So..I have searched all over for TMNT comics and I can't find any. There isn't a comic book store around me that sells the comics or are willing to get them. They claim that "tmnt hasn't been sold or distributed for years". There isn't even a place for the TMNT in the comic stores. I'm new to the comics..so I don't know where to start exactly...I'm not a HUGE comic book fan (I'd buy the TMNT ones...but I don't really like comic drawings..so I'd buy the comics to read the stories...but I would prefer if I could read them online. Until I got caught up, at least. I don't want to track down and purchase all of the comics) So..is there a place where I can view comics (ninjaturtles.com only show previews of majority of the comics). Just until I'm caught up on the stories. Or could someone fill me in on what has happened? I'm really interested in reading the stories since they are still be printed (right?)..but I can't seem to find any of them. The rare comics I found to purchase offline were seriously expensive. Since..like I said I'm not big on comics...just wanting to know the stories...I don't feel comfortable spending so much money on them. Ya know? SO..any help?
That stinks. My local shop still orders TMNT comics, and it's been where I've gotten a large amount of the ones I have.
Anyway... for both online reading and buying, ninjaturtles.com could help out. As they have some issues posted to read, and some comics to buy as well.

Karailynn - Tales of the TMNT has been published on a monthly basis for the past few years actually. You comic shop guy is either lazy or just doesn't care unfortunately. Tell him to look up Mirage in Previews!

I thought they had been. I went in and asked where the TMNT section was...and he said "why would I have one?" I said that I thought they were being published and he told me that they haven't been made in years. So..it was crappy. is there anywhere else besides ninjaturtles where I can read/find out about the comics. Ninjaturtles.com only has the first few to read (not just a preview). I've googled around a lot..but I havent found any good information really. Just a few things here and there.
Well, there is also Wowio. But they only have the current TMNT comic (Volume 4) up for reading, and you have to join the site.
Only other thing (I know of, at least) would be buying them.

I don't want to like "rip off" the franchise or anything. I just thought they'd be online for viewing. If they're not...I'll just have to find some super cheap ones on ebay. But, like I said I prefer to view them online first...since I'm new to it and since I'm not normally a comic fan. The comcis I have found are about 30.00...and I just don't want to spend that much money. so...if they're online somewhere...can I know?

The only comics online legally are at ninjaturtles.com and wowio.com. Reasonable lots of comics regularly show up on eBay but, yes, it is going to cost you money.

ok. thanks guys.
You can order the earlier stuff at paneltopanel.net It's an awesome site. They have a whole section devoted to TMNT. They're extremely prompt with their deliveries and stuff too.

If you're really set on getting TMNT comics legally, Ebay remains your best bet, IMO.
Every now and then, a seller would post bundles of TMNT comics, sometimes even the complete VOL.1 Mirage comics (which was around 120$ last time I saw something like that).

I'll have to check ebay. I just was hoping I could read some first before I went and got some. They're kinda like movies...I'd rather watch them first..before I buy them. I found another comic shop around me today and I went in and asked the guy about it..and he said they get some in..rarely. He said he can never keep them in stock. They sell like CRAZY. I guess he has them "in stock" for just a few hours before they sell out. Which is good news for the franchise though.
So, thanks guys. I'll just order some off of ebay.
