually believe it.

Maybe if 4Kids, Playmates, and other partners pay for it, we could see one.

But do the Transformers have one?

I would nominate Kev & Peter for creating the TMNT. Have both names on on the star.I thought someone else has to PAY for it though.

I never understood the "charm" of the Walk, Hollyweird is pretty creepy except the Chinese theatre.

Kinda neat Cheeta's still around, he seems pretty happy.

The fee now is $25,000, but honestly the turtles don't need us to pay their way, there are enough sponsers out there who can get the job done, Laird himself probably has that much in his sofa cushions.

No Honey Bee or Transformers, but we do get Pee Wee Herman and the Rugrats.

what do they do though... build more streets to make room for more stars?

There were originally 2,500 blank stars, and as of 2004, 2,150 of the original blank stars had been filled. I do believe they extended the walk, by how much I'm not sure.

Extended the streets and countries. There's a Walk of Fame being created in London just for the celebrity dogs.

How do we know they haven't done just this for the 25th anniversary.

I wonder if fictitious dogs like Snoopy, Scooby-Doo, and Goofy are on the wait list.

Probably. I know Lassie, Toto, Gromit, and Tin Tin's dog, Snowy are on the wait list.

Lassie already has a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. As does Rin Tin Tin and a silent movie star named Strongheart (who's real name was Etzel von Oeringen... he was a German Shephard...)
